  1. I know my local tackle shop has had a few on clearance a month ago for $140. I have the fuego and it is awesome.
  2. Powell are tough to beat for the money. I love all of my Powells, but the Loomis is just a tad more sensitive.
  3. You cannot go wrong with a Loomis Worm/Jig rod. Look around on ebay and you might be able to get yourself a big discount. I have the BCR853 GLX version and love it for worm fishing. I prefer 7ft rods.
  4. Powell 754. I cannot wait to get my hands on the Powell 806.
  5. Jackall Flick Shake Worm was killer last year. Roboworms are good too, but I prefer to drop shot them.
  6. Don't forget about the Lucky Craft LV500 for deeper cranking. The Red Eye Shad was killer last year too especially on the fall. I just ordered a few YoZuri and Xcaliber. Thanks guys. ;D FWIW I tried a few Spro on several occasions last year and struck out everytime. :'(

Try it at night during the summer months. Pitch it up against the bank and hold b/c you might get your arm broke. It was my goto bait last year during the night. Absolutely hammered them. I use the Boyah Boogie Blk/Blue 3/8oz. I like the flexible hook which seemed to increased my hookup over the orignal chatterbait.
  8. I recently bought a Loomis GLX Flippin Stick off ebay. I ended up saving around $200 of the MSRP. It was the 4th rod I bought off ebay in the last year. Ebay has literally saved me thousands over the years. I did get cheated 1 time. I bought a shimano MG at a price too good to be true and never received the reel. Paypal did reimburse me since I didnt receive the reel.
  9. Lamiglas 705R is my favorite cranking rod. Another one for big cranks and ripping lippless cranks out of grass is the Powell 754 CB. I perfer Loomis rods, but for cranking I tend to stick with Powell. However, the Loomis 845 has a great following and is worth considering.
  10. Why not stick with Loomis. I just picked up the new GLX dropshot rod. I havent got a chance to use it yet other than in the pool. But tackle tour reviewed this rod favorably. Super light.
  11. Yeah. Those megabass rods are insane. I would love to have one of them, but without a warranty I will not be getting one anytime soon.
  12. LC FLat Mini DR. If you look on Ebay you can pick them up for around $10. Fat Free shad also
  13. He also changes out the hooks to shorter shank and I he had a few custom Blue Back Herring paint jobs for one of the tournys last year. You might at buy a Sk for $4-5, but you will spend a couple more bucks putting quality hooks on them.
  14. I never pay retail and get most of Lucky crafts off Ebay for around $10 a piece. I'm willing to pay for Lucky Crafts b/c every other Strike King I buy never runs true after excessive tuning and the hooks are complete crap. That is a waste of $5 right there. I don't mind losing a few lucky craft now and then. Now some of my high end swimbaits.................. >
  15. I picked up a couple from tackle warehouse. Impressive looking I have yet to fish them though.
  16. Cranking into rock. I broke 3 all together one was my fault hitting a dock. The other two cranking into chunk rock.
  17. breaking on rock
  18. I broke 3 new ones this past year
  19. I thought Huddleston is coming out with a bigger version in the near future. :-/ I did pretty well with the 6" Baitsmith Heavy Duty this past year. My biggest complaint with the Baitsmith the ROF.
  20. I will continue to buy the Red Eye shad, but I am done with SK cranks. Junk IMO.
  21. Nope. Hopefully the bills don't break off like the DT16 I own. Let us know.
  22. 1. Black/Blue Jig 2. Triple Trout 3. Wake Jr. 4. Norman DD22-Suicide 5. Lucky Craft BDS2-American Shad
  23. That rod got a good review in Bassmaster. I will wait to someone actually uses one on this forum before deciding on this cranking stick. Personally, I have my eye on the Powell 806CB rod.
  24. What? I got 2 Loomis 20% off last week. I am waiting for them to arrive. I am not sure they ordered me the right ones though after looking at my bank statement. :'(
