I know what you mean about kids.I have a 9 year old daughter. she goes with me several times over the summer but is not really interested until I catch a fish, then she always wants to put the bigmouth bass back. I get a kick out of her calling it a bigmouth. My four year old son is autistic. I have high hopes that he will turn out to be my fishing buddy, but it is not happening any time soon most likely. I have also taken my nephew, who is also 9, and daughter together. What an adventure. We ended up looking for pretty rocks after an action filled, line tangled, minnows spilled twenty minutes of fun/adventure, terror . ;D

Let me see, in your post you are both defending him and then admitting he is guilty of recruiting violations. Look at the mess at UMass and now look at Memphis. What is the one constant???? Besides all that, the coach runs the recruiting, chooses who to recruit, and is responsible for the recruiting process. He is the CEO of the basketball program. As such, he is entirely responsible for everything that happens under his watch. It is not the NCAA's fault that wherever coach Cal lands there seems to be inappropriate ...things happening. I also said he is a masterful recruiter, and a fantastic coach. I agree he is not the only coach in the country who appears to be doing some shady things, but as you said yourself, he certainly seems to be guilty of some recruiting violations, at the least.

Learn about the "game". Car salesmen typically want to sequester you to a room and break you down mentally with back and forth, number exchanges, etc. I have known people who have spent 11 hours buying a vehicle. Find the kelly blue book price, the Nada price, and go in and make them an offer that YOU can live with. If they don't accept it, keep looking until you find the deal you want. I regularly buy vehicles for 4 or 5 thousand dollars below dealer asking price. It has been as much as 7 thousand. That is usually 2 to 3 thousand below NADA as well. It is your money, spend it wisely. Good Luck.

Watch the video that Glenn just linked to. I upped most of my spinnerbaits to 3/4 ounce and control the profile by trimming the skirt and adding/removing a trailer, and changing blade shapes/sizes. I can cast it better into the wind and I caught more fish than ever before on the spinnerbait this past fall.

I would love to hear what some of the pros have to say about some of the questions/answers that are given here. I bet many times they would think, man, I should have thought of that.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing. I had a coach who used to quote Lombardi as we were running, every day, before AND after practice... Fatigue makes cowards of us all. Sadly, I was in the ninth grade and never understood what the hell he was trying to tell us, because I was always tired.

Coach Cal.....hummmm. How shall I say this? Great recruiter, annually has the most talent in the country. Leaves after 5 or 6 years of tremendous success and the program is then in the NCAA doghouse for the next 2 or 3 years, or more. Allegedly, he knows nothing about the goings on in his programs at UMass, Memphis, and we will see about Kentucky. Great school, great program, I hope he doesn't leave it like he did Memphis and UMass.

Matta has really rescued a floundering Buckeye program. He recruits on a level with all other coaches in the country...better than most. He doesn't have a basketball school like Duke, Kansas, N.Carolina to sell. He is bringing great basketball players to a football university. Look for Ohio State to remain a top twenty program for many years to come....or as long as he stays with the Buckeyes. I personally think Ohio State is very lucky to have such high character men in Matta and Tressel leading their programs.

One would think that as much uniformity as walmart likes, they would be more consistent in their mark-down policies. They spend millions remodeling so all stores have the same layout but in my area, 3 stores all within about 20 miles of each other have radically different markdown procedures.

Walmart here had lake fork magic shads in the 3 pack for marked 2.50. I also bought some single packed magic shad for a buck each ...rigged with round ball jig head. After getting home, all three packs of magic shad also rang up a dollar. They also had several norman and mann's crankbaits for 2.00 or 2.50. I got 7 cranks and the magic shads for about 20.00.

I have owned the pro qualifier and the tournament zx. Both are good reels but I like the pro qualifier better. Keep in mind that the new tournament zx reels are graphite framed while the older ones (like I have) were aluminum. I would recommend AGAINST buying the new tournament zx based on my obsservations from visiting the bargain cave at Cabelas....many, many of the new tournament zx reels have already been returned. Something inside is breaking. I have had the pro qualifier for a couple summers now and have not had an issue. It is a bit smaller and lighter than the older tournament zx.

I have and fish with a st. croix mojo spinning rod. I have it paired with a shimano symetre reel and like the combo very much. I bought the rod used and used it last summer...no problems. I have no experience with the other two rods you listed.

I know it's corny, but I like the one with Hank Parker and Bill Dance doing handstands down the dock...like a couple male cheerleaders or something. It's just goofy.

Lots of good ones. Beoheim doesn't get nearly enough credit. Coach K, Izzo, Roy Williams, are all top shelf. I also have to throw in a couple names, I think Weber at Illinios is terrific. My current favorite though has to be... Thad Matta at The Ohio State University. ;D ;D ;D ;D BTW, Weber and Matta have both had teams playing for the national title in the past couple years.

I don't know where they are manufactured, but the Cabela's prodigy baitcaster says right on it that it is manufactured by daiwa. Daiwa also makes the Tournament ZX and Prodigy spinning reels for Cabelas. OOPS. Sorry, I just read where the title says crankbaits. I apologize to all.
