Aside from pitching and flipping...when are some other good times to use braid? Can it be used for Carolina Rigging? For Jigs? Frogs?

Also, should i tie a flouro or mono leader on it for any of the above applications or will i be ok tying directly to the lure/rig?

You can use braid anytime you want to . I personally use Hi-Vis braid & color the last 7 foot of line black with a sharpie. I never use a leader. I'd say most use braid 50-65 for a frog but after that it;s just up to individuals as when to use the braid. I fish flukes on 8-12 # mono but if it didn't dig I'd be back to 10-20 braid.

Its great on a c-rig telagrapghs the bottom do use a mono leader from the swivel to the bait

I use it on everything all the time. If I am fishing jigs in rocks I will put on a mono leader due to abrasion.

Anytime you are not using treble hooks or when you are in crystal clear water. I use braid for everything else.

My bass fishing is done almost exclusively with braid. I don't use leaders.

I use braid on all my rigs. I use a leader only when fishing non moving baits..

I use braid 100% of the time, spinning gear 10#. I always use a leader with a loop knot.

i use braid all the time.never use a leader.line visibility means nothing.since i started using sufix 832 i don't have a problem in rocks.

I too use braid almost exclusively. Spinnerbaits, texas rigs, drop shot, etc... When throwing deep crank baits ill use 15-17# mono or floro just to get the extra depth. I like the added sensitivity of braid, less stretch equals more energy transfer. I just started using a leader for most of my braid applications. usually 17# mono, but ill probably switch to a floro once i find one i like. Probably isn't necessary, but it adds confidence for me, so i do it. Use whatever you have confidence in, that's what you'll fish best.

For a C-Rig and jigs definitely without a doubt go with a Mono or Fluro leader

But for frogs just tie directly

This is my perforation because I believe that the fish can see the line, but it's all in opinion because I know people that use pure braid for everything!

I use braids for everything except for swim/crank bait or live bait.

i use braid with a leader all the time too.

i only use braid when i flip and topwater lures.

Braid & Braid with leader 90% of the time. Starting to detest a stretch.

There's no right answer. For me, the right time is never. For other's it's always. I nearly never fish braid, hate it.

I fish braid almost exclusively with no leader for all techniques. On my spinning rigs I have one spool with braid and one spool with either a mono, copolymer or flouro and change them out on those windy days which make braid harder to deal with when casting.

Not on those windy days? You live in Chicago, and it's been windy just about every time i go out in the detroit area.

Frogs.

Like Hooligan, for me the right answer is never. For those of you who swear by it, I'm pleased it makes y'all happy. I just don't like it.

Its very windy today 25mph or so and just got back used baitcaster w/20# braid-spinning w/10# braid no issues. Had to use lots of thumb though throwing into the wind and more low side casts but still manageable and would need to do that with any line. With the wind though holy cow the senko just sailed off the spinning reel.

Use braid for everything for years but been trying other sfuff(co-poly,nanofil) just come back to braid though.

I gave braid a real shot this year and put it on everything to narrow down on what I want to use it for in the future. Then I put some co-poly and flouro on and geez I hate stretch so much that I went back. What I hate about braid though are wind knots, wraps around guides easier, also when using anything lighter I don't like the larger bow in the line. I'm sure I'm loosing sensitive cause of it but it's hard for me to really judge. A couple pluses for me is no stretch and doesn't coil up like the other lines.

I fish braid with leaders when I don't want the stretch that mono and copoly lines have. Mostly bottom bouncing techniques.

It's always windy here and I use braid 100% time( except offshore) with only 1 issue and it isn't the wind. I get wind knots, even if there is no wind on a certain brand of spinning reel, where as using the identical line and identical rods on different brands wind knots never happen. I can't seem to figure out why, in time I'll phase out those reels. Keeping less line on the spool is a big help, so I'm not using that outfit for fish that run a lot.

i throw co-poly for spinnerbait/buzzbait

I throw braid for my spinning gear +/- a copoly leader depending if I'm fishing smallmouth or dropshot
