3rd Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Lake Guntersville State Park hotel is currently under renovation. Their website is also being redesigned. We will be one of the first large groups to stay in the new resort hotel after its completion. It doesn't have slips but it has a large ramp and plenty of parking. It's good that they don't have slips because most of the accommodations are a short drive from the water and securing our boats would be an issue. Guntersville is a huge lake and many of us will be pulling our boats to different ramps in order to access other parts of the lake. I have done some extensive research and this place is the best I've seen. It even has a decent golf course. I have heard nothing but good things about this lake during March. It is a big bass heaven.

Disheartening
You guys didn't get what burley was saying about the .22 and the dump. Rats and mice have eyes that reflect well in the spotlight. A little target practice is a good way to burn off steam.

Is my wife full of it?
Bassn_Blvd, I am excited for you and your wife. Boys are great fun. I have two of them and one more on the way. They love the outdoors as much as I do. Have fun being a dad. Fluke

Disheartening
I've been thinking all day about how I could add to this. When Glenn asked me to be a mod I had no clue what I was getting myself into. All I knew it that I loved this site and I knew it was a good thing and I wanted to help any way I could. So that's what I do and that's what I will continue doing. I know I am the quietest of the Mods. Y'all don't hear from me much because most of the work I do is behind the scenes. I go to the forums for the pure enjoyment. I don't like to edit or delete a post. It takes away from my enjoyment. I have read a few post that talk about us banning members. I can count on one hand how many actual contributing members we have banned in the last two years. We will go out of our way to keep from doing that. All of you are my brothers, from the newest to the oldest members. I have enjoyed getting to know each of you through your posts and your many experiences in fishing and in life. It breaks my heart when one of my brothers has difficulty getting along with another or one has trouble expressing himself in a respectable manner. I have watched some of you learn from these experiences and change for the better and others hurt or become hardhearted and turn away. My hope is that we will all learn from these growing pains and come out of it with something that will help you through some rough times in your own lives. My favorite part of this website are the young members. Not just the ones that have been around for a while but all the young guys. I enjoy watching their knowledge and love for bass fishing grow with each passing day. I take pride in the fact that we have something different. We have a place that many of these young men can find someone to look up to, someone to become a mentor and a role model. In a world of deadbeat dads and bad influences everywhere. We have a place packed full of good, caring men that these young guys can learn some life lessons from. Some of you may not think that these kids can pick up those type things from a forum but I'm here to tell you they can. They are a lot smarter then we sometimes give them credit for and they are like sponges when they see how we handle difficult things in our lives. By our example some of these kids will make the right decisions in their lives and grow up to become contributors to society. I have been involved in Boy Scouts for 25 years and I have been there and seen it happen way to many times. We have something special here. Fluke

Tournament giveaway reel
Wait a minute. What size is the reel. I use Okuma's Exclusivly for my spinning setups. For some reason their line ratings don't reflect their size at all. The reels come in sizes (10,15,20,30 and so on). If it is a AE20 then it is the perfect size reel for bass. The 15 is pushing it on the small size and the 30 is a little to big for me. I have a 40 that I use for salt water. Okuma spinning reels are great. I have been useing them for nearly six years now with no problems.

Which stand up jigs?
Keep an eye on Buckeye Lures. They are about to bring out a standup grass jig that is outstanding. I have a couple of prototypes and they are increadable. Their football jigs also stand-up. They have a color called the perfect craw that one of our members came up with. It is awesome.

A few weird things I saw while fishing today......
Last year there was a Snow Goose that traveled the Eastern Flyway down here to GA with a flock of Canadians. He spent the entire winter on Lake Varner.

How about them Vols!
Yep that one hurt. Georgia didn't even show up for the game. It was like watching a Div A team.

Is my wife full of it?
Make sure you have the Ultrasound tech tell you what the sex is. Not the Doctor. I work in diagnostic imaging and I have seen to many doctors miss read the sex of the baby. The techs are hardly ever wrong.

Creating Enviroment Friendly Structure
The best and easiest structure I have heard of is those cheap plastic patio chairs that Wal-Mart sells. People are throwing those things away all the time. Tie a brick to the underside of the seat on about a two foot rope and sing a bunch of them in the same spot. They will last for ever. And never hurt the environment.

Is my wife full of it?
You have been had. She is so full of crap it ain't funny. Unless her doctor has put her on bed rest then she needs to get up and do something. My wife was raking the lawn one day before she gave birth to our first kid. My wife is currently expecting our third son and we go to the gym every other day for a good workout. This will be beneficial to both her and our child. What will happen if your wife continues to be inactive is she will gain more weight than she needs to. She could very well get what is called Gestational Diabetes. Oh and the big one is that your child may weigh a pound or two more than it should be at birth. That means that she will have to push a bigger baby out when it comes time. OUCH I'm not saying don't help her out with the housework. Just get her up and active.

how long to find a brush pile???
I use the triangulation method. I stop in one place and then find at least three features on the bank to line up in the future, one being the boats location and two spots on the bank and another being my location.
