Dude, I fish from the bank every time I go fishing. ANY spot in a boat would be cherished. Just a different perspective for you. However, my sister and I have great fun from the bank every time we go. Good luck with your situation.

yes it does skillet. I hope to catch him again, when he is even bigger. Also, i emailed Plano to ask about buying a replacement front cover for my tacklebox, and they are sending a free replacement. What a remarkable statement of taking care of the customer. And, They knew it my fault- I told them I fell down and broke it.

Every chance I get. I usually fish at least two days a week for about 6 hours each time. Sometimes i go out for a few hours late one evening as well.

I just wanted to share this with everyone. While walking to my fishing spot this morning, I fell and broke the "front door" of my Plano Model #1374 tackle box into two pieces. I emailed them and asked if it was possible to purchase a replacement door? I told them I fell and broke it. They are sending me a replacement door... at no cost. While I did not expect them to do that, I am grateful that they are.

I got a chance to sneak out this morning. I get to the lake at 5:15...still very dark. Grab my gear, put on my headlamp, and head to my spot. I fish from the bank, and the area I fish from in the mornings requires a short walk down a rocky path. I start down the path, tackle box in left hand, fishing rods in my right hand, headlamp focused on said path. Well, next thing I know the headlamp is focused on the tree branches, my front cover to my plano tackle box is in two pieces, and my rear end and lower back are aching. I used to be able to catch myself before I fell, now I don't realize I am falling till my butt bounces off the ground. After gathering myself, i get ready to start fishing. After about an hour or so with no bites, I switch to a luhr-jensen jonny rattler. first cast and wham. I set the hook and immediately know this is the biggest fish I have ever caught. As I am trying to reel it in, I realize that the fish is winning. I have to run around the knob on the bank because he wants to go to the other side. I get him landed and, although I have no scale to weigh him, I do know that he was over 20 inches...measured on plano 3700 boxes which are 14 inches long, mark and remeasue. I released him and watched him swim away. I am guessing he was at least 4 pounds, maybe even five. Man, I am so stoked. I had to tell someone. Anyway, my back doesn't hurt as bad now. ;D

I have started using zoom trailers since watching the video Glenn made. I have seen a pretty substantial increase in catches since I started using the trailer. Previously, I rarely caught a fish on the spinnerbait. I kept throwing it cause it looks like it ought to catch them, or at least it looks cool. Now, I usually catch at least one fish, many times 2 or 3 an outing. Since I watched the video I have noticed two things, not many folks here use spinnerbaits, and I have not seen one person use a trailer of those I have seen that do use spinnerbaits.

I use a black jointed jitterbug 1st thing in am while it is still dark. I almost always catch 2-3 fish in the first hour or so. Many times I have caught 4-5 fish. I also use the steady retrieve.

Worked on it exclusively yesterday morning at 5 am...still dark here in Ohio. Did much better than last weekend. Also, caught 4 fish, including one on the buzzbait. Good day all around. Thanks much to all who shared their knowledge.

Thanks to all who answered. Bobby, Thanks also for the input. I have been catching 2-5 fish almost every morning on the jitterbug. This particular day, I caught 2 right away on the jitterbug, but also had four strikes without hookups. Thats when I changed first to your cavitron black buzzbait thinking the fish just did not want the jitterbug. No takers. Tried the black booyah buzzbait with the clacker. No takers. Then tried both the cavitron and booyah white. fished each for about 10-15 minutes. stopped throwing the buzzbait when i tossed the white booyah into the trees > >. I have not tried downsizing the bait however. I guess the answer is to keep throwing them and really pay attention when I do start getting bites.

Does anyone know how much these baits weigh???? I have looked on several different sites and they only say they are 4 inches long. Thanks for the help.

Just need some input from more experienced buzzbait fishermen or fisherwomen. I currently have 3 different buzzbaits. (had four till I threw one in a tree today >) I fish a black 3/8 ounce with gold blade and white 3/8 with gold blade in cavitron line. I also fish white and black with silver blade and clacker from booyah, also 3/8 ounce. I can't seem to get bit on any of them. I am having good luck with a jitterbug in same area at same times but nothing on buzzbaits. I am bank fishing and have both side of old roadbed in front and rip rap off to the left. Any suggestions???? I have tried burning them and reeling them slow enough to just keep them on top of the water.

Tried the baitcaster in pitch black dark this am at about 5:30. Not so good. Apparently I don't have the force, although I have been told I look llike Yoda. ;D However, after many overruns, I did get the hang of it. By the hang of it, I mean I went back to the spinning gear. I was spending too much fishing time clearing birdsnests. As the dawn approached, I went back to baitcaster and paid more attention to sound of reel during cast. I think that will help me next time. One can definitely hear reel winding down. Never noticed it before. Thanks for everyones input.

Topwater. Been having really good fortune with a black jointed jitterbug. Fish in very early am (still dark), all you can hear is glub, glub, glub, WHOOSH. Very exciting.

along the same line, I lost a mann's crankbait in a set of trees. I could see it hanging there with no way to get it....fishing from the bank. It happened about a month ago. I see it everyweekend when i go fishing, just hanging there, taunting me. This past Sunday, I looked over and it was gone. I figured some other fisherman found it. At one point as I was cranking in a different bait, I look down and there it is. Have no idea how it got out of the trees, nor how it happened to float over to my favorite spot. ;D

They use what I use....only person who really fishes with me is my sister. She likes it so much she bought her own rigs...one spinning and one baitcasting. My daughter uses her own rod and reel.

How do you guys fish at night with baitcasters??? I mean, you can't see your lure so how do you know when to stop the spool? I fish in the am alot in the dark and have to use spinning gear. I fish from the bank and have to make long casts. Any suggestions?
