  1. i have a lot of Shimano rods and ive had the opposite. M/F is more like a Fast. and thats all of their rods, especially the Cumara.
  2. that action makes a great fluke, tube, and weightless worm rod.
  3. this is what i love about this place right here..
  4. if it were me, id remove the line and set the spool in a small amount of acetone (just enough to cover the bearing) and let it soak over night. you can also remove the bearing retainer clip that holds the bearing in the palm side plate and soak it over night as well. in hind sight id pick a side, add a drop of oil and see if that changes the noise. that would tell you which side is screaming. then id flush/lube.
  5. oil the spool bearings, after you flush them if possible.
  6. i feel old...............we used to have Mules and thats how we would follow the dogs. good times..
  7. id buy the reel that feels the best. then buy a Berkley Shock rod over the Mojo.
  8. One thing I should have brought up is the Daiwa Fuego. The reel is IMO the most under rated Daiwa reel out there. One serviced by any of the forum techs will handle like a dream.
  9. i never thought about boat size and Melvern. my fathers 16' V is about as small as id go on the lake. my boat does ok on the lake.
  10. a lot of 15" fish, had a hand full of 18-20" fish. sounds good. ill keep you posted for future plans out there.
  11. im such a sucker for Melvern. id learn every curve and channel in the place.
  12. in 90% of the worlds hands, a Pixy is an expensive Sol. a Sol serviced correctly on the correct rod IMO cant be beat.
  13. this too. the best beater rod, bar none.
  14. sounds like over kill. why not try a 54 lbs thrust motor first?
  15. i beat the tar out of kill creek yesterday with a spook. fun fishing.
  16. not a fan of the MH/XF Cumara. IMO Shimano rates these rods lighter that what they are. the M/XF has a ton of backbone and will handle a 1/2 oz spinnerbait with ease. on a side note, these rods for under $200 is a steal.
  17. id guess the yoke is no longer holding the pinion gear in place. just a guess though.
  18. i was on the water a grand total of maybe 30 mins. d**n rain.
  19. im doing kill creek early tomorrow, ive got no second. anyone wants on the back let me know or show up.

Marlin 336 lever 30-30. wish i still had that thing, traded it for a Ruger 77R .308
  21. this spot has paid off big time now that the water is close to 92 degrees.
  22. we did very well at Kill Creek tonight. Texas rigged purple plastic curly tail.
