Industry role models
I would definatley say the PVA director we met today, LBH. I was just like "wow!" I couldnt believe how into it he was and jsut a great guy, donating his time and efforts to make others happy. As for fisherman I would say Ike without question. Mainly because he is from up north and he just doesnt care what anyone thinks. I have been able to go to a couple of Bassmaster Classics and seen things that he has done off camera and he is just a great guy. Not what he is seen as on TV as this screaming nut who breaks light poles and break dances. He is really for the youth and making changes for the better in B.A.S.S. Pro tourney's.

What bugs or animals do you despise?
Snakes and Ticks. Also cant stand swans. In a local lake I had one approach the boat when I flipped a fish in. And a buggy of mine got a whooping from one, and got a ton of sttitches. lol

good crank
Strike King series 1 cranks around docks or a sereis 3. Like tenesse shad, arkansas shad, or the SEXY shad. I havent found sexy shad in a series one yet.

The Fishing Offseason
O come on, I'm from New England too, you dont need to stop fishing . We can usually fish until January and still catch fish, then dont fish from mid-January till March. As for that month and a half, to two month lay-off, I go crazy, usually watch all old Bassmaster episodes, read all old BASS Times and Bassmaster magazines. It is just horrible, change all treble hooks, I accually waste my time and wait for that ice to go out. And as for that high school issue, just go all the time then when May and June come around convince your parents that you can afford to miss a few days because you havent missed one yet and the fish are on beds. Thats what I did anyway. 8-) Just wait till your in college, I'm doing the winter semester this year and not fall so I could fish and work Its awsome!!!

Strange Jig-Bite...
I was really considering that but I didnt want to jump to that idea. I just want some input so I can learn and figure out if there was something I could have done different. I fish that place about 25-30 times a year and have never seen anything like today.
-
How would you fish it and why?
I would start on one of those points that has the grassline on the side, specifically where you said it is like a 6 foot flat. Chunking a spinnerbait or buzzbait over the top. Then as the sun gets up I would either pitch it with a black/blue laminate beaver if the grass in dense, or just keep it simple and dead stick a senko. And just move up and down that point, also look for llittle things about the grass that is different than the rest and fish that hard. If that doesnt produce, when it starts getting hot, go shallow and pitch the bads with a jig. Good luck.

My FIRST Jig fish :)
Nice job! Think you already overcame the hardest part of the jig, and thats getting confidence in it and getting that first big fish. Stick with it

Strange Jig-Bite...
Ok fishing a tourney today, and missed 3 fish first thing on a jig. Throwing a 3/8 oz, Terminator Pro Top secret, in black and blue, with a zoom super chunk on the back. You would either see your line taking off to the side, or you would feel that initial thump, set tthe hook and no fish on the other end. All 3 times when I reeled up the jig half the trailer is missing. And the thumps or weight you would feel isnt that of a sunfish or a small fish, they all felt solid. So I went to a quarter ounce with the same trailer, and then a smaller trailer for about a hour and a half and didnt get touched. Then went back to a 3/8 with a smaller trailer, nothing, go back to a super chunk trailer, picked a 3 pounder then missed 2 more in the last hour. I have been pretty much living by a jig the past 3 years and just couldnt figure this one out. Talked to a few good jig fisherman that I know I can trust after the tourney and they said the exact same thing. Just a wierd bite, like they were short striking, but wouldnt hit a smaller or light jig. Also, on this lake it usually takes 5 for 12 pounds + to win. Today it was a guy with a 5 pounder and another for 7 pounds, I had 3rd, with just over 5 pounds. There were 18 boats and a lot of 1 fish weigh-ins. Any input. Was it me, the jig-bite, the lake? I'm really confused right know...

He's got lots of practive using these program on the fish he catches.

Big time mistake..........stupid stupid stupid
Guess what ---- happens and there is nothing you can do about it sometimes. If you know or now know that you did something wrong, just learn from it and dont let it happen again. Thats all you can do, dont loose sleep over it or let it haunt you. Unless it something that happened to Aaron Martens in Pittsburgh or Wylie or Lay.

Skunk, maybe its my nerves????????
1. Use you instinct!!!! That way you dont get frustrated after and think what if? 2. Use what you are confident in. 3. Never stick fish till you have to. 4. Said it before, I'll say it again... JUST GO FISHING! 5. Never have bananas in the boat... lol.... Have a good time, be safe, and look at it as just another day on the h2o.

