  1. Buy a quality braid such as Power Pro or Suffix. If you cut corners you will regret it.
  2. Save your money for the 797 Hummingbird. You will be glad you did.
  3. OPEC will probably cut the production way down when they meet and it will start right back up. We are all tied to a yo-yo and they laugh at us each time. Jerks.
  4. Pick his brain for every piece of info you can get. If he gets tired he will let you know. Learn as much as you can, enjoy, and remember you have rights also. Don't let him front you all day. Stand your ground if need be.
  5. Good luck. If you see a bird standing in the middle of the lake, SLOW DOWN, he's standing on the bottom not a stump.
  6. Oldham jig with Gene Larew trailer Baby Brushhog Crawworm colors: Camo Brown/Green or Pumpkin PB&J Black/Blue Green/Pumpkin/Orange pinchers
  7. I started out just wanting to be able to compete for a complete year without dealing with the numerous health problems that have hindered me the previous years. I have done that. I lead our club with over 123 lbs. I won our club's two day on Lake Fork last weekend with a black buzzbait catching an 8.19 and a 10.51 with a total of 29.11.
  8. Good read. Thanks for posting.
  9. So now can Bama field a 12th man to take out the ref?
  10. Good job.
  11. Well, could we at least get a picture of the swimbait? Most on this site have never seen a 30lb sack weighed in, muchless catch one. That is stout catching.
  12. If he would just stay out of the way and give an open checkbook to someone in the know there is no telling what the boys could do.
  13. No I would not. Well maybe, maybe not, uh ok so I would. Well I probably would if that was what it took to get the job done. I did pay 5.45 for four at Academy last week. Go figure. You need to get four, just in case you break off several. Don't tell the missis.
  14. Yep, it does work that way. I guess sucess is a script for pain. Maybe they can find a way to bottle it.
  15. Update, this is how it is done: Caleb, Happy Birthday(14) Friday morning became the first junior angler to sign up with Lake Fork Tackle Finished a strong second in our two day tournament Had the only limit weighed in Picked up another sponser while on the lake(Another tackle shop) Two weeks ago fished a "Day on the Lake" series on Sam Rayburn and set the junior angler record for largest bass and the heaviest stringer He is a member on this site: Caleb it is time to step up and reveal yourself.
  16. Be careful of the humps on the north side of the 147 bridge between where you are staying and jackson hill. Also the old town of Warsaw is located out on the east end of the long cut. It needs to be watched for as the old high spots are just under the surface in some areas. Be careful if you are running up north if you are not familiar with them. What Catt said
  17. I just got back from Lake Fork for three days and caught only one bass on a plastic. Only bite I had on a plastic. I caught fish on cranks, SB, BB, but no plastic bite.
  18. Minn-Kota is my favorite. Made the change years ago and have never regretted it. Durability and blade design on their props allow me to fish grass that I would never be able to with a Motorguide. Never had a problem(Not one), and I abuse them a lot.
  19. I have a shop full of abused items that will never see daylight. I broke them and they hang around for spare parts or go out to the street on pickup day. That is the way it should be. Thanks Muddy for bringing this up. Maybe it will save a store the grief and monetary loss. Good thread.
  20. Take it to the shop and have the diagnostics run. You will spend three times(Or more) the money you should if you just start swapping parts.
  21. I am out of here. See everyone Monday
  22. Welcome, I'm leaving at 1:00am tonight for Fork. Prefish Friday and a two day tournament this weekend. Will let you know when I return.
  23. We can trailer Weighin at LFR I prefer to fish jigs, plastics, deep cranks, CR, frogs, etc. Not sure about Mike. He's along for the ride. He is meeting me around 10:00 at the ramp in Williams creek in the morn I figure the bite will be a little slow if Sat. and Sun are bluebird days. Going to try to locate some on Friday and then pick them apart slowly on the weekend. Going to keep an open mind and let them tell me what to do. Figure they will hunker down and be tight to cover or shadow the baitfish. If I can locate 5-6 spots that have a concetration of fish on Friday I will milk run them and try to time a few. Just going to have a little fun. I'm leading the club and hope to come away in the running. Have not been on Fork in 2 yrs. We have 26 fishing so far One member hit the water at 10:30 this morn and had a 7+, and 2 over five in the first 1 1/2 hour. I hope it is bluebird on Friday. A day like today would have just messed me up. If you catch them everywhere it is hard to put anything together(Pattern), at least it is for me. I need to thank Tom Reddingtom for the information he sent me this morning. His info will be invaluable. Thanks Tom. Thanks for your help Matt
