  1. I own both. The new curado is lighter and more compact making it easier to palm. The B is smoother and IMO make a great crankbait reel.
  2. I do like that these rods come a in a variety of sizes and power. I cannot say enough good things about the few that I own.
  3. I used these jigs a lot. My favorite trailer is the 4" Chomper creature (looks like a hula grub). It fills out the jig skirt nicely. Try it out.
  4. Hold on now. I own a couple of these rods, but I given the choice I would rather have my GLXs. I do love the Dobyns rods, and use them to fill the gap in the Loomis lineup (frog, deep cranker). I can't wait to get my hands on the mag topwater and the ML jig rod. As for sensitivity I would put them on par with an IMX, not that I can feel that much difference b/n the IMX or GLX. They are great rods no doubt, but stating they are the best rods ever made is a quite a statement. Lets give them a few years.
  5. I like to use it in the summer at night.
  6. Lucky craft 2.5DD in Ghost absolutely killed them last year in super clear water.
  7. black/blue Chatterbait and 10" Power Worm Red Shad
  8. I am not really a fan of the Premiers. I had a continuous problem with the guide inserts popping out of my premier cranking rods. I went through a couple of them. The one thing that I did appreciate was St Croix customer service. It was top notch. If you can get them on sale I would go for it, if not I would try another cranking stick. I never felt like the glass cranking stick had a true moderate action.
  9. I own every Falcon box and are great for the LC pointer 100 and Xrap-8. Anything LARGER will not fit in the Falcon jerkbait box. If you have a lot of large jerkbait/stickbaits would suggest either the Plano stickbait box or the BPS XPS double sided storage case.
  10. Try the lucky craft staycee 90. The LC pointer gets all the headlines, but the staycee might just be the best jerkbait on the market. 8-)
  11. Get the Norman DD22 professional edge. It is the best overall deep crank I have found for the money. I broke the lips off 2 Rapala's last year pounding them on chuck rock and other slinging it off a dock. Before anyone tells you that they were an old batch and Rapala corrected the problem, they were bought them from two different BPS locations (I have never had a problem with the DT10s) so buyer beware. Norman cranks have a thick plastic lip that can take a pounding. More importantly they flat out catch fish.
  12. I have the 6" and 8" molded punkers. I haven't got a chance to get them wet. The 6" is slightly smaller than the 6" wooden punker Jr. It is a little bigger than a super spook in size. I am waiting to see of I can get the same gliding action that I can get out of the originals. The plastic ones have rattles also.
  13. They have added a couple of new crankbait model this year. I hope that they continue to add to this line and come out with a magnum cranker. I want to get the CBR 756 for topwater and big jerkbaits.
  14. Also let us know how the 855 GLX crankbait stick works out for you. I was wondering if the GLX is worth the extra dough. Afterall it is just a cranking rod.
  15. I have never used the 953 swimbait rod (I do own the 955 and 957) and just noticed the other day that they added a new swimbait rod to their lineup. My problem with the Loomis crankbait series is that it lacks a magnum cranker and the handles are too short. If you want a magnum crankbait rod I would suggest you ask users of Dobyns, Powell 806, and the new KVD sticks.
  16. Its on my list to try this year. I picked up an 12" Orso floater to try as well.
  17. I dont like the Excel brand so much, but I do like a the XPS mono which was surprising good for a couple dollars more.
  18. I would never buy a $400 knife that said Megabas. That is insane. I would buy a $400 JDM reel which might be insane also. ;D
  19. It really doesn't bother me. Great marketing using a catchy name and a productive color patter. I was using L.C. Chartruse Shad for years b/f sexy shad came out.
  20. Maybe they make some money, but I would guess they put a lot of time on the water experimenting and building a prototype shellcracker. Furthermore, they are priced according to other hard bluegill swimbaits on the market. Personally I don't care for the Shellcracker. I would much rather throw something else.
  21. 3/4 oz football jigs, Carolina rig, dropshot, Norman D22, Lucky craft 20, Manns 30+. The possibilities are endless.
  22. Keep the rod tip down and try to keep them from breaking water.
  23. That purple reminds me of toned down Norman's Apocalypse. Nice Work.
  24. Call them. Loomis is awesome in the customer service department.
