Why two trolling motors?
What you have is just fine for the size lakes you are fishing. If you are talking about the rigs you see in Senko77's post in the trips section then let me explain. Those are electric only tournament boats. The lakes we fish in are from 300 to 1000 acres. The multiple motors are all on full speed for the blast offs and then we conserve our batteries by useing them one at a time to get around. Making sure we have enought power to get back in time at the end of the tourny. We may travel as much as 15 miles during a tournament and that takes allot of power. So to answer your question. We use the multiple motors to increase speed, distance and time on the water.

My Pet Peeve: Breaking Your Line
Great post RW. This will become one of those classics. If I may add one thing that I have learned from my own stupidity. I have broken off four times in the last three years. Every time it has been early on the second day in a row of fishing. I was useing the lure that was working great the day before with the knot that I had tied the day before. Always remember to tie fresh knots each time you get on the water.

Securing old seats to bracket/swivel
Almonds or Pecans? You're making me hungry.

Securing old seats to bracket/swivel
It looks like this, but I would get one without the spikes or flatten them out.

Securing old seats to bracket/swivel
Duh. I read "with" not with out. lol What you need to do is go to Home Depot or Lowes and get you some anchor nuts the same width as your screw hole and the bolts and a washer to go with them. Drill a hole through the seat at the location of the existing screw holes. The hole needs to be big enough so the anchor nut will slide in. then put the anchor nut in the top and the bolt and washer in the bottom and that should do it. Let me see if I can find a picture of an anchor nut for ya.

Catching a Lunker with no camera or video
If I caught a bass that tipped the scales (obvious record) I would take it to the scales to get it weighed and measured and documented. If that means it dies than it dies. But, with that said, I always have a way to transport a fish. I keep a large cooler in my truck with a areator and some "Please Release Me" water treatment just in case.

Is this why you joined our forum, to complain about one individual's actions?

St Croix AC68MXF for crankbait ?
I am in the middle of making a rod from a SCIV68MXF. It will be my Rat-l-Trap, Topwater, jighead worm, leadhead fluke, ditch witch rod. That's basicly all I use most of the year. I can't wait to try it out.

Look at this system for electric only
Well put Ann-Marie. But unfortunately that won't work for Buzzbaitfool12. He is running an all electric boat with no outboard motor. So batteries is all he has. lol
-
Look at this system for electric only
It uses Motorguide 82lb motors. So if I do the math it would be like running your two 80's on just two batteries instead of four. At this point the math doesn't look good.
-
Look at this system for electric only
The thing you need to find out is how many total amps it draws from your batteries. You may only get half the runtime of one 24V 80lb motor.
-
Look at this system for electric only
For $1600 it better be good. It looks like it will push pretty good at 82lbs of thrust on each motor. You will still need a front motor to steer it.

Big Industry News!!!
I have noticed the expansion of the fishing sections in the Wal-Marts that are located close to large lakes (BFL meating locations) and I have seen the reduction of it in non-fishing areas. So maybe they are paying attention to what they send where to maximize profit. I used to shop the clearances in the stores in downtown Atlanta. They always had a buch of fishing stuff for cheep. My hometown Wal-Mart in located close to Clarks Hill Lake and it never puts it's fishing stuff on clearance.
