I'm going to the beach in about a week, and while I'm there I want to try to catch some flounder. What are the best ways you have found to catch them inshore? I will be fishing on the ICW mostly. I was thinking about using Finger Mullet or Mud Minnows on a carolina rig. Are there any artifical lures that will catch them consistantly? Any tips would be appreciated.

You used to from me, but not anymore. After using them for well over a year now, I can say the magnetic brake is highly effective and highy refined. I much prefer it to the centrifugal brake. x2 I like the magnetic brakes on my SXs much better than the centrifugal system on my S.

I might be in the minority here, but generally, the clearer the water, the faster I will fish. I don't want the fish to get a good look at my lure. I try to get them to smack it out of reaction as it whizzes past their heads. I usually do this with spinnerbaits, suspending jerkbaits, and crankbaits.

On the rare occasions I get to fish for smallmouths.

Maybe a pound.
