  1. Yup... cork grip, graphite blank, metal guide frames and they wrapped it with thread- just like a GLX. ;D ;D ;D ;D The rumor is always that someone is or has compared it to Loomis... nevermind who says it, the context or if it's really even been said. : The dobyns rods might be the best thing out there... but given the trouble last time, I would wait until they hit the mainstream market before pronouncing them absolute greatness... a few people did that last time as well. I couldn't agree with you more. That's why I'm taking that with a grain of salt. I'll get some soon and I'll fish hard with them before I give my opinion on them. You have my promise that it will be an honest opinion. I don't compromise my integrity for anyone.
  2. You want a long rod 7' 3" or longer. Med/Hvy to Hvy acction. Some low streatch line. Some guys use braid with a fluorocarbon leader for the best hookset.
  3. I know there are some that have. But in GA the right to hunt and fish is written in our constitution, voted for by over 95% of voters. It just doesn't happen here.
  4. It's against the law to do that in Georgia. So nope, I've never had it happen.
  5. My wife tossed mine in the trash before I saw it.
  6. 10 casts. It doesn't matter if I'm on the bank or in a boat. If I'm by myself Ten is all I give them. If I'm with someone else it might be less. One thing I learned from 12+ years of bank fishing is that no matter what time of year I hit every point I can and every place where the creek channel comes close to the bank.
  7. I have two different Frog rods. If I'm covering water on an open grass bed I use a 7'6" H/XF. Like has been said there is a difference between a Flipping and a Pitching Rod. A Pitching Rod is what your looking for. The other one is a 6'8" H/Fast Rod. It's as stiff as a bat. I use this one when I'm in standing timber and need to make short accurate casts. It will turn the head of any fish and get them out of the thick stuff quick. It doubles as my dock rod.
  8. Most of us don't know anything about the new Dobyns rods. They haven't been distributed yet. Give it a few weeks and you'll have some opinions coming. Some people are compairing them to the Steez and the GLoomis GLX, but I ain't saying anything till I have fished one.
  9. Welcome to the family
  10. Run a line down the center of your boat. Then measure at 6" incriments along that line to the edge of the boat. Then transfer these measurments to your wood. Connect the dots and cut.
  11. Gene's Juice BBQ Sauce 6 tablespoons (packed) dark brown sugar ½ cup cider vinegar ¼ cup molasses ¼ cup honey ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce 2 tablespoons yellow mustard 1 tablespoon cinnamon 1 tablespoon liquid smoke 1 tablespoon pure chili powder (not a blend) 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper 2 teaspoons garlic powder ¼ teaspoon ground cloves 1 teaspoon ground allspice 4 cups ketchup Coarse salt (kosher or sea) and black pepper to taste 1. Combine all the ingredients, except for the ketchup, in a large, deep heavy, nonreactive saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook uncovered, until all the ingredients are dissolved, stirring constantly, about 5 minutes. Stir in the ketchup and bring to a boil, stirring well, as the ketchup has a tendency to spatter. Add salt and pepper to taste. 2. Reduce the heat slightly and gently simmer the sauce, uncovered, until dark, thick, and richly flavored, about 30 minutes, stirring often. Use right away or transfer to jars, cover, cool to room temperature, and refrigerate. The sauce will keep for several months. Makes 5 cups.
  12. The bass in Clarks Hill are beginning to move into the ditches. You will find the largest bass associating themselves to the river and creek channels. Find the bait and you'll find the bass.
  13. It may be because you won't find many Striper fishermen on a Black bass fishing site.
  14. Welcome to the family.
  15. I do know that Senko77 will be doing tank demonstrations at the Atlanta BPS. But I haven't heard anything else.
  16. It's a scam. If you do a google search for the very first line. (This Champion boat has been my baby since new.) You will also see it used to be listed in Alaska. I also found it in New Haven, New York, Burlington, Delaware, Chattanooga, Tampa, Dayton, Los Angeles, Tucson and the list goes on and on.
  17. Wow!!! This is going to be awesome.
  18. Do the dams have generating schedules and phone numbers to call to get them?
  19. I'll take you for free if you don't have any Shimano Reels. If you have them then I hope you can swim.
  20. Welcome home. I'm glad your safe.
  21. When we owe them money they charge us interest. Why can't you charge them interest on one month past due.
  22. Awesome, You'll love having a boy. Congrats to you and your wife.
  23. I did that several times in one day but I was using a Double Fluke Rig. It's supposed to do that. How did you catch two fish on one hook? :-?
