Lake turning over...
One sign that your lake is turning over is bubbles/foam that stay on top of the water without popping.

That one moment,...you knew
I've been thinking about this since this thread began and I honestly can't remember when or if there ever was that one moment. My dad was a rafting/fishing guide on the Snake River in Wyoming back in the early 50's. (Long before I was born.) I have been fishing literally since I was born. Every family vacation, every father and son trip, every chance we got, we went fishing. He taught me how to tie flies. I was fly fishing in North Georgia when I was eight and I can't remember seeing anyone fly fishing up there until I was 15 or 16. But my dad is not a bass fishermen. Any rod that is stiffer than a light action rod is to stiff for him. lol But if I had to pick the one moment I became addicted to bass fishing. I would have to say it was when I was 17 and I had been fishing with my best friend Adam (Doghouse) for a few months. But this particular day I was by myself. They had just opened Charlie Elliot WMA/Public fishing area and the lakes were beautiful. I was in a little bass buggy on Lake Bennett and I was fishing a white spinnerbait over some floating timber that had been anchored in this little cover by the Department of Natural Resources. I was bringing it over a log and it fell into a hole about 6 inches square when about a four pound bass came out of that hole with my spinnerbait in its mouth. He jumped the log and landed back in the water. I set the hook and landed him shortly after that. There are several others that I can think of but I am pretty sure that is the earliest time.

1 All-Around or More...
OK. I see your point. (And 24 is still young for many of us) lol I wan't you to do a favor for me. I wan't you to take your six foot Med rod and go get a couple of 1/2oz jigs and go fishing with them for one day. The come and tell us how it went. Then take you 6'6" MH rod and go fishing with a Rapala Shad Rap #5 and come back and tell us how it went.

Atlanta area lakes
I haven't been there in a while but I would go around from lake to lake looking for water with good visibility. Start with Lower Raleigh. Then go to Stump. Concentrate on the smaller walk in lakes. They really like rat-l-traps this time of year but a Jighead worm will be good to.

Hunting / Target Rifle
The description of what kind of gun you want spells out only one cal. 243. You will enjoy it.

Looking for rod.
For crankbaits, senkos and jigs with light wire hooks. You can get away with a Med X-Fast. But if you are looking to use the standard heavy hook jig you will need two rods.

Ultralight
Whenever someone askes about a good Ultra Light rod and reel I instantly think of one of the best UL fishermen there ever was. (Ray Scott) He has designed the best UL combo that I have ever used. You should check it out. http://www.rayscott.net/sales/rod.php

Hook keepers on rods

Im new to the site just wanted to say hi.
Glenn, Welcome to the site. I live in Evans. I fish "The Hill" several times a week. Just not on the weekend. That's when I work. I have seen a couple of Carolina Skiffs on the lake lately. Maybe one of them was you. There are a few locals that frequent this site. None as much as me, but that's a given. It is good to have you here. You won't be dissapointed with this site. I am going to move this to the General section so it will get more views and responses.

ProTeam 165 annoying buzz/alarm ??
Welcome to the forums, We are glad to have you here. I am pretty sure you are low on oil. When this buzzer goes off it means to get you butt back the your truck and get some oil in it. The oil mixes with the gas in you two stroke engine. If you don't have any oil it is a bad thing. I keep two extra quarts of two stroke oil in my boat just for this reason. Is there an oil fill cap on the motor or is in in the back hatch near the gas tank?

Name 1 thing you learned
I have spent countless hours staring at hydrilla and other aquatic plants wondering how to fish them. I don't wonder anymore thanks to Catt. Chris helped me gain confidence in Cranks. Fletchero, ReelMech, and Alperster helped me become a good rodbuilder before I built my first one. Randall helped me win my first tournament. I know that's more than one but I have been on here for a long time.

casting-*VIDEO added*
It is almost impossible to diagram a cast. What do you mean by roll cast? The only roll cast I know of has to do with Fly Fishing. When I skip docks I always use spinning gear and I cast side arm with my rod as close to the water as I can get.
