Yeah, they essentially wanted me to eat the $40 discount I got in March when I "traded in" a reel. I shoulda asked for that reel back ;D

I have 6 of these baits and I've caught fish on them. They have decent actions, good hooks, and I haven't run into any issues with respect to durability - except paint durability. The paint seems to chip off very easily. Once they are used up, I won't get anymore, I have all the baits Paul recommended Jackall Girons, Mikey Jrs and Sebile Magic Swimmers (and a local store to buy them - which helps, too). I've only fished th Girons but the Girons seem to be much nicer baits. Girons sink (the SK floats), but they sink slowly and always parallel to the surface. I recommend the Girons over the SKs.

I bought a Johnny Morris Elite baitcaster during the Spring Classic. It's BPS's top-end reel and it usually sells for $219, but I got it for $40 off due to a reel-trade in. Over the last few weeks it hasn't acted right and my casting distance serious diminished. It also developed a whine that oiling only fixed temporarily. It had a one-year warranty so I decided to exercise it. I took it back to the store and explained my problem. The receipt shows $219 with $40 off for reel trade in. I decided to replace it with another Revo for $199. But I was told that since I got it on sale, that's all I could get back was the sale price. That struck me as odd. Had I bought the Revo back then, I would have gotten $40 off that reel. Since this was a replacement reel, I had to argue that. I pointed out the warranty allowed me to return it for reel of equal value. Therefore, it only made sense to apply the discount I got then to the replacement reel I got today. (What they were telling me was that I couldn't even replace with with EXACTLY the same reel since the same reel today costs $219.) This is a warranty issue, for goodness sake. After arguing that to several levels of manager, they relented. I walked out with my new Revo. The downside of this is that I wll never buy another BPS branded rod or reel. The reel was fine for 5 months. I can understand a defect. But I can't take it when people disregard logic. Arguing with them was like arguing with my wife. The upside is is that of anything goes wrong with my Revo, I know I won't have a wrranty problem.

The BPS in Hampton has a pond that is stocked with nice bass and catfish. Some real whoppers have comeout of that pond.

Hooker's Williamsburg store and his new Lightfoot store already have tons of really nice hardbaits. He's a little light on rods and reels for now, since he apparently split his current stock between stores. But he's got a load of new reels coming in. I like Dave's, too. Most of my jigs are Daves and I bought most of them from Hookers.

Hooker Bait and Tackle's new store on RT60 in Lightfoot is open. Stopped by today and picked up a few Sebile Magic Swimmers. Those are pretty good pics, Burley. It does look lower-profiled than the Citica. I'm interested in seen one in person. I'd like to here how it casts light baits.

Is the frame REALLY smaller than the 100D? I can't imagine that and wonder if it's true?

My local dealer sells HMXs for $79-90 and HMGs for $99-$109. I've partook of that deal several times.

Just for the record, I'm not an expert on any aspect of fishing (except I am an expert on getting skunked), including Revo reels. I just like them and that's about all I use. ANY knowledge I may have already exists on these boards, since that's mainly where it came from.

I do, indeed. Here it is. What ReelMech said. I've used my Revo SCs in brackish water with no problems, but I do what ReelMech says after each use.

Another $9 will get you a Revo S. Best reel out there in the $100 range.

Everytime I go to read something, I keep glancing over and try to decide if she hot or not. It's very distracting. :
