  1. I also have a pair of Strike king polarized sunglasses. I don't know about the more expensive brands, but for 20 bucks I could not believe how much better I could see "into" the water. Rocks and such that I had not been able to see before.
  2. Has anyone else tried this. I bought a roll of 12 lb and like it very much. I think it is right on par with the bass pro xps 12 lb I have tried. Are they both made at the same factory?
  3. Thanks Bassin_Fin@tic, I should have said that, but I start casting parallel with bank and work all the water in front of me as well. Thanks for the tips.
  4. Catt and Sam, thanks for the information. I had no idea. What brands of crawfish do you guys prefer?
  5. I just like catching them. I guess if I had to answer, it would be catching several on many different types of baits. Honestly, though, the most fish I have caught in one day is 6, 3 on spinnerbait, 1 on a 7" powerbait worm, and two on a crankbait. I guess on secondthought, I am not qualified to answer your question ;D
  6. I fish them both ways. I start out with a slow steady retrieve and if I get no takers, then I start with jerks and twitches. I have caught fish both ways. I have caught a few fish on steady retrieve right next to the bank.
  7. I am a bank fisherman. The lakes that I usually fish have alot of rip rap along the roads. I normally start at one end and fish my way along the road. I carry 3-4 rods and my tackle box. I have prepared the rods with a spinnerbait, a crankbait, and at least one soft plastic. My question is, What order would you throw these baits? I start with the spinnerbait, then use the soft plastic, then crankbait. If I get no hits after 15 minutes or so, I move down bank right to the area at the end of my casts? and start again. If wind is not a problem, I will also cast back over the water I just fished. How would you guys approach this??? As always, I appreciate everyones input.
  8. Strike king red eye shad, black back/chrome
  9. I guess I am not really worried about whether it floats or not. I asked the question to gather some tips about when and how you guys use them, the differences between the trick worm vs. the powerbait worm in 10 inch version, and if anyone had ideas to help me become a better fisherman. I do appreciate both Dereks and Wayne and everyone else adding their input, but please, let's get back to the original topic for me and all others following this thread.
  10. Jerk Bait Junkie, That must be really bad if you had more fun washing dishes. Be careful with that, I have told my wife the makers of dish soap put allergens in their products to prevent men from washing dishes. If I do, I will break out in a terrible rash and not be able to cook, clean, help with laundry, or go to work. Unfortunately, my wife is really smart and isn't buying it, but I thougt it sounded really good.
  11. BUCKEYEone, Let us know how they worked for you. I like the rage baits, fish mostly with the craws. They have really good action, but are a little on the expensive side.
  12. Does anyone use scent on Berkley powerbait products? I know they already have some nasty scent on them. Just wondering if anyone has dipped in JJ's Magic or any other scent and lived to tell about it. If you have used something, please share the experience.
  13. Fishfordollars, I do change colors, blade types, etc to try to entice the fish to bite. I probably do spend too much time fishing the spinnerbait, but I also catch more fish on it than anything else. Kind of a self-fulfillng prophecy I guess. I do like how it looks coming thru the water. ;D If I were a fish, I would eat it.
  14. Glad I am not the only one. I actually think to myself " Man, how can the fish resist that, it looks so cool"
  15. The dude cracks me up. Some of the stuff that comes out of his mouth is just freaky. Manbearpig. He enjoys life and it shows. He would be a blast to go fishing with, whether the bite was on or not. During his "day on the lake" feature,he hooked the reporter! that is something I would probaby do.
  16. Thanks Catt. I appreciate your input.
  17. Sorry. I just realized I was in wrong forum, should have been posted in Tackle section. Not sure where to go from here. I apologize to all.
  18. Anyone fished this yet? if so, what were the results and how did you have it rigged? Thanks.
  19. I throw a spinnerbait every time I go fishing. I throw it even if I am not getting bites on it. I throw it because I like to watch it coming thru the water and I think to myself" Man, that looks so cool, I can't believe the fish are not biting it". I will change colors and blades in accordance with the water/sky conditions. Anyone else do this with a bait? I will also throw a crankbait, some type of soft plastic, and maybe even a frog/buzzbait as well. But as I move around the lake fishing from the bank, I throw the spinnerbait at every location.
  20. Thanks for all the great tips. Can't wait to get back out there and try them.
  21. Thanks for the demonstration Wayne. I did not know there were that many different color of trick worms. How do you do with the Lemon colored one? Again, thanks to all for the tips.
  22. ok. I will give that a try. Thanks for all your help.
  23. Thanks to everyone for all the great tips. 6pointbuck2003, I like Tappan lake. It is 20 minutes from my house, and I usually catch at least a couple fish when I go. I have had luck fishing a rapala dt6 around the rip rap off 250. And, I too never have any luck at Salt Fork. Again thanks to all and if anyone has more advice, always willing to learn.
  24. Ok Wayne. thanks. I have a couple 1/4 ounce booyah spinnerbaits. I never even thought to use them. Would you fish these with a plastic trailer?
