Hooks on Sebile
I wouldn't change the size hooks on the Magic Swimmer. The lures ability to keep fish on the hook is comparable to the Lipless Crank. It's tough to keep them on the hook as is. If you change to a smaller hook it would be that much harder.

Storing Plastics....
Will you be keeping them in your boat or bank fishing?

Clarks Hill tournament, advice?
I fished all day today with one bite. The water temp has dropped to 48 and is muddy just about everywhere. The normal clear water lures you hear about just aren't working right now. The lake has risen 5 feet in the last week and is still on its way up. There is alot of large stuff floating all over the lake so be careful. With a few warm day due this weekend your tournament should be great.

Would you eat a pot bellied female bass full of eggs in the spring?
This is exactly right. This debate happens every year and it all boils down to this. The top warm water biologists in the country will tell you that if you are fishing in a large body of water then practicing C&R is just fine, but if you are managing a smaller body of water and you want big fish then you need to keep and eat a lot of smaller fish. If you don't then it will be detrimental to your fishery.

Pet peave's that shouldn't be
A Buckeye Spot Remover is not a Shaky Head!!!!!!!! It's a stand up jig head. It is fished totally different than a shaky head. If it didn't have a flat bottom then it would be a great shakey head just lake the others.

Clarks Hill tournament, advice?
I'll give you some general information. First of all. Safety. The lake is still very low and there a lot of humps and trees out in the middle of the lake that can take your boat away from you. Be careful and try to always run with the transducer reading. We have had a lot of rain lately and the lake is on the way up. (6+ inches a day) The Corps of Engineers has stopped letting water out of the dam and the lake will continue to rise for the next several days. Most of the lake is now either very muddy or stained. This morning the water temps were in the Low 50's. Fish your strengths. Find the fish and you will be able to catch them on just about anything. The hard part for the past few weeks has been finding the fish. But it looks like we will have stable weather through the week. The fishing should be awesome come Sat and Sun. If you see a tan 18ft Aluminum Triton with a Merc 90 on the back you better stop and say hi.

Life of a married man
That's true unless your wife is a pediatric nurse in a children's emergency room. Then it's like this. Wife catches something. Then, before the symptoms show, she kisses me and then I'm screwed. Then the kids get sick. On top of that. I work in the adult ER and that means that I bring it home sometimes. So between the kids school and our jobs we are just screwed all around. That's why we are hand washing freaks.

flurocarbin line
I had to cut back on line purchases last year. I have used Trilene and it's great, but BPS Fluorocarbon is just as good and a little less on the wallet.

Most money lost during a single trip....
I don't think I've lost more than 10 bucks worth of lures in a day.

New guy to the forum
Welcome back to bass fishing Steve. You're gonna like it here at BassResource.

Ok I'm officially offended..
Believe me, nobody wants a Spot Forum more than me. (That ain't a Largemouth in my Avatar.) But the attention to Spots just has not been there. If I go back four years I bet I don't find 20 threads about Spotted bass. I can't go to Glenn and say the need is there without anything to back it up. When we created the Small Mouth Forum we had nearly 300 threads to back it up.

That all depends on alot of things but I would say that most guys are spending between 300 and 500 for the trip. This does not include the three coming from the Leftcoast.

Now a dink forum we could pull off. We can call it Burley's Place.

Ok I'm officially offended..
We've talked about it but there just isn't enough activity pertaining to the Spotted Bass to even fill one page of a forum.
