Copolymer....

Featured Replies

Just out of curiousity, does anybody like or use copolymer lines? I just tried p-lines flouroclear and its interesting to say the least, but i dont have enough seat time with it to formulate a strong opinion. Just thought ide ask some of the more experienced bass fisherman around here what they thought of the stuff.

Copolymers are very popular. I use a lot of them and like them.

I have been using Yo-Zuri Hybrid, & ultra soft for a long time. I also use Gamma from time to time. I have found to be excellent line. I do use KVD line & lure if it has be on the reel with no use in a while.

Used a number of them before I started using a lot more fluoro. They are a great budget friendly option.

Copoly lines are a standby for many, many anglers. I wouldn't want to be caught without at least two rods with it one there, regardless of where I am in the US. I fish all my topwater and all jerkbaits on copoly lines.

I use it a lot also. I've fished several different brands but keep coming back to P-line. Now that they came out with their new C21 that fishes well, is tough, and affordable I'll be a lot less likely to wander again.

I have been using P-line 20# floroclear on my offshore conventional rig the last few years and for the most part It was fine. The reasoning I had was wanting to pack more line on my reel using a thinner line. I was wrong, if a fish is going to spool 200 yds of line it's good chance an extra 30 or 40 yds probably won't make a difference. Not a theory, reality. I have caught countless numbers of 50# fish with 20# pline, but it snapped on me last week, something really big. I've respooled with a heavier line and sacrificed capacity for strength, I think the right move.

I like the yozuri , works great on spinning reels for the drop shot. also use it for jerkbaits and spinnerbaits.

Spinning: Yo-Zuri Hybrid #6

Baitcasting: Hybrid #12

I fish rip rap and rock piles a lot. I have tried many different lines and always go back to Silver Thread Excalibur. low stretch, low memory and the toughest line I have ever used. a little hard to find, but well worth it.

Floroclear in mist-green from 6-10 lb spinning leaders (using 10lb PP for mainline).

Floroclear in mist-green 10-15 lb casting gear

Sometimes Yo-Zuri, fluorocarbon, mono for leader material.

Floroclear is my fav for color, diameter. Got plenty of Yo-Zuri spools, used a lot of it, but jut prefer P-Line.

Thanks guys! I appreciate it a lot, im excited to play around with the stuff having been a diehard mono fan for many years. I get the feeling flouroclear from p-line may be my new favorite line :)

P-Line C21 is an excellent, cheap copolymer line. For $5 a spool you can get four for the price of a cheaper flouro. Very abrasion resistant and STRONG.

i fish vicious ultimate copoly. that stuff has more than impressed me in every way.

I use the Sufix ProMix copoly on most my rods. I find it at my local Farn n Fleet for $9 for a 300 yard spool. It has become my favorite line. I have had no negatives with it, and its unbelievably cheap. Iv used it for jigs, swimbaits, flipping, frogs, drop shotting, and everything in between. Downfall is no tackle outlets sell it, so if my local store ever closes, im in trouble.

I've been using Izorline XXX copoly for years and I don't have any reason to change. My dropshot rod has fluorocarbon on it and my frog rod has braid. Every other rod has Izorline. I get mine off of ebay for 12 - 15 dollars for a 1/4 lb spool.

Anyone have an opinion on P-Line CXX X-Tra Strong?

Yep. I love it. I use it for all my moving baits save paddletails in cover. Amazing strength and abrasion resistance and I don't find the stiffness to be unmanagable on casting gear, though many will complain about this. KVD L&L helps. Not sure if I would use it on spinning gear though, certainly nothing higher than 6# if I did.

P-line c21 >< yo-zuri hybrid? anyone had the chance to try these two and see a big difference? I like the hybrid, never hear of the C21 untill this thread..

I find it a bit more supple but haven't really tested it much

I used it all last year. A great line in my opinion. My local BPS store discontinued it last summer.

I emailed Vicious to request a catalog and a list of stores in my area that carry it.

They not only sent me a catalog, but also a hat, 2 bulk spools of the very 2 that I use, 14# green and 8# green. Also several Vicious decals.

Gotta love freebies! :respect-059:

does copo. have the sensitivity of flouro? or fall halfway between mono and flouro?
