  1. Huh... Thought this was going to be a thread about spiderbites :-/
  2. I've heard of some guys that tell their VTO's to not talk, but with all three of my guys, I was able to pick their brain and BS with them. I feel bad when I drew Steve. I was really tired and he was really sucking at catching fish , so I curled up on the back deck and slept. (JK, He didn't suck, the bite just really SUCKED , not many people weighed fish)
  3. I think it would be cool to be a VTO for one of those. You're right though, HBC is starting to look like Medium Bass Classic.... HA!! Medium at best. The weights of the last two winners equaled the weight of the first winner. HBC-4 at Don Pedro was won with a ~3.83 The VTO thing is only cool if you have friends there or you draw somebody cool. This was the first time I went without any of my buddies. LUCKILY, I drew Russ Graves. He's a pretty good stick around here and fishes most lakes I do. But other than that it was kinda lame. They didn't give us much in the lines of gifts. HBC-4 I drew Steve P. (He's a member on this board) so that was pretty sweet. Then HBC-2 I went with 4bizz and us and some other guys stayed up till 1 in the morning and drank. Then had to be up at 330... Good times I've done the last three out of four, but won't be doing the next one.
  4. As much as I despise EVERYTHING associated with BPS and what it stands for... this is a really sweet bag. I use it for my main tackle bag. I have an older version than what they sell now but it has held up GREAT to 25#'s of gear. I mainly bought it for the backpack feature, but now that I have a boat it still doubles as a boat bag. This bag is really well thought out. Plenty of pockets, glasses pocket, inside pockets, water bottle holders, etc. There are only 2 or 3 products from BPS that I would "endorse" or recommend. This is one of them. I am not disappointed with my purchase and I think you would be happy with it as well. Well worth the $$$

G Loomis IMX MBR844 + Chronarch BSV = $225 shipped I actually got it from a member on BR. Can't remember who it was, but was a smokin deal I couldn't resist >
  6. Well If I was a Mer-man i would still have it. Unfortunately tossed mine into 65 FOW >
  7. Wow... whoever told you it was a "Wonder Lure" was a lying sack of cr!p. Well think of it this way, you just invested in a $20 keychain with hooks ;D
  8. Cali is overrated... i'd go somewhere else. Especially in Jan-Feb, it's a tough bite over here. That isn't a "numbers" time of year, yet alone a topwater bite lol.
  9. The first one is always tough to grasp. But after the first it doesn't faze me. I have lost a few hudds and Baitsmith Magnums.... you get over it lol. I did happen to loose an extremely customized bait this year. I think there were only 10 or less like this one. The line snapped when I cast it. I have never been that ticked off fishing... it really hurt :'( . But that was just a bad day, me and a buddy lost well over $200 in baits that day. Including that custom one.
  10. Didn't you hear... fashion and style are hip too ;D :-[ ... actually I saw it one the front page of yahoo
  11. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/13/fashion/13POTBELLY.html?_r=3&scp=1&sq=hip%20to%20be%20round&st=cse?no_interstitial The verdict is in.... I'm HIP!! ;D
  12. Scheels is a pretty sweet "All-Around" shop. Definitely different from what I was used to in Cali. I would highly recommend it if you are over that way!!
  13. One thing to check is the regulations on your lakes. I know we have a handful of lakes in Cali that only allow 4 strokes... I know this is Cali, but it would be a good thing to check where you are at
  14. Hmmm, i've never gone there for the good stuff or good prices... I always go there for the hot girls
  15. The bite is kinda sucky right now... but go punch the mats. 1 oz tungsten pegged. Watermelon or Pumpkinseed sweet beaver. Try to hit it when the tide is coming in or going out. I fished thursday and helped out with a tourney on friday. The thursday bite was pretty good with moving water, but once the tide was flat the bite shut down. Work the points where there is moving water and you will find the fish. Couldn't tell you where we fished, but we went out of Russo's Marina. There were also rumors that the stripers are comin in. You could always try using a punker and hitting the striper action BTW, the tourney won with a 6.93#er.... kinda sad for the delta :-/
  16. HAHA, that guy is STILL there. It's pretty funny watching him. He will setup on the less busy side, and you can watch the sidewalk on the other side fill up with people and stare at his "work". He definately gets some people going. I watched him do it to this old man once. The old man kicked him in the shin... funny stuff ;D At least those homeless people "work" instead of beg :-/
  17. Take a taxi to Hi's. I haven't been there since their relocation... But it was a pretty cool place then, so I would assume it is just as good. Fisherman's Warf area is notorius for the freak shows (Or sidewalk shows... whatever you want to call it.) It's very entertaining if your a people watcher. But yes the weather has been great lately. You hit us right during a small cool down. So now you can tell your goat friends that cali isn't everything that it's hyped up to be :
  18. Darnit... I voted for the bikini girl over 100 times... ;D J/K... GREAT JOB PAUL
  19. it's a no brainer... : Matts hardgills are definately at the top. But remember a "Realistic Looking" swimbait has 2 characteristics that make it realistic, body shape/detail and color/scheme. Matt just happens to excel in both with his hardgills.
  20. Wait... whats the Roadtrip? Nobody ever told me about a Roadtrip. I'm beginning to have lots of questions about BR... is there a centralized location that can answer all my questions?
  21. Aye, 30-100% is the usual. One shop comes to mind :
  22. That would be SWEET at Glamis or Sand Mountain... Those punks would eat my dust... 8-)
  23. Swimbaits are overrated... stick to senkos
  24. It would help if you mentioned what type of swimbait. There are thousands of "Soft Swimbaits"...
  25. X2 X3 His pre "8 Crazy nights" era is his best IMO.
