PAPER TOURNAMENTS
It is the honor system and the easiest way to firm up everyone is to have each participant fishing against everyone else. When one catches a fish it is the responsibility of the other to weigh and certify the catch. Works every time unless they decide to pool the winnings. In that case the paper tournaments should be restricted to club tournaments with small amounts of money on the line or have only one fisherman to a BOAT WITH AN OBSERVER ABOARD TO VERIFY THE CATCH.

How to fish a pond full of hydrilla?
A jig is going to be very hard to fish a choked up pond from the shore. I would stick to the other references instead. A jig is best fished vertical from a boat in heavy hydrilla. Good luck.

Inexpensive GPS/Fishfinder Combo
I still fish the old LMS-240 unit. It is grey scale and you can pick them up for less than 200 if you look around. They will only run the Navionics Classic chip BTY. Good luck

Here is my new little guy!
Are you bringing him to Fork with you? We need to see if the motel takes pets if you are. Let me know and if so I will bring Bama with me.

line memory
Line is the problem. You cannot expect the line that is spooled tightly around the bottom of the spool to do anything else but blow up after it has had time to set at the bottom of the spool. I change a portion of the line on any reel that get fished each day before it goes back on the water(Except braid). Line is too cheap to have it ruin my day.

Lost Drag Power?
All gears are cut from a solid piece of materal. the gear cutting tool begins with small cuts around the outside of the gear and continues around the outer edge eventually cutting into the core until the correct depth is obtained. That is the cutting(Clearance between the ring and pinion gear teeth is known as the gear lash). The correct clearances are determined by the depths. This is set with washer thickness that are placed either behind the ring gear(Larger gear) or on the pinion gear shaft(Smaller gear) to move it either closer to or farther away from the ring gear..

Need help on casting
If you practice in your yard get yourself a stool to stand on that will be about the height you are above the water. This will keep you from developing release points that are incorrect. Just research prior post that have discussed the different cast. They have all been covered many times. Good luck.

Berkley Vanish fluorocarbon line
Glad you are not having problems. Personally I will never own another spool. Too many issues with it for me. Good to see someone can use it though. I just cannot fish it.

Lost Drag Power?
When you put the grease on the gears make sure you get it all the way down into the gear lash. Lots of people just put it on the outside of the gears and think it will work its way into the lashing. You must get the grease into the bottom of the gear cut or they will make noise.

Lost Drag Power?
Check the two washers on the gear shaft. Lots of people put them back on the shaft incorrectly. If you oiled the drag that could be the problem. Use the correct drag grease not oil.

Berkley Vanish fluorocarbon line
If you spool it up tonight the memory will show you Saturday morning quickly the first thing you won't like about it. Go and search some of the previous threads that have discussed it.

Berkley Vanish fluorocarbon line
Yup, you cannot cast it, it breaks easily, knot strength sucks, and cannot take a beating. If you have not spooled it up take it back. You can thank me later. Doubt it take it to the lake, but carry a spare if you only fish one rod.

Berkley Vanish fluorocarbon line
Don't make your decision on fluorocarbon by the way Vanish fishes. Worst on the market IMO. You would be better off staying with your current mono instead of that stuff. It's horrible and there are many on here that will back me up on that statement.

How do I know what my electronics are telling me?
If you set the unit up correctly you can even watch a spoon on your screen as you jig it up and down in front of an arc. If you can't, you need to adjust it until you can.

anybody ever used their bass boat for more than fishing?
Mike, I'm trying real hard to not picture that.

Yep, tubes, skis, and usually a trip or two through skinny dip cove off the San Jacinto river on a Sunday.
