baitcaster VS spinning
How do you spinning guys pitch a jig? Just curious.

A good all-around 1/2 oz Jig Rod
I like the 855 for 1/2oz jigs and up, but th 854 will work too.

Any tips on C-Rigs at Lake of the Ozarks?
I used to fish LOZ b/f I moved to CA. I would suggest C-rigging Brush Hogs on area that transition from chunk rock to pea gravel. The 10" worm bite usually picks up during the summer months especially at night. First thing in the morning toss topwater such a big Zara spook. I disagree with the back of coves comment above. I know last year we could only locate some of the bigger fish in 1-3" in the very back of coves using a green pumpkin jig. A lot of times the bite will be very light and sometimes they will tear the trailer without fully committing. I know of one tourney that was won this way. Last year the water was really muddy and I have no idea what conditions are like this year.

dobyns, powell, or kistler?
I have never used the Kistler so I cannot comment on their performance. I have found Powell also to be tip heavy and I am not a fan of split grips. However, the Powell is a great rod for the money. And the 754 is great fiberglass crnakbait rod. I own the 813 Loomis spinnerbait rod and I highly recommend it to anyone. I am not a big fan of their crankbait series rod. The 845 is great all rod, but if you choose to crank anything deeper than 10' I would chose another rod. I would rather have an IMX series over the Loomis Mossyback rod for worms or jigs. As for Dobyns rods, I cannont say enough good things about the few I own. I own the 736 and it might be the most versatile rod that I own. I use it from anything from small swimbaits, frog, c-rig, to pitchn.' If you are planning to crank deep then check out the 805. I am a Loomis guy myself, but I tend to go with Dobyns to fill in the gaps in the Loomis lineup. Good luck.

Daiwa Dead or Alive is a swimbait.

Left handed cranking reel
Shimano Chronarch BPV. It is a great reel at the sale price and you can't beat it for cranking and yes it comes in lefty.

Please help!-soft swimbaits-
Here you go: http://www.ownerhooks.com/pages/products/hooks/basshooks.htm This is the best hook I have found for hollow belly swimbaits. I use the 6/0 for 6" swimbaits.

5" Daiwa Dead or Alive.

reaction strike evolution bluegill
I would stay away from anything from Reaction Strike. I would continue to save up money and get a quality swimbait. In the long run you will burn through more money buying junk than getting a few quality baits. BTW the Tru-tungsten is cheaper right now at *** than the RS. 8-)

Matt Lures Baby Bass Series
Nice little starter swimbait. I tend to fish them along the bottom reeling in as slow as possible. A 2lb fish will have no problems munching on this little swimbait.

How to fish big worms at night
These guys nailed it. I try to fish as slow as possible. I tend to drag it and let it sit and then repeat.

Hey mattlures
With any soft swimbait you want to HANG it by its nose to prevent the bait from warping. If the tail does warp or the bait runs on its side submerge the tail into boiling water for a few seconds and the swimbait will return to its normal position. As for tackle boxes, the Markey boxes are OK. The lakewood box is the best, but a cheaper alternative to both is to use a coat hanger, snaps and a plano box (see the Markey design). I hope this helps.

Strike King® Shadalicious Swimbait
I use the 6/0 hook for 6" swimbaits (basstrix) anything smaller I would opt for the 4/0. The Beast hooks are great, they have an EWG that is ideal for paddletails. I hope this helps. If you want a picture let me know.

Strike King® Shadalicious Swimbait
6/0 for what size SK? A 6/0 should do the trick for the 4.5" baits. Certainly not the 3.5" baits. Use the 4/0 hook Here you go: http://www.ownerhooks.com/pages/products/hooks/basshooks.htm

Strike King® Shadalicious Swimbait
Stick with Basstrix if you can find them. If you must use the SKs go with OWNER Beast 6/0 1/4oz hook (or 8/0 if >6"). It has a screw for the head with a weighted hook. The Beast is by far the best hook I have found for paddletail swimbaits.

Shimano: I Have Seen the Light
Congrats! Now how long will you wait until you get a Chronarch D.

Chronarch D
You will love this reel! I like mine better than the Core.

Shimano Curado 301E Question
Funny, I have a couple 301Ds and have been thinking about buying a Calcutta TE 401 for my new swimbait rod. I use my 301 for everything from Huds to wakebaits. They are good swimbait reels, but I have been wanting to try a 401. What is your opinion on the TE and why are you not sold on the round reel concept?

My new favorite lure
Cool! I was looking at picking up a couple of these cranks. Glad to hear that they are working for you. I thought they have a lip?

Deep 14+ Crankbaits
I do a ton of deep cranking in the summer. I use a 7'6" or 8ft rod with 10lb mono with a Norman DD22 or LC-20. The DD22 has been dominating at times. I cannot wait to try the Jackall Muscle. I have heard nothing but good things about that crank.

is there anything decent with a BPS name on it?
Take both reels back to BPS, tell them you problem and they will replace them. As Burley said the BPS 100MPH raingear is awesome! I also like their XPS fluorocarbon. Other than that I cannot think of anything good about BPS.

New E Series Curado or Old B Series Chronarch
Great Choice. You will love the reel! 8-) Now start saving for the Chronarch D. It absolutely blows the B model away and IMO feels better in my hands than the Core.
