  1. Glenn puts it in Maintenance Mode at about the same time every night. If he didn't do that then the sight would quickly become bogged down and almost stop working. If he goes a few days without doing it, it will take well over an hour to do it. He does it between 12:15 and 12:45am eastern almost every night. So expect it. It has to be done.
  2. I do it like Chris W does. It works great.
  3. Or you can enter the numbers into the BassResource Fish Calculator and it will do it for you. http://www.bassresource.com/bassfishing/fishcalculator.html
  4. Gary my friend, what you have generated a lot of negative responses due to a simple misunderstanding of etiquette on your part. It is not polite to beg and/or use your young age as a reason that you deserve something for free. I've been working with young men of your age for a little longer than you have been alive and I understand where you are coming from. You feel that due to your age you are restricted buy lack of fishing funds and are limited in how you can earn the money needed to buy even the simplest of lures. I know it sucks. I used to be there. When I was your age I fished every chance I could get. I had no money and my dad couldn't help me. So I started to work. I got my dad's push mower and started knocking on my neighbors doors. I charged 10 bucks a lawn and on the first weekend I earned 50 bucks and went and bought my first bass rod and reel. From there I would slowly fill a small tackle box with worms, hooks and sinkers and for the next four years that's what I fished with. There is one thing that you have now that I wish I had then. That is the Internet. If you truly want to be a pro-bass fisherman then you should get involved with this forum and read as many of the articles and advice that is already on this site. Don't worry about having the best tackle yet. Just buy what you can afford and fish with what you have. Be patient and good things will happen. It may take you years of fishing from the bank and using just one rod and a few lures before you increase your tackle collection. But there is nothing stopping you from increasing your knowledge. So jump on in and enjoy the ride.
  5. It sounds like Trophy Bass. It was the best fishing game ever made. I still have it on my computer and I still play it.
  6. Believe me I understand the Scientific/Medical field. I've been in the medical field for the past 15 years and everyone has an answer and it's hardly ever the same one. It drives me nuts. That's a good question though. In one of their studies they took fish from the weigh-in of a large tournament, put them in a transport tank and moved them to a large holding pond. The main reason for this was to study the affect of their Catch and Release product on them in a Delayed Mortality study. All the fishermen were given the product and taught the proper way to use it. It just so happened that many of these fish had to be fizzed when they got to the holding tank. After a month of being kept in this holding pond it was drained and the fish were counted. Less than two percent of the fish did not survive. Much more than two percent were fizzed. My thinking behind it is like this...... Yes, they have a chance of dieing even after they are fizzed, but they are almost guaranteed to die if they aren't fizzed.
  7. I fixed the link. That's just cool right there. Congrats "Stinky".
  8. Actually, along with Dough Hannon the people who put that video together are two of the best in the business of keeping fish alive. One is a Scientist who specializes in Aquatic Chemicals for fish and the other is a Biologist who's one of the top authorities on the subject of fish health and keeping fish alive. They have years and years of personal research and study to pull from. I don't think they would tell us how to fizz a fish if it killed them. It's all about doing it right.
  9. I know a couple of good guides on Pickwick. PM me if interested.
  10. Take a deep breath guys. Keep it respectful.

use a peice of soft plastic worm.
  12. Welcome, I live just up the road in Evans. I fished those ponds when I was stationed at Ft, Gordon. There are some huge fish in those little bodies of water.
  13. http://www.ohiodnr.com/wildlife/dow/regulations/fishing_general.aspx "It is unlawful to transport and introduce any aquatic species (fish, invertebrate, plant) from one body of water to another."
  14. My heaviest limit to date (29lb 2oz) came off of a wind blown point. The wind was out of the East at 20-25mph. I'll stick with the old saying....... "You can't catch fish with dry line."
  15. As Catt said. Make your own. www.fishingskirts.com is the place to get your materials. I've been useing them for years and you can't beat their prices.
  16. Bobby, I went out yesterday and fished the Strikeback that you made for me. Its performance was absolutely incredible. I was fishing my Cheater Lake so the average was 4.5lbs. I caught 20+ on the Strikeback without loosing a single fish. I even tried to let a few of them get off and they just stuck. I fished it until the main blade went MIA while fighting a 6lber. There will be a new blade on it today. Like I told you, I'm determined to break the thing. This spinnerbait is awesome. It is totally solid. You get positive hook-ups every time and there is no way for the fish to gain leverage and shake the bait free. This design will revolutionize spinnerbait design. Congratulations go out to Bobby for making the best lure at ICAST. (IMO)
  17. That would be me. It's amazing how popular Fishing Kayaks have become in the past few years.
  18. They said Oct or Nov I think. They are awesome. They are calling it "Structure Scan". Just wait till you see the new "Down Scan" feature. It is a whole new way of looking directly under the boat.
  19. Don't worry to much about it unless you start seeing it in multiple fish. I could be a number of things from a parasite to a lack of something in it's diet.
  20. The new Abu rods do come out in 2010 (the red ones) but it's not the rod that we got the sneak peak at. The gold one was pull out of a box from behind the counter. We talked to the guy who designed it and he gave us strict instructions on what we could show and say about it. It is an awesome rod with new innovations. I can't wait till they finish tweaking it.
  21. Welcome Monk!!! My home lake is Clarks Hill. I also work weekends but Fri, Sat, Sun night. We'll have to try to hook up some time and hit one of the lakes up the Savannah. You're gonna love this site.
  22. Now that's what I'm talking about. lol
  23. 22lb 5oz. Enough for a tie but not for the solo record. Stupid rule.
  24. Buy only what you can afford. Expensive doesn't mean better. It's all about who's holding the rod, not the rod itself. Start off with just a Spinnerbait, Jig and worm. Learn everything about them and master them. Then branch out to a Crankbait and all other things. I wish I would have realized sooner that the most important thing to know when targeting bass is HOW TO FIND THEM. You can't catch them if they aren't where you are casting.
