  1. Forgive me Mike, but I am having a hard time picturing you....educated, gentlemanly, mannerly...as a bouncer at a bar! I bet you were BA!
  2. Wishing her a speedy recovery as well. Good for you for taking care of her!
  3. I will give the line length differences a try as well. I almost always cast with appx. a foot of line from rod tip to lure. I will try lengthening/shortening this to see if that helps solve the problem. Thanks.
  4. Thanks for the replies...I have a few items to try! BTW this lure tangles on 38.43% of my casts with it
  5. I never would have considered it was the snap because I always use them....good learning point. I tried them on a medium fast, MH fast, and medium moderate rod today and as I think about it, I had slightlly fewer instances with the moderate rod... I may try putting on some KVD 1x short hooks on front as well, just to see if that helps.
  6. I am using a duolock snap. I always use a snap, and don't have this problem with other lures? Thanks for opening my eyes Jeff. I will try direct tying next time to see if that helps.
  7. Thanks for replying A-Jay. I am mostly fishing 12-15 lb. big game and occasionally #10 or #12 yo-zuri hybrid ....happens with both lines. I had a chance to make a few casts today, fishing with curado 101D with #10 yo-zuri, curado 50E with 12 lb. big game, and a curado 200E7 with #12 yo-zuri, tried two different wake baits and it happened with each, on each set-up??? Nice baits, and they catch fish, but they are really frustrating to have to "untangle" them 3-4 times out of 10 casts or so.
  8. The main culprit is an Xcaliber wake bait. I have four of them in different colors, and it is an issue with all them???
  9. Sorry, should have probably posted in fishing tackle forum??? Would anyone buy that I posted here because the line does get tangled in the hooks????
  10. Does anyone have a cure for this? I have a few specific lures that spin and get their hooks tangled in the line frequently on the cast?
  11. Best of luck to you. Agree regarding the second & third opinions. I have had some dealings with folks who have had spinal fusion....VERY important that you are diligent with your therapy. Good luck.
  12. I wasn't poking fun. I should have been more clear about that.... I do home health physical therapy, and I use the term "butt cheek" for certain exercises, and I always tell my patients "that is the technical term we learned in school" ...so it really was an inside joke...with myself??? She knows what she wants, and you do too. I think it is great she goes fishing with you. My wife has no interest.
  13. and that....ladies and gentlemen....is the technical term!
  14. can someone tell me if the 200E series citica, curado, and the 50E curado take the same size bearings? I am referring to the bearing in the sideplate, and under the cast control knob. thanks for the help.
  15. While I do not necessarily like the possibilities, I agree that schools will be going the ipad route, maybe sooner than we think.
  16. Well said, and even more importantly, WELL DONE!!!
  17. I use a lot of 10 lb. and 12 lb. mono...no problems with either on my baitcasters.
  18. Matt, if you can't figure it out, send it to Mike at DVT. He supports these forums as a sponsor, and is quick to offer help here to any member that needs it. I have sent several reels to him and have always been satisfied above expectations.
  19. How do you change the knobs on shimano reels? Say, for example, I would like the add the larger "septon" grips from a curado 200E7 and put them on a citica 200E or a curado 50E? Can someone walk me through the process both removing the old grips and adding the new ones? Thanks to all
  20. I do not have them on my curado 200E models, but I do have them on the 50E's and the citica 200E models. I love the shimano power grips, and would use only those if all the above reels had them.
  21. Good luck with the house hunting. I am sure you will find what you are looking for. Be patient, you will know when you find the right one.
  22. Congrats on your new opportunity. With the increase in salary....well, let's just say the Bait Monkey Monster is aware!
