Avid amateur from southern VA

Hello all!

Just found this board last night and registered this morning. Seems like a pretty darn good bass fishing message board. (Something I've been looking for for a long time now.) I live in southern Virginia, near the North Carolina border. (Near Martinsville, for any NASCAR fans that may be here)

My name is Jonathan. I am 21 years young; I'm a small town kid, and I love fishing. I have always had a passion for it. Bass fishing especially. I also trout fish, but bass are definitely my favorite. I just bought my first boat this Fall (just a 15' v-hull boat), and I plan on spending this spring/summer on my local lake (Philpott Lake) honing in my bass fishing skills. My lifelong dream has been to become a professional bass angler. What better life could one dream of than being paid to fish.

Anyway, I look forward to reading, interacting, and learning a thing or two from this website. Hopefully when all these winter storms stop rolling through, I can get some fish pics up and build a decent reputation on the board. ;)

Tight lines!

Welcome Jon.

We have a lot of active guys from Virginia on this site so join in the posts.

Don't fish down your way as it is too far. But I do know of a pond that I was told I could fish by the owner between Abingdon and Lebanon and I plan to fish it when I visit Russell County Schools this summer.

Are you a member of any of the local bass clubs in your area????  :)

Welcome aboard from NY.

Unfortunately, there are no clubs near my county. :( But I hope to change that soon. I'm actually trying to start my own angling club for fishermen around the area. Hopefully I can get that up and going soon.
