Free catalogues
they dont offer just bass fishing. and maybe its all in there for master, if so, then cool. I ordered the BPS master catalogue was geared towards hunting and left out much of their fishing. I didn't know if cabelas was the same. the guy posted before to order their bass fishing catalogue, but they dont have one.

trolling for bass
trolling has to be the easiest way to find em and catch 'em. I love to do it when I'm feelin lazy, or tired of casting. (? lol) I have been reading "In Pursuit of Giant Bass", and I have yet to come to where Bill Murphy talks about trolling, but he has mentioned that its a great method. I'm thinking he does it a bit different.

Slow or fast presentations
u said they stressed reaction strikes... might they be referring to bouncing it off of stuff to, basically, hit the bass in the head thats sittin on the other side of some cover? a crankbait gettin stuck in grass, coming free, and a bass strikes it makes sense. I could see how that looks like the bait is injured and weak. I haven't tried it much, but have tried it, just gotta try some more. haven't had much luck on bouncin off of things. now falling out of things. like trees, docks, etc into the water is great stuff. dont get stuck though. er, I use plastics often. mostly never mean to, but am not mad when it happens, cause I can get it out as long as I aint yankin and sendin the hook thru anything. I think that new squared lipped crankbait is meant to have a steady retrieve, because of its extremely wide wobble it does.

Free catalogues
I checked cabelas, they dont have one available for bass fishing. :-/

Free catalogues
wasn't sure if this was to be posted here or 'everthing else' section I went to bassproshops site to order a freshwater fishing catalogue and after a few emails, found out bassproshops freshwater catalogue is out of stock and wont be available until 2006. I went to cabelas and they don't offer a freshwater fishing catalogue. so I was wondering how that works and why they seem dont have more available until next year?

carolina rig bite
was usin a carolina rig last night, usin a tube/lizard, some bait by strikeking. I was watchin bill dance the other week, and he was talkin about putting a foam earplug (cut the piece going in ur ear off) and shoving it up in the tube. with a carolina rig, it makes it fall quick, and then a reaaaal slow fall. actually, I think it was floating, so I need to put a small pellete weight in first perhaps. just picturing it though, seems like it would be deadly. to fall quick until the weight touches bottom, and then just barely decend after that.

Break in the heat question?
now wouldn't the shallows get cooled off by a few cool days from a storm front? I thought that was the purpose of nightfishing, instead of during the day? I know the water doesn't cool off alot, but I thought the shallows might a little bit. then again, like raul said, not enough for the fish to know the difference? I guess fishing in the heat has to do more with us though.

night fishing in stained/muddy water
or a buzz-bait on the rocks... lmao

Slow or fast presentations
with deep divers, thats what I do is just retrieve it. sometimes faster, soemtimes slower. in the middle, I kill it. with hard jerkbaits, I have fished a while givin it short jerks, pause, and continue. no response, so I just gave it a steady retrieve and thats what they were lookin for. the other night, me and a buddy were fishin, and he was usin that square lipped crankbait. we hadn't had any bites all night, he put that thing on and retrieved it rather quickly. and had a few bites. but I see what nwgabass is talkin about. I donno if I'd go as far as to say a wasted cast. them bass must have been quite wasted then.

night fishing in stained/muddy water
lol, nah, shes just the way she is supposed to be. amazing how she balances herself out at times. tomorrow I'm goin fish with a buddy, all the rain we're gettin, and tomorrow as well... should be interesting. but we're lookin for a lunker or two. or three. one will do fine though. great spot, great structure. donno what kind of cover it has, but wonderful structure. so we'll see what it produces. even if its rainin. ;D

Pressure and Rain
great info guys! I went out last night around 12am, until 3am... not much biting, some bass under a dock kept chasin somethin around, got him to bite once, but missed him somehow. wind picked up a bit, and a storm came in within seconds. It was movin too, at high speeds. was interesting, but I got off the water. big time electrical storm. its sunny how today, so I'm goin after class to see about any bites.

Braided line
well, I tried some braid on my baitcaster. it was the 4lb diameter-15lb kind. well, I casted it once, and with a snap of your finger it poofed up into one huge birdnest. now I'm fully aware of my ignorance to the small line diameter. but I no longer put it on my baitcaster, for some reason.....

Fullmoon
well, like they say, whatever gives you confidence to catch them fish!

night fishing in stained/muddy water
I get like that often. so I'll grab another rod and just cast the impatience out of me with a crankbait or spinnerbait, or somethin. btw, that x-rap is pretty underwater!

My Lack of Confidence in Night Fishing
I appreciate it, I'll let y'all know how it went. The place I imagine I'll be fishin is just one bank with a spill way, docks on one side of it, and a small cove next to a bigger cove on the other. we'll see how it works.

Coming in for a landing
yeah, LBH, you beat me to the point. lifting 4lb fish out of the water on 8lb line might be where the problem lies. either that, or you bought a bad spool of fishing line. that is, if your knots are good and your line isn't frayed from bites, etc...

top water frogs
all this info, I may be setting up for this sometime soon.

My Lack of Confidence in Night Fishing
whew! I have no doubt in my mind about nightfishing now. lmao thanks raul, LBH, fluke, senko, er... ok, everyone... chris you didn't leave much out that u don't use, so I get the point perfectly. so I'll be fishing at night, just like I would during the day....

winter
The catholics have a term for this: purgatory!

Fullmoon
I have to agree, tides only apply to the ocean. I donno about the bass, but I would much rather fish in the full moon, than any other time at night. if there is any science to it.
