  1. A Coosa River Rat. Welcome, you'll love it here.
  2. RW, I had the same problem with thier light stuff, but there have been great improvments on their fluorocarbon line in the last few years. It is good stuff now.
  3. That's great Carl. I'm very happy for the both of you.
  4. There are 4 power hook-ups in the Lodge parking lot. Bring an extension cord.
  5. My fishing partner has one and so far he has been very impressed with the rod. It looks good to.
  6. Being that they are fishing the Red River I would think that it will be nothing but LONG runs. If you are up to that then I say do it. It's fun to follow the pros around and try to see what they are doing. I enjoy the expo more because I get to meet the pros and legends of bass fishing.
  7. It's true that many people here on Clarks Hill throw Pencil Poppers but I don't. Those big monsters wear me out. I have just as much success with a clear Super Spook Jr. As for the Gizzard shad debate. There are many pros here in the south that call the gizzard shad the Southern Trout. Big bass love them. The best immitation of a Gizzard shad that I've seen is this one. It's called the Bull Shad. He also makes a Blueback Herring
  8. I can't set up for Spring yet. I'm still fishing the winter bite. I caught 17 on Friday.
  9. The deposit for the Lodge is one night's rate.
  10. The Pflueger reels have very light drags. They max out at about 8lbs. This is one application where the Revo Reels shine. With a Max drag of 22lbs you can turn the head of any bass in the thickest cover.
  11. Holy crap, I didn't even think about that. I can suck heads with the best of them. One of my best friends in the Army was a Coonass. He taught me right. Your on man. Glenn, Sorry. No steak this year. We're eatin Mud Bugs.
  12. The highlight of the classic for me is the chance to meet the members. I love it. Glenn and I will be at the Expo each day working the booths. If you see two guys wearing tan BassResource shirts come up and say hi. We will also try to have another dinner planned for Friday or Saturday night at a nearby steakhouse so we can all meet up and chew the fat.
  13. This trip isn't just for members who have been around for a long time. This is open to every member new or old, experienced or newbee. So don't be afraid that you will be left out if you come.
  14. Oh yea. Our new Split and Splice function. We can spread a thread all over the forums. 8-)
  15. Is there any water left in Hartwell?
  16. Very important We need to know who is going be bringing/renting a boat and who is coming without one. Also if you will have any open seats in that boat for those who will need a ride. Please PM me and let me know.
  17. Super Fluke Spot Remover jighead with a Zoom Finesse worm dipped in JJ's Magic Bandit Flat Maxx O Nellie Spinnerbait Buckeye Mop Jig
  18. I'd leave the snake at home and take a spinnerbait and something Texas Rigged.
  19. That is great David. I am glad you got out and wet a line. It's been a long time.
  20. Fact about bass - A bass will grow throughout its entire life so long as it has food to eat. One day without food is one day's worth of growth lost. So the factors that affect growth are quantity and quality of the food the bass consumes. The length of the growing seasons change every year, but never by more than a few days one way or the other. So I don't think climate change caused this one fish to get 4lbs bigger than any other fish before of after it. If the WR bass was able to get the quality and quantity of food that it needed to get to 22lbs why didn't anyone else catch a fish that was similar in size and growth rate?
  21. The current Magic Swimmer sinks at 6 inches a second.
  22. I totally agree. GET IT!!!!! I got mine last year and I love it. I'm going to a new section of my lake and I will spend the first hour or so looking for some deep ledges. With my SI unit I'm able to find these spots in 1/10 of the time. Sign up for the Yahoo group and they will shorten the learning curve for ya.
  23. I will dropshot anything. I was useing 10 inch worms last Summer. lol My favorites are Roboworms and Zoom finesse worms.
