  1. You can buy a fizzing kit from online tackle shops or if you know sombody in the medical field you can ask them to pick you up some needles. You also might be able to find them at a drug store. Bass will die before they are able to fix thier own bladder. They will get exausted or stressed and roll over.
  2. I love a C-Rig. There are many ways to rig it and it's all a matter of preference. I've been using a Carolina Keeper for years and love them but this year I'm going to try something new. Fivebasslimit turned me on to using braid as a main line and then Fluoro as a leader. I haven't changed over yet but I will this week. As for my weight and bead. I use a Tru-Tungsten force bead and a 1/2oz Tru-Tungsten Finesse Carolina sinker. Why TT didn't market this sinker very hard is beyond me it probably the best sinker I've found for C-rigging. I wouldn't start out using that expensive rig though if I was starting off I'd rig it with a glass bead and a lead bullet sinker.
  3. Congrats man, Now you gotta PM me and give up those spots. They sound like ones I need to have marked.
  4. I shoot x-rays at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital. I've been doing it of 11 years now and I still enjoy it.
  5. All the fish I caught today had red lips. That is pretty normal for this time of year. I don't know why that is though.
  6. Trickworm Weightless T-rig Spot Remover Shaky head C-Rig Mojo Rig - My PB came on this one. Dropshot Wacky Slider Finesse Spot Remover Shaky Head T-Rig Mojo Rig Dropshot Slider Jig trailer
  7. Was than in the water or out?
  8. I went back to July of last year and found nothing. Are you sure it was on BR?
  9. The best thing to keep the water from coming into the livewell is a plug that you put in the hole at the bottom of the livewell.
  10. All of the above.
  11. I've never fished Lake Wylie but I do know a little about it. I do know that not all the lake is soft bottom. Many of the pockets and coves have hard bottome in and near the shallows. Go to our articles section and read a few of the ones on Spring Tactics. Most of them are written with impoundments in mind.
  12. OK here's another one. I buy a seasonal parking pass every year so I don't have to stop and pay each time I go to the lake. (Three bucks a day times 80 plus days, or 30 bucks a year. You do the math.) During the summer there seems to always be someone stopped at the entrance paying so I just drive around them and go put in. At least once or twice a year some numb nut will come and cuss me out for driving around him. My answer is always the same. "Go buy a yearly pass and you can do the same thing. Until then expect me to drive around you as you pay."
  13. You may not want to go fishing with me. I'll bite 20 lb fluoro with my dentist in the boat with me. 8-)
  14. These are all great options. Another one is the Mojo weight. It's a cylinder weight. I use a 1/16oz all the time. It's great for grass and rocks and everything in between. I peg it 5 to 18 inches above the hook and fish it just like a splitshot. To me there isn't anything better.
  15. Welcome
  16. Hey, who let the Texan in!!! Welcome to the family.
  17. I hate to post so close to Fivebass because this looks like the Mods pimping another sponsor but it's not. This is without a doubt the best thing there is for protecting your boat. I have a tin boat so there is no Gelcoat for BTS to work on but my carpet is tan and weathered and I was having a serious problem with mold and mildew. The carpet was green around the edges. I pressure washed it out and then treated the carpet with BTS and so far no more mold or mildew problems. This stuff is great.
  18. http://www.njtrollingmotors.com/cart/Home.htm Contact these guys. They are located in Jackson, NJ
  19. There are people all over the country that fish MinnKota's but most of them do it out of their garage. I know there are only two here in Georgia. I don't know about NJ. Let me see if I can let Google do the work.
  20. That's a good question. Depth depends on several things. Light penetration, water temp, bottom composition, protection from the cold North or West winds and access to deeper water (ditch, creek channel, ledge close by). The first place I would look would be the shallowest water in the back of pockets and creeks that are protected from the N or W winds. They must have a hard bottom. They must have some type of cover. They don't need much though, a stump, log, rock, anything that will protect one or two sides from bluegill. Then the staging area will be the first drop (deeper water) from the shallow area. I've seen bass spawn so shallow that their fins were sticking out of the water and I seen them spawn over 16ft deep on a stump flat in the middle of the lake.
  21. I caught 20 or 30 on them last year. They work just fine.
  22. As I know some will, but I can't picture the majority of them agreeing with it. I think it depends a lot of region as well. I don't think there are too many studies done on angler effect on spawning fish either. If anyone knows of any articles I have access to over 100 databases. I was looking last night for quite awhile. Another thing to consider is how many biologist specialize in warm or cold water fisheries. There are a lot of cold water biologists who think they are warm water specialists just because they learned about it in school but haven't practiced it in real life. There are a lot who think that how they learned to do it in school is the only way it can be done. There are some who think that the LMB is a predatory fish that needs to be eradicated to save the trout and salmon. I work with Bob Lusk on one of the most heavily managed bass lakes in the country. To many he is considered the top warm water fisheries biologists in the country. One thing that I've learned is that every body of water is different and if you ask 10 biologists to give you their opinion you will get 10 very different opinions. So you can't say that it's wrong or it's right. You must consider the ecosystem of that particular body of water before you come to a conclusion of weather it's detrimental or not.
