New Megastrike formula?

There has been several threads on here recently about that product.  Bobby even ran a special discount for us folks.  I got mine but really haven't had a chance to "test" it as yet.

Pretty much a toss up on pro's and con's.  It does have a garlic smell to it but that is from the amino acid formula.  NO garlic in it.

I'm sure you will find a thread with a search.

So garlic must have a lot of amino acids in it then.Is that why garlic smells like garlic. ::)

I got some of it to try but I need the weather to cooperate.  One day 70+ next day 40 and rain!

Later, :)

All I know is that when someone suggested in a thread on here that the new formula smelled like garlic that Bobby at Megastrike said it had no garlic in it.  It does have a different smell than the original.

He isn't about to give away all the ingredients in it.  Website says amino acids and proteins and some "secret" ingredients.

It works for me.

I don't think it smells of garlic at all...more of a dead shad type smell.

Not saying it doesn't work.Megastrike is incredible. The "new" formula works just fine, but give me the old stuff. I just hate garlic. It offers no benefits whatsoever to fishing and is better on bread, spaghett, and tacos.

I wish the new formula came in a stick...much cleaner

I've been using it for about a month now and it has increased my hook up ration by about 50-60%.  A friend and I were fishing West Point and I was using it, he wasn't.  I out fished him 4 to one and the next thing I heard was "let me try some of that stuff!"  I've always used Berkley scents until now and they help, but you have to spray way too often.  With the Megastrike I only apply it about every half hour and I no longer go fishing without a tube in my pocket.  Excellent product in spite of the fact that Rolo marini endorses it.  I love it!

I had sent some tubes to the guys and girls that went to the Bass Resource road trip. Hope you guys get to try it.

Guys, lets end this thread now.

MegaStrike does not work.

Send all you have to me and I will dispose of it for you for free.

Even old tubes that you have to really squeeze to get the remainder out.

Don't be concerned if it is the new or old formula.  I will take them all.  ;D   ;D   ;D

I have been using MegaStrike for about a year now and have always liked it, but today really sealed the deal.

I was out fishing the pond and was getting pretty frustrated due to the fact that I had about 6 followers on my Bomber crankbait, but no takers at all. They would swim right up to the bait and turn away at the last minute. I tried different color Bomber's, Jigs, Spinnerbaits and varied retrieves with nothing but followers.

Well this was war, so I pulled out the New Formula MegaStrike, of which I have never used scent on cranks before, and no more followers, 4 hook up and landed before I had to get going.

Thanks for the great product Bobby!

One of the best pre tournament techniques I and OTHERS I have fished with use is-MegaStrike on baits with bent hooks. I bend hooks on worms /jigs/shakE's ect. My philosophy on this is I can get the fish to hit/ hold on to the baits and feel the quality of the fish and never sting them. I have watched tournament fishermen for years sore mouth fish to death the day or days before a tournament. The next day they go to their sports and usually convince me to go with them only to blank there. Just get a bait /hook and bend it up so you cant hook the fish. put some goo on there and just go fishing. If ya get bit-just reel them in and shake them off. There is a good chance they will be there tomorrow when ya need him./her. Same deal with cranks/buzzbaits and spinnerbaits.

Got to try the new megastrike on Kentucky Lake and it works!

Caught some on a rage lizard but catch rate definitely went up after putting on Megastrike. Tube I had was not Garlicky at all, more like a shad smell. And by the way, garlic does work! Try JJ's Magic if you don't believe me.

And I thank you for it.  I am back in Wisconsin now and in the middle of ice out, so I'll be able to give it a go shortly. :)

Wow, that's an idea...If it came in a stick, kinda like a chapstick consistency I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

get on it bobby!

I agree.

MegaStrike is very effective in "holding" a bite. Most importantly,

this gel is user friendly. I use JJ's Magic on jig trailers that I dip at

home and store in small, sealed plastic bags. For all other soft plastics

and swimbaits, it's MegaStrike for me.

I wonder why everyone seems to think that whet they're smelling is what the bass are getting from the product.  I'll bet it isn't.  The odor you smell is either a mask, or a byproduct of what is in the stuff that is actually drawing and/or holding the bites.  I tend to think its the latter.  For the record, it does smell JUST like rotting shad.

I believe that air-born molecules and water born taste/smell molecules are different. I believe they react differently under water. "drowned out" Some go undetected. I do believe that the smell and taste receptors are one in the same with fish.. I believe that the molecules are interpreted in different ways with different species by both land and water creatures. Fish like certain flavors/we like certain flavors. Some we like in common and some not.Give them the natural foods that are from their  natural environment that they have genetically been using for millions of years.
