  1. I caught my first two smallmouths yesterday and can honestly say that I like catching them better. They weren't very big, but put up a much better fight than any largemouth of that size that I have caught. I can only imagine how a 5 or 6 pounder would fight.
  2. 99 today, and I have to mow. : :
  3. 1. LC Gunfish 95 (Ghost Sunfish) 2. GYCB Kreature (Watermelon w/ Black Flk.) 3. 6" Roboworm Straight Tail (Warmouth) on a 1/8 oz. Picasso Shakedown Jighead 4. LC Flat Mini (Rootbeer Brown) 5. 5" Zoom Lizard (Green Pumpkin w/ Green Flk.)
  4. In the high 4 or low 5 pound range. Nice fish. 8-)
  5. 3 more days, but I go back August 26th.
  6. I use them with great sucess. It's onne of my favorite LC crankbaits.
  7. A topwater popper. When I started fishing, it was the only topwater bait I used. Now, it's the only one I don't get a bite on. :-/
  8. I would let it go. All that would matter to me is the fact that I had the state record bass, even for a short period of time. It wouldn't matter to me if someone came and caught the same fish, beating me by a couple ounces.
  9. Yeah right. Oops, I forgot the Curado D 100/200 are presently doing it. Then why are they getting rid of them?
  10. 10 lb. Suffix Elite. It's the smoothest casting line I have ever used.
  11. LC Gunfish 95 6" Roboworms on a 1/8 oz. Picasso Shakey Head Zoom 5" Lizards (Green Pumpkin)
  12. I stick with single brands for my rods and reels (Abu and St Croix). I found what I like and I am sticking with them.
  13. Sorry about that, It was just a search on here. Just search "Jackall Giron" and alot of info about the lure comes up.

  15. Usually a crankbait, except around gunky weeds. For that I will use a spinnerbait.
  16. I've heard Lake Sutton outside of Wilmington is good for largemouths and catfish. I know the lake has alot of timber in it. I'm not sure how the bank fishing is though. (Beware, there are Alligators.) ;D If you want to try saltwater fishing, you are in a great location for it. Ocean Crest Peir (http://www.oceancrestpier.net/) is very nice. You could try bottom fishing for Flounder, Pompano, and Whiting or fish Got-cha plugs for Spanish Mackeral and Blues. Southport is also a very nice place to visit.
  17. With the shakey head, alot of bass will just suck it in and swim off with it when they eat it. When they do this, you usually don't even feel the actual bite. There might be a slight line twitch, but that is usually it. If you lift your rod and it feels like there is nothing on the end of your line, reel the slack and set the hook; a bass has probably sucked in your shakey head and is swimming towards you.
  18. I would start with topwaters in the morning, then fish shakey heads, jigs, and crankbaits around those boat docks as the day went on. If the docks were high enough off the water, I would skip a senko back under the docks as well.
  19. Not all Costa models use glass. You get to choose between the glass, CR-39, or Costa 580 lense materials.
  20. I fished the Zara Spook for a long while and it is a very good bait. But I switched to a Sammy 100 and couldn't believe how easy it was to "walk the dog" compared to the Spook. Also, it just flat out catches more bass for me. To me it is worth the extra money. And it is a topwater bait, so you are have a much better chance of not loosing it than say, a crankbait.
  21. x2 You can throw almost anything with this rod.
