  1. Lucky Craft in Ghost. If fishing points in the summer the Norman DD22 dominates.
  2. I just keep opening this thread to keep looking at those beauties. Again nice collection. I am waiting for a Shimano counterstrike.
  3. I would go for mono (unless you are going to use it for frogs) as for what lb test you should refer to the rod specifications.
  4. I wouldn't want either of those baits. Get a 6" Hud, but if you want a hard bait I would go with a 6" blemished punker at ***.
  5. Thanks, I have had a Powell 754, and it was a great rod, but felt a little tip heavy for me. I have been looking at the powell 765 and the new 806. I will be trying them out in a couple weeks before decide which one to get. The Dobyns 805 is under consideration too.
  6. Awesome, thanks for the info. I want to add the 765 to the lineup. I love these rods for cranking.
  7. They are extremely detailed. You can get several fish on one swimbait if you take care of it and glue the tears after it rips. I can't wait to try the hard bluegill.
  8. LOL. I used to be a hard core jig guy, but now I fish with cranks most of the time. I like to have a variety and try new cranks and cranks other people have had success with on this board. Hence, the Daiwa, Xcaliber and Yo-Zuri Drum lipless cranks.
  9. Yes, my rod is a Lamiglas SR 705R so I guess I will just continue to fish with it and maybe give Lamiglas a call.
  10. Basscat, Thank you for that post. I was just thinking about the same thing today. I too like the War Eagle spinnerbait and also like some of the Booyah models.
  11. Even though I hate BPS, I still fed the beast. I made my annual trip and blew all my Visa points today on: 6- RC 1.5 2- RC 2.5 2- RC 3.5 4- Bandit 100 series 4- Bomber FFS switchback cranks 2- Bomber FFS 18ft 3- Rapala DT10 4- Rapala Clackin Raps 4- Spro Little johns 2- Xcaliber X50 2- Yo-Zuri Drums 2- Red Eye Shad 2- Daiwa size 7 lipless cranks 8- Norman DD22/Deep LilN's 6- Booyah Spinnerbaits 1- 65lb power pro 3- XPS fluorocarbon I think that is all i bought.
  12. I noticed that when I shake my fiberglass cranking rod the makes sound like a piece of glass has broken loose on the inside and is rattling around inside the blank. I have narrowed down the area and the guides and blanks seems fine. Has anyone had a similar experience? Should I warranty the rod or wait to see if it breaks? Help me out rod builders. :-/
  13. Boga is top of the line for sure. However, you cant beat this Lipper for $45 shipped to you door. It comes with a sheath too!!!! http://www.evolutionproductsinc.com/proddetail.php?prod=LIP26S I ordered one and it is really nice. Much nicer than the BPS, Rapala and Berkley scales.
  14. You will love these little reels!! Great choice.
  15. Your on the right track. The reel is probably the best buy in its class and the rod should fit your needs for soft plastics.
  16. I used to fish on a river from a canoe for smallies. I used a 6'6 M spinning outfit and never had a problem setting the hook using zoom trick worms and small jigs.
  17. djmax22 replied to Dixon's topic in Fishing Tackle
I love these worms for finesse fishing. Just pick a few colors that look good to you and give them a try. I cannot recommend them enough.
  18. If a bass can get its mouth around the lure it will eat it. You would be surprised at the little 2lbers that have the balls to hit a 8" Rago Tool. The bass in KY are plenty big.
  19. Get a floater if you are worried about losing it, but I would go with the sinking version. The detail of this Gill is truly amazing so much so I am considering getting rid of my Shellcrackers.
  20. Ghost Minnow is an absolute killer in clear water. Chart. Shad and American Shad are good colors to have as well. Get a pointer and a Clunn 2.5 DD and you will be set. Last year the Clunn 2.5 was on fire. Rapala X-rap I like the color patterns Olive and also the color silver/blue.
  21. I would start with a crank and if that doesn't work I would break out a football jig.
  22. The smaller the line diameter the deeper a crank will run. Difference b/n 10 and 12 lb test I believe is a few feet, but I could be wrong.
  23. Citica E. I just picked one up and it is super smooth. I dont think that this reel can be beat at that price range.
  24. The shimano you are referring to is the Scorpion. I would rather have the Chronarch BPV over the E7 and winch. It is an awesome cranking reel.
