Fd's Fishmas Exchange - Final List
For the last several years I have organized the Xmas exchange and it's that time of year again. We are going to start earlier this year to allow more people to see it and and extra week to ship your gifts. Here is how it works. There are some new rules this year because of previous problems. If you don't like the rules, tough. I do the work = my rules, period. You MUST be over 18 to play. You MUST have over 200 meaningful posts and be reasonably active on the forum. (I decide what is meaningful and reasonable) You MUST proclaim your intent to participate in this thread prior to Thanksgiving Day. You MUST send me a PM with your Name and Address prior to Thanksgiving Day. Minimum gift amount is $25. Maximum is up to you but don't expect to get more than $25. You may or may not get the name of the person sending your gift. You will get a return PM from me before Dec 1 with the name and address of the person you are buying for. You MUST send the gift prior to Dec 10. You may open the package when you get it or wait to Xmas. I will periodically post a list of official participants on this thread. It is up to you to check back after you send your PM to make sure you are on the list. A separate thread will be started to post pictures of the loot you received. Let the fun begin.

Hinged Spinnerbaits?
I like it. It was my first one of this kind but it was extremely durable. If I had not broke my line swinging a 2 pounder on Saturday, I would still have it.

Hinged Spinnerbaits?
That's it! Now I remember buying them last year. Said I was old.

Hinged Spinnerbaits?
I had until yesterday, a white/chartruese spinner bait with a hinge between the head and hook. Being old as I am, I can't remember what kind it was and can't find them online. Anybody got any idea what it was?

Strapping Your Phone In On Bumpy Rides On Windy Days

How Many Lakes/ponds/rivers Do You Fish?
I have fished in 24 different lakes at least twice each this year. Most of which I fish every year depending on season and the current weather. Several have been new additions this year because I joined a club that fishes lakes I don't normally fish. The forced learning curve keeps the edge sharp.

Want To Add A Power Pole To Bass Tracker 190 Tx
the wireless option is a big deal for me. My Triton came with it and I don't know how I fished without a power pole. It is so nice to be working an area and then 1 button locks you down to one spot. The front still swings a little which is only an issue when I'm bed fishing (which I hate anyway).

Trolling Motors Motorguide Or Minnkota
I have one of each on 20 ft boats. The only significant difference is the props. If you are fishing in heavy vegetation, go with the MK and weedless wedge. If you fish open water, it does not matter.

Lake Walk In Water, Florida
It is a knock off that is half the price and has better tail action IMO.

Lake Walk In Water, Florida
Soft swim bait is the Bitters bait and tackle Naked Swimmer (color 118 gr pumpkin candy pearl) and I was flippin the Gambler ugly otter in Black/blue.

Minn Kota Prop On Motorguide
I put a Safari on my 36v Tour 101# earlier this year. My only problem is that the blades seem easier to dent. If I could stop running into stuff I would have no problems with this prop.

Lake Walk In Water, Florida
Fished in a tourney six weeks ago. There are six or seven FWC man made fish attractors marked with bouys. Not all of them produced fish but some of them did. If you have good electronics you should be graphing fish in the 6-7 ft range. We caught them on an Aruka shad and spinner baits. Also there are four decent canals on the lake. Two on the North and two on the East side. Caught fish in all of them on swim baits and flipping the edges. The Walk is an awesome big fish lake, but be careful. It can go from flat calm to flat out dangerous in just a few minutes. Late in the day we were fishing one of the attractors that was producing fish and took two waves over the bow in my Triton 20X2. That's the first time I have been scared off a spot in years.

36V Charging
Just a note on 36 volt motors. Get yourself a cheap volt meter and periodically check the voltage on each battery after charging. All batteries should be over 12 volts when fully charged. Two hot batteries and one weak one = no trolling motor for the day. Learned that one the hard way.

Driving A Bass Boat In Rough Water
Al nailed it. If you don't have a "Hot Foot", get one. It is an absolute safety necessity in rough water. It allows you to keep both hands on the wheel and it is much easier to feather the throttle when you come over or out the top of a big one. In shallow bowl lakes like Kissimmee, it can go from a light chop to 3 foot rollers in a hurry. If the wind is blowing hard, the waves have a tendency to "double up" every 8 to 10 swells. That's the one you have watch. Off the throttle as you crest the wave, then hard on the throttle to get the nose back up before you spear the next one. Just above planing speed is where I run under most rough conditions.

What Do You Consider A Trophy-Sized Fish?
Being spoiled here in Central Florida it would have to be 10 or better. It has to be a 6+ just to get a picture these days.

Revo Gen 3 Reels
I have 5 of the SX HS and love them. Smooth casting, awesome drag and basically no maintenance.

The pic to the left is my youngest with a 7 pounder her PB caught last year. We are at the point now that nothing smaller than 5 lbs even gets a picture.

Florida Lake To Relocate To
Toho is actually in the city of Kissimmee and is on the edge of nowhere. Close to the big city but not in it. Lake Kissimmee is most easily accessed from the west side which is Lake Wales. Numerous places to live from fish camp style living on the water to higher end subdivisions within a 15 min ride. CampMack.com, they have park model/RV homesites for sale. There are fairly large mobile home water front communities on Lake Hatchinhaw, around Camp Mack and at Grape Hammock (south end of Kissimmee). If you have the means to live in a 500k home on the water, then the Harris Chain or the north end of Toho are the best bet. If you are not dead set on living on a big lake, then along the US 27 corridor there are numerous small lakes that have subdivisions on them and you are only a short trailer away from hundreds of other lakes.

Electronics?
Thanks Wayne, I had my setting more toward locating, not realizing I should change them for closer inspection. That was dumb on my part.
