I stand corrected. Why would anyone purchase anything without the required documents reguardless of each state's requirments though? Just too much hassel as far as I am concerned. Not necessarily. Many states don't require the titling of boats or trailers. In the case of many of these older aluminum boats, the thing has passed hands several times. Many times, the boat is used on a private lake where state registering isn't even necessary. I bought a titleless boat. I'm about owner #3 or 4 in it's 30 + year history. The trailer is homemade and the boat, still with perfectly legible model and ser. number hasn't been numbered in 20 years since it was only used on private lakes. Somewhere along the road the title was lost by one of the owners. I found out to get a title the owner I purchased from would have to apply and pay any back PP taxes on it. That wasn't going to happen. If you're going to buy a smaller boat for public waters insist on a title. If you'll primarily be fishing private water, it's less of an issu3e.

That really sucks. I would go back to the seller and ask for some help or offer to hand him his jewels on a platter.

There are no limits here in the Houston area as of this morning. Prices are running around 3.50 a gallon. That's up .20-.30 a gallon since Wednesday. Some stations were out yesterday, but tankers were delivering so most were reopening as it arrived. You just had to look around.

I am sorry to hear of all the problems getting a title to this or any other boat that has none. Everyone needs to take a break when they come across these great deals W/O titles. Every legit boat will either have a title or the paperwork will be available to aquire one without all these issues. When is everyone gonna learn?

I was told years ago you could drown one by roping his horns and grabing his tail if you can catch one in the water. Same story second verse. We tried on Toledo Bend one day. Looped the bow rope over his horns and I was sure he was going to kick a hole in the boat. Last time I saw him he was running up the bank with a portion of my white bow rope still hanging from his rack. I cut him loose to lessen the damage to the boat.

These type of partys usually begin when everyone has arrived at their respective locations. Usually though it is when the winds sustain at tropical force(39mph) and continue until everyone is either sick of each other, sobers up, or blown away. I have seen them go one as long as three days(I think...That's when I sobered up). The truth is I have only had four mixed drinks since January 1. We use to give it heck when I was younger though.

I have a brick, 3 bedroom home that is built to withstand 185MPH(Yea, right) winds. My wife and I are riding it out. We are boarded up, and the utilities are all underground in our area. Hopefully we will have power. Anyone, and I mean anyone that does not feel safe, you are welcome here. We are on the East side of Houston and well above any storm surge we should have. Let me know if you need a place. We will be able to house up to 6-8(Children welcome) if you need it. If it ends up all adults, we will have one heck of a party. My wife picks three outfits, knows which one she intends to wear, then trys on all three making me tell her which one looks the best. THEN she precedes to tell me why my choice makes her look so bad, never intending to wear it in the first place. Gives her another oppertunity to tell me how stupid I must be. Don't get me started on the shoe thing either.

I am riding it out. We are suppose to have winds of 120+. I was supposed to fish a tournament this weekend but it has been canceled. I live on the East side of Houston 1 mile above IH-10. That is less than 2 miles from salt water on two sides of me, but I am high enough to avoid the storm surge. I'm cinching up and going for a ride. Heck I hope it takes out my fence. Tired of replacing boards the last year.

I know of one DD out of it in the last several years. It was put back. No telling how many baby ducks he ate over the years.

I am leaving Friday morning, but it is to fish a bass club tournament up in east texas about 200 miles north of Houston. Hope my home still sits on the same GPS cordinates when I return Sunday afternoon. Good luck to everyone along the coast.

One of the members of our club won a $7,500 payout(1St place) in a tournament on Rayburn four weeks ago. He was DQd for culling a dead fish. It was not only a tournament rule, it is a state rule concerning the waste of gamefish. Not sure if he turned himself in or failed the polygraph. Knowing him well though I would bet he DQd himself.

The ag pond is three blocks from my mother's home. If you like lets put a trip together for Lake Nacogdoches. It is eight miles from town, 2500 acres, and long known for double digit fish. I will be happy to take you. I have had two sacks over 20lbs in tournaments off that lake since June. I am fishing Lake Jacksonville this Saturday and will be leaving my boat at my mother's home in Nac. on Sunday. Let me know. Matt, this lake is under the BASS 1 state regs. You can keep 5 under 16", but nothing between 16 and 24". Any fish over 24" can be retained for weighing to see if it will qualify for the state Share-A-Lunker program(Over 13 lbs.). If it does not qualify it must be immediately released back into the lake. If the bite is on we probably can put 40-50 in the boat for the day. Tons of 8-10 lb. fish are caught. This is the only lake in the state under these regulations. It started Sept. 1 of this year. They want to grow some giants and are using this lake for the pilot project. It has lots of grass flats and plenty of 30-50 ft. water. The lake record is between 15 and 16 lbs.
