I got a deer!!!! 10/27/07
Cool man, Congrats. You can't beat that rush. I am in the middle of turning a buck I shot on Thursday into jerky. He wasn't much in the way of antlers but he was big when he came out at 15yards and I was sitting on the ground. I'm making jerky because I spoiled my wife last year with three young, good tasting, does. If you wish to continue to enjoy deer hunting then get your hands in there and field dress it yourself and learn how to use all the meat from the animal. There is much more to deer hunting than the hunt.

BWS/Clarks Hill Championship boater needed
Good luck to both of you. Be very careful while your out there. The lake is way down and there are alot of humps in shallow water right now. Keep an eye on your depth even when running on plane. If the clear water turns red, even in the middle of the lake, the bottom is way to close. Find safe routs to your areas and save the tracks on your GPS. This will save your tournament. We've been pulling alot of beached boats off of the bottom lately. There aren't many ramps open right now. So put that into your plans.

OLD FART HAIR CUT?
I've had a tight fade since my army days. It's not flat on the top though. My head can't support one.

$590 dollar rapala
That's funny. I always keep an eye out for pricing mistakes on basspro. I found some yo-zuri cranks for .99cents once. Their regular price should have been 9.99. I bought ten of them.

Has anyone ever had the chance to eyeball some of the pro's bulk spools. What do you think thier most used mono line is? It suprises me each time I see several spools of Triline Big Game in their supply.

daiwa 153 hsta advantage vs. revo
I have six HST's and four Revos. It's hard to say because I realy love both of them. But for heavy use and total fishability I would say the Revo is a bit better than the HST.

Naming your boat
My last boat was named "The Other Woman". So when my wife called I would tell her that I was on The Other Woman. My new boat is named "The Office". So now I'm at the Office.

On Board Chargers
I have a Dual-Pro three bank in my boat and so far it's doing fine. But I have only had it for 5 months so I don't know how long it will last.

What came natural to you?
Honestly, My screen name explains it. I seemed to understand the fluke from the beginning but I have added so much to the simple idea of making it look like a dying fish. Onother one that comes to mind is the C-Rig. From the cast to the hookset and everything in between. It all came so natural that it suprised me. I don't use it nearly as much as I should.

FISHING PARTNERS
Doghouse and I have been fishing together for 16years now. I have learned alot from him and he picks up plenty of finesse ideas from me. Spotaholic has been my mentor for over 2 years. He is the best fisherman I know and I soak up everything I can when I am out with him. Buzzbaitfool12 and I get out every other week. We have a blast. I really enjoy fishing with senko77. He is a blast and I have learned alot from him. My newest fishing partner is Glenn2. He reminds me of fivebasslimit. They could be brothers. lol It doesn't matter who catches the most fish. So long as everyone leaves smiling.

Need Help With Super Fluke
For the best action from your fluke take your 4/0 hook and lay it against the side of the fluke exactly the way the hook will look when it's in the fluke. Take note of the spots where the hook will enter and exit the fluke. Then thread the fluke on the hook exactly that way. Make sure the hook stays on the center line of the fluke. The way I keep it down without killing the action is I put a large swivel about 20 inches in front of the hook. I don't like to add weights to the fluke itself unless I am fishing deep. Oh, and try useing a 4/0 or 5/0 regular offset worm hook. Your hookups will increase and the action will be better.

Drop Shot Weight Shape
Do you make tear drop shaped lures? I agree with your earlier post. My preferred weight is the tear drop for the same reasons you mentioned. Yes, they are tear drop sinkers.

Atlanta area lakes
I-20 east through Covington. Get off on exit 98 (Hwy 11). Turn left (south). Go throught Mansfield. Just a few miles on the other side of Mansfield you will see a big sign on the right that says Charlie Elliot Wildlife center. Turn there. Get a map at the sign in station and cross off the lakes that are closed by useing the list on the board. There are 22 lakes total and they are a great place to fish. I grew up in Covington and I have fished these lake from the beginning. You must have a WMA stamp in conjunction with your regular fishing license....... or only a one day fishing license.

Drop Shot Weight Shape
That gives me an Idea. Maybe I should start selling the ones I make for myself.

Drop Shot Weight Shape
I have done a lot of study and testing on this subject. There are basically three different types of dropshot sinkers that I have found. Round, Cylindrical, and Teardrop. One of the biggest problems with dropshoting is sinker strikes. You can't hook a fish with a sinker. Anything that can be done to minimize them is critical in the success of the drop shot. Cylindrical weights come off the bottom way to easy. Although you can still feel that it is on the bottom, one end of the weight will always come up a little with every wiggle. This stirs up the silt on the bottom and takes the bass's attention away from your lure. Round sinker work fine for the most part but their center of gravity is off the bottom a little and will still stir up a lot of silt. They also get snagged easy. IMO... Teardrop sinkers are the best. Their center of gravity is on the bottom of the weight. Making it hold on the bottom better, giving you better feel. It doesn't move around as much as the other two options. It is also narrow at the top. Making it less likely to snag in rocks and brush.

Shimano or Daiwa?
Shimano is a great reel. My only problem with them is that they just don't fit my hand. So I sold mine. I use Daiwa and Abu Revos for baitcasting setups. For my spinning reels I love Okuma. I have 2 Inspiras, 1 Aveon, and 1 Epixor.
