Spinnerbait I would slowly, slowly crank it. Almost jig it in a way. What this will do is keep the blades spinning a little bit but will allow it to get down there where you need it.

Dead on with the 3/4 to 1 oz.weight. I fish NorthStar football jigs in them weights. Also a T-rig. The drop shot is a killer too in deep water.Don;t forget BIG worms like a 15in.Netbait C-Mac DEADLY!

I have no clue, mostly concentrate on those 1-2 ft bass. My equipment probably couldn't handle them if they were any bigger.

The majority of my fishing is done at those depths & my #1 technique is a Texas Rig with a ¼ oz weight.

Silver buddies and jigging spoons, go vertical.

Like Catt, I tend to fish offshore structure and cover in 20+ feet of water and fish mostly jigs, TX rigs, and a couple other things. Swimbaits being a huge "other" at this time of year.

Why take the skirt off? Why not just use the swim bait as a trailer?

I bought a 1 oz. Hot Spot last month just for this purpose. Casts a mile, sinks fast, lotsa racket, easy to fish deep, good size (about 4"), but only spent about 15 minutes throwing it. So, the jury is still out and i need more time with it, but i think it's going to get me a big ol' bass or pike sometime soon. P.S.- you can hear those rattles 40 yards away for crying out loud! I may have to buy another and silence it, just in case.

I have fished both ways, with and without skirt. IMO, taking the skirt off frees up the swimbait to move more freely and I think that it looks more natural. I have caught fish with the skirt on, but seem to catch more without it.

I'm pretty sure I seen Bill Dance talking about using a Heddon Sonar the other day on VS fishing deep for bass, and it looks to me like it could be a killer lure. Not sure, I can't speak from experience, but perhaps it's something to look at?