The new Comanche Z12 !!!!!
1. Where is front trolling motor so I can back-boat ya? 2. Need a microwave, deep fryer, and coffee maker, so we can be the official Dunkin Donuts boat of ...you know where? 3. Definatley cant be a Comanche z12 because I KNOW there are Triton stickers on that boat. How about a TR-12X?

Three Inch Sluggo on Light Line
If you know that a bass "slapped" your bait, do one of two things. Either let it fall like a dying baitfish or speed it up making it look like it is trying to get way.
-
Scenario!
1. Follow the bait, the mouths of creeks and coves with a crank. This pattern might not start though untill you have had a week or so of cold nights and mornings that effect the surface temp or if the water temp. just starts dropping real fast over the span of a few days. IMP I think the fish realize that winter and the cold temps are coming after a few cold mornings, and then they start feeding. Atleast, that is what I have come to realize on my usual lakes. 2. I would still pitch the deadfalls and such in that "river section" no matter what time of year. But I can be thick-headed when it comes to that. If I see a tree or something I HAVE to try a jig on it. If you have any bridges in the area where you have seen those schools of baitfish try fishing them with flukes on a sworming hornet head or a rat-l-trap.

Torre and NYYankees Split
I'm a proud member of Red Sox Nation but believe Torre is one of the best managers ever. The fact is Mr. S. has put together an all-star team, and those just dont function well. It takes chemistry and a team. Not 12 individuals and a team of a few. Look at recent teams that have won recent world series, RED SOX, Angels, ChiSox, even the Cardinals. If you are not a fan of the team you can't name more than 2 or 3 players, they are a "bunch of nobodies" really. But they are a TEAM.

Sorry LBH
This is starting to get just mean. LBH can fish................................................................................................................... ;D No really, he can fish and has more knowledge of the fish (migration, feeding,ect...) than anyone I have ever met, and I have learned soooo much from him this year. I can honestly say that the tourney I won last Sunday was based on two patterns that I would have never even bothered with if it wasnt for fishing and talking to him. When it comes to deeper aqua in Rhode Island, I would say he is one of the better fisherman.

The Baitmonkey strikes again!
So I need jig trailers and a haircut (moms mad because my hair is starting to curl over my hat). So I take out $40 and head over to grab some super and jr. chunks. Well I walk in and it just so happens for some reason Zoom and Strike King are right next to each other in the aisle. Well pick up a couple packages of trailers and I look to my left and OHHH BOY! In a box, not on the shelf yet are all Strike King Sexy shad series 3-6 and Sexy Shad Red Eyes (Strike kINGS new version of a rat-l-trap. Well lets just say the total came to 40.18, good thing I had a quarter in my pocket and moms still mad.

Fishing stained,murkey, DIRTY water.. CONTINUED!!
Polo pond is off-limits tomorrow :'(. But there isnt much to fish off-shore, unless you mean the car, lol. That place barely has 6" of visibility except in May and June when the grass comes in, but then they spray it and it looks like some color (dont even know what to call it) inbetween chocolate milk and a green. lol. All I can tell you is power fish, traps, jigs, and big spinnerbaits. It odd though, usually a double willow will out fish a colorado blade most the time. Its one of the many Rhodey ponds that dont go by the rules. And whats with all this trash talk, even if our lakes our sewers and what not, just makes us better fisherman.

Boat ramp Morons!!!!

The Baitmonkey strikes again!
Because of one day and twenty fish, I just had to get a bunch of Terminator Pro Top Secret Jigs. About $200 bucks worth to be exact. The worst part is I have all jigs and no trailers. lol. Have to wait till next Friday to get those flippin blue, black, and green pumpkin Paca craws. :'(

Fishing stained,murkey, DIRTY water.. CONTINUED!!
I live in Rhodey and do a lot of nasty water fishing. The fish are too hard to get, just do one of two things, skip a senko type bait (black/blue laminate) up under the brush, hit the shore, and drag it off a little bit. Go with a 6' medium spinng rod with 20 lb. power pro braid. Or skip a jig (1/2 oz) straight black. If you cant go under the brush with a jig, GO THROUGH IT! Go to a 3/4 or 1 oz. with heavy heavy brain and a heavy action rod.
