the topic title,pretty much says it all,last year at the end of april, i think was the first time i went out i did great on chrome/black,chrome/blue,chrome/chartreause,gold/black

this year i've been out 3 times and only got a couple on chrome/chart,

has anybody been trying new colors that have been working this year.tia

Haven't fished one much this year yet, the jerkbait bite has been too good. My trusty Rayburn Red Xcalibur XRK50 might be the only one I've caught a bass on so far this year now that I think about it.

Sexy Shad

All depends on weather, water clarity, and in some cases forage comes into play.

I am planning on throwing a Northland live forage bluegill lipless this fall for the most part because this is what the bass are chasing on the lakes I fish and the water clarity is generally clearer in the spring time until the vegetation comes in. At that time, I will start throwing chrome colors.

I have always done good on the crawfish colored one or the chrome/ with blue back....

red eye shad in green/chrome blue/chrome and ghost sexy shad are all my favorites.

None We went from ice out to 65 degree water in the shallows, low to mid 50's on the lake, in about 10 days. Then over the last week back down to 38-40 degree water in the shallow areas, and 44-45 degree main lake. I am floundering, had a couple OK days hitting those warm shallows, but they all pulled out of there, and I can not get anything going on a lipless crank or jerkbait on the flats, or in and around the staging area's.

But back to the original question, my favorite baits are Strike King Redeye shads, or the silent Damiki Tremors. It seems like one color is hot for a year or two, and then I can't buy a bite on it anymore. First it was Chrome/Blue back, then it was Red Craw, then Japanese Shad, but none of those are working real well for me right now, so I guess I am of little help LOL.
