Give Me Your Best Five Colors Of Choice

Featured Replies

This coming Friday I'm purchasing, a bunch of worms and Jigs. I need to know, the top 5 colors to choose from. I kinda stay away from the bright colors myself. I kinda think it scares the fish away.. The Bass may think of, something trying to attack them. I know Green Pumpkin, may be to go to color for most people, cause u can fish it, in Clear and Stained water Clarity. Here's a Question. What do u all think of Green Pumpkin with red flake & Watermelon with red flake? I'm mainly a Plastic Worm fisherman myself. If i'm at the lake around 7am, i'll use top water for a little while. Then i'll use a natural darker color and 9am maybe. Here's my colors of choose, you guys tell what what your all think.

How did you come to the conclusion that bright colored baits scare fish ?

Clear or Stained water, i'm not using bright colors. Murky or muddy water, i'll use Bright colors. Most people would probably use, alot of Spinners in those Conditions. Clear and stained i'll stick to Natural Colors.

I didn't want to say anything, but I'm curious about this as well.

My colors are plum apple, june bug, watermelon/ green pumpkin laminate and everthing else with watermelon, black and blue swirl or laminate, green pumpkin, green pumpkin red.

The plum apple so far I only seen in Senko and I wacky the 5". Funny part I had that bag for over two years and now just tried them and landed a 4.9, 4.8, 3.4, plus many dinks on two different lakes. Travis lake last Thursday and Hunting run last Sunday. It's one of my go to color now.

I think Watermelon And/0r with Red Flake work great in clear water. I use alot of White Pearl in Clear water. Maybe with a little Glitter with the white, brings up that great sparkle in the water. Alot of people like to use different colors. Cause the colors u use in your area, may not work in my pond/lake in my area. I think White is the best color in clear water

Plastics (most productive)

Cinnamon Pepper Neon Junebug Laminated (Camouflage)

Junebug with a Blue Tail

Black Neon

Watermelon Neon

Redbug, Cranapple, or Crab Apple (pretty much the same)

Jigs

Black-n-Blue, Black Neon & Coon Tail

Trailers: (most productive)

Gene Larew Salty Hawg Craws: Black Blue Flake/Blue Claw & Black Neon

Rage Tail Lobster: Falcon Lake Craw & Sapphire Blue

green pumpkin

watermelon red

texas craw ( mostly brown with a little black and chartreuse)

chartreuse shad

black with either red or blue flake.. cant decide, red worked last year and blue this year

Presentation means a alot more than color. Those colors will work fine.

For jigs you can't go wrong with black and black/blue. Black is also a deadly color for plastics.
