fishingnotes.com-Water temps and reports accurate??
I don't think this site does any research on each lake. The reports seem very general for this time of year. I checked my home lake and they have a report for Walleye and Sauger and Spotted Bass. That would be great if Clarks Hill had those species of fish in it, but it doesn't. Their reports are based strictly on assumed water temps. The actual water temps are much warmer right now.

Fish Kill - Where are the pics...
My fear is that BASS won't even consider a change, because a change will be an acknowledgement of the fishkill at Falcon. I hope Trip isn't trying to sweep it under the carpet. I also think we need to stay on this topic and when all the facts are out we should put pressure on those involved to do something about it. For right now we need to help educate any tournament official or Club president on the options out there to keep fish alive during and long after a tournament. Lane and Tony of Sure Life are leaders in this endeavor and we should do all we can to help them. I know that Sure Life are our sponsors but as of this moment they possibly have the best solution for almost any tournament fishkill problems. If you care about the fish that you catch and weigh-in during your tournaments then take this information and test it for yourself.

Humminbird Side Imaging - What's your take on these?
To add to the last post. I wouldn't put a SI unit on the trolling motor. You need to be going at least 3mph to get a good reading and as you swing the trolling motor around it will distort the image. The best setup that I have seen is the SI on the console and a 767 2D unit on the front. The 767 has a great quad view feature that covers more of the bottom than any other transducer. The two units are interlinked and share GPS waypoints and information.

Brand Worms
Both. A bass is a bass no matter what size the body of water is and now matter what part of the country or world you are fishing.

Will bass die if they swallow plastic worms?
They can stay in the fish's stomach for a long time. It will limit the amount of food the fish can eat resulting in slower growth but they will still be healthy. As has been already stated. They can lodge in the digestive track keeping the fish from digesting any food and if they can't get it out they will die. This is why we shouldn't toss our used plastic overboard.

Brand Worms
I won't say that that Zoom is the best but they do have the largest selection of shapes, colors and sizes. They are my preferred choice because they are easy to find in my favorite types and colors.

Fishing stained water?
To me stained water can be fished with most any color. My favorite is Green Pumpkin and I dip the tail in chartreuse JJ's Magic to make it easier for the fish to zero in on. Many colors work in stained water. I steer away from the see through colors like Watermelon or Redbug. I like the worm to have a good silhouette so the fish can see it quickly. I still stay with natural colors though. (Greens, Black, Browns)

Buckeye Wakebait
We used one today. They are wood, I'm not sure what kind though. They seem a little to heavy to be balsa. Maybe basswood. I love the action, it should be great for schooling fish. Unfortunately the fish didn't cooperate today. They wanted it on the bottom so we fed them a C-Rig. We did get allot of follows on it from some great looking fish though.

Fish Kill - Where are the pics...
**** Mod Edit**** I had to edit out several personal attacks on both sides of this argument. Please remember that there is really only one rule here, and that is to treat each other with respect. If you cannot, or will not do that, then it's time to move on. This is turning into an "I'm right, and you're wrong" argument, with emotions taking over. Maybe it's time to take a deep breath and step away from the computer for awhile.

Newbe to Site, not to Bass fishing
Welcome. I lived in Grants Pass for a little while in the mid 90's. There is some great fishing down there. That is some beautiful country.

Looking to expand my bass knowledge...
This site has over 200,000 pages of information about bass fishing. It is the largest bass fishing website on the internet. If you can't find it here I would be very surpised. There are three different search engines here. The one for the articles is located on the Home Page half way down on the left side. There are two for the forums. The box at the top right with the magnifying glass next to it is a quick one and for a more indepth search there is the search botton at the top command bar. Welcome and have fun reading. If you have any questions feel free to ask here on the forums. There is nothing but respect here.

Humminbird Side Imaging - What's your take on these?
I just took mine out for it's first spin today. Let me tell you it is wonderful. I spent a little time on a forum just for the side imaging sonars and I learned a lot about how to read them. It's a simple unit and most people shouldn't have a problem learning it. I installed it in a few hours with no problems. I have an aluminum boat so I won't be able to use it while on plane but the Navionics chip keeps me on the water and off the ground. In only a few hours I found 6 roadbeds that aren't on the map. 15 or 20 brushpiles and some standing timber that's 12 feet deep at the top. I could see the fish hiding in the tree. I saw a log with a fish next to it in 12 ft of water. I went over a few of my hotspots and found out why they always had fish on them. It cuts my search for fish and cover in half leaving me more time to catch.

Did anyone hear when he said that he used Catch and Release to save that fish that was bleeding? That's awesome. I've said it a bunch of times. C&R is the real deal.

Skinny bass question
I talked with Bob Lusk extensively about this a few weeks ago. He had a client who had caught a bass that was that skinny but all his other bass were fairly healthy. Bob had his client put the fish on ice and overnight it to him so he could preform an autopsy on the fish. When he cut the fishes stomach open he found the problem. The bass had a large soft plastic lure lodged in the exit of the stomach. This prevented the bass from getting any nutrients out of the food he ate. This is why whe shouldn't toss our used soft plastics overboard. Something like this could be the problem with that fish. I've never seen one that skinny after the spawn.
