    Welcome
  3. Welcome from one Georgian to another. Where do you fish?
  4. Read everything ever written by Buck Perry. Learn your electronics. Even the cheep ones can be useful if you know how to read them. Don't be afraid to spend hours just looking. Keep a marker buoy ready at all times. Read everthing ever written by Buck Perry. Fluke PS Read everthing ever written by Buck Perry.
  5. Aaron Martins Bobby Lane Bill Lowen
  6. After fishing with Timmy Horton last year I decided that I needed to learn to skip with baitcasting gear. Thanks to Senko77 for helping me get over that hump. Skipping a Jig way under a dock is a must on many of the lakes that I fish, so it was important that I learned. All of the advice just given is great but if you want the most out of skipping using a pitch or sidearm cast you need to remember that you have to have velocity. The faster you get that lure moving the better. Don't sissy it. Low and fast is the trick.
  7. I can't believe this but I got nothing related to fishing for Christmas. All I wanted was a good set of cast iron Dutch Ovens, and that is exactly what I got. And my little brother got me a sweet Georgia Bulldog pull-over that I'll be wearing on the BR Roadtrip.
  8. Try this. Park your boat in the middle of the lake and get up on the edge of the front deck. Then look straight up and count to five..... (Make sure the water is warm and you have your life jacket on before doing this.) ;D
  9. I've had my Revos for nearly a year and fished them for over 100 days last year and they are still just as smooth as they were after the first time I cleaned and lubed them.
  10. David, That's my favorite picture of your dad. Thank you for sharing and thanks for raising a daughter who could put up with me fishing all the time.
  11. Varner is the place to go if you want a chance at true monster of a bass. Randall's rates are very low because he doesn't have to put gas in his boat. You can't go wrong with two or three days out with him. Then from Covington you can reach sevaral great lakes that are within a 45min drive from there. (Oconee, Jackson, Sinclair, Lanier)
  12. That was cool. Thanks for sharing.
  13. I just set up a 55gal tank a few weeks ago. I got it when I was your age and it's been at my parents house since I graduated High School. One word of advice. Rinse your gravel before you put it in your tank. Use a colander and a five gallon bucket. I know that the bag says pre-washed but it still need to have the dust knocked off.
  14. That's great man. How big is it?
  15. Oh and I make a Sexy Shad Fluke using JJ's. lol
  16. I got a chance to go to an after tournament dinner last year where KVD and Mark Zona showed up. I got to talk one on one with KVD and we talked about the Sexy Shad color. His response was something like this. "It's all about confidence. I fish that color because I have the most confidence in it. If I were catching alot of fish on a different color I'd fish that the most."
  17. Dude, I have been in the doghouse so many times for leaving a worm that I've dipped in JJ's hanging on one of my rods. I have a drawer in my garage that has about 10 bottles of JJ's in it and I can't open it for to long our she will smell it in the house. lol All I say to her is "Sorry honey, but the stuff works."
  18. I have two of them and they are just like the old style. I love them.
  19. and how old is it?
  20. Listen Up!!! Looking at cabins and rooms at the lodge it looks like the lodge is going to be the place to reserve a room this year. The reason for this is that the cabins only come with two beds. Last year they had four beds at about the same price so we were able to save alot money by splitting it four ways. This year it will be cheaper to get a room at the Lodge and split that cost between the two people. From past experience we have learned that the camaraderie is the best when we stay close together. So those who are not bringing their bed with them please try to reserve a room in the Lodge.
  21. Dude, I know just how you feel. Here's my 9.98lb LM. My 4.9lb Spotted Bass.
  22. Not a problem. We are as family frendly on the trips as we are on here.
  23. Campsites are 18 bucks a night. It doesn't matter what the temp is to me. I love to camp. I'll be camping the entire week after Christmas and last month I spent four days in the woods in sub-freezing temps. I have a 90hp motor on the back of my aluminum boat that is great on gas. Dinners will be provided each night so all I have to plan for is breakfast and lunch on the boat. One stop at Wal-Mart along the way should take care of that.
