HELP!!!!!!
For one, jigs landing has been fish out of crappie really badly the last few years and it is tough. If you do fish there you have to try around the pad lines preferrably the ones closer to deeper water and dip your bait in the pad holes as well.As that place gets an extreme amount of fishing pressure there are also a lot of hidden brush piles and cinder block piles that anglers have dropped over the years.I am still finding them. The crappie will stack up like flies on stink in those brush piles. Your better off trying that secret little honey hole down off of Honore ave in Sarasota.3 lbers are not uncommon and all you have to do is fish the deep ledge drops near the trees and stickups with minnows 4 -8 ft deep on average. For dirty or stained water we have around here I have had great success with 1/8 and 1/16 road runners in all white and hot pink/black. The best time for specks in Florida is quickly approaching. They will start moving up shortly to spawn in the shallower water and become very easy to catch. Ever the ponds off of 30th st W in Bradenton. One of my best little spots for specks.

Structure Tips
Right, plus everything is a fish on the screen.Weeds, brush, air bubbles, turtles, litter, even water density and or temperature changes will trigger a "fish" symbol at times,at least on my cheap eagle unit. I am trying to learn to not use it and to see how well it can locate bait. More importantly, like others have said,I am now fishing lots of places I never even imagined before.Subtle breaks, secondary points, and even small creek channels that I was not aware of before.

Birds are eating lots of forage...
I'd love to find out if it is legal to shoot em.I normally don't concern myself with things that are part of natural habitat, but these guys are just plain annoying and i have seen them wipe out the shad at a few of the small ponds I fish.Luckily the bass will still feed heavy and bluegill and tilapia. They also swim under water and I have on a few occasions snagged them on crankbaits and an epic battle began. : ;D They also have a nasty habit of flapping close to the water as they fly and always seem to do it right as you launch a cast.Nothing like flying a kite first thing in the morning. : I have entangled them several times in mid air as well. They flock and sleep together and when in the early morning if you aproach a bank line or island where are all sitting they will simultaneously take flight and cause a hell of a ruckus as they flap the water and dive in.Sounds like a several dozen boulders being dropped in the water > The only single good thing I have found they are good for is that they will tell you whether or not a lake or pond is fertile and has a good forage base.Around here any place that is loaded with shiners and threadfins is chock full of these nasty squakers by the hundreds as well.Sometimes there will be several of them feeding in one location and sure enough if you go fish that side thats where the bass are too. I find that mildly handy since I do a lot of pond scouting and if I find a stunted little dink factory or a body of water devoid of fish then there are also never any birds in the trees at these places either.

Grande Bass Rattlesnakes
I think the real point is do you really want to have a site that is nothing but spammers trying to promote their baits with pop ups and ads.It would be very hard to seperate all fantasic info from the BS. Advertising is a service and it isn't free. Ps. Sorry Glenn.I'll keep my nose out of it.. :-X

hyacinth techniques?
x2, and the bass are twice as hard to wrassle out of this stuff than hydrilla or pads. Sometimes you actually have to chuck the bait straight up in the air and make it crash down through.

Jigging spoons and water clarity

Jigging spoons and water clarity
I would like to please get a little input on perferred water clarity for jigging spoon techniques. I was curious about trying this technique in a shell gravel pit that has a max depth of around 40 ft in spome spots and an average depth of 25 ft or so off the sides of offshore humps and ledges. The main ledges run about 6-8 ft deep and drop like walls straight off.The water is very off color and a tanic brown tea color usually.Visibilty with a white lure would probably be 1.5-3 feet on average. This place gets cranked and carolina rigged to death, which is effective, but not particularly during high skies when all the fish are suspended out away from the structure. Would this be a good thing to try? I know for sure that nobody around here does it in these places that I have seen or heard anyways. Is this a clear deep water technique only? Florida guys feel free to chime in too. Thanks a lot. J

Lucky craft sammy alternatives
I'm drooling over the Rico Suave too. Boy don't you know it! I know what the fish will do with the Ricos and if that bait is of similar quality then lookout. 8-)

Lucky craft sammy alternatives
People are mentioning spooks which is fine and they are some of my favorite baits of all but it is a different animal than a bait like a Sammy. A great bait that is similar is the BPS slim dog best bang for the buck except it only comes in a comparable 100 size not 115. I also like the Cultiva zip n ziggy and the reaction innovation vixen which has a very unique sound.

Rapala X-Rap Subwalk
I am sure it MAY fill a niche somewhere and it is cool looking but in my opinion don't waste your money. The action is lacking and it just looks goofy in the water.

Otter in my fishing pond
I have seen families of otters in a few of the ponds I frequent and yes the fishing has declined significantly. Most of that probably has to do with overall pressure(from me) and other @$$&^$ taking too many bass out. The question still remains: What kind of fish do these critters mainly devour??? Do they eat bait and panfish or bass?

New Trokar Hooks- World's Sharpest!
You cant really resharpen owner cutting points but they also hold and edge a whole lot longer than other hooks and the knife like point will go through the top of a hogs bony jaw like lukes lightsaber. Personally I think the top brand hooks we have now are about as good as a fish hook will ever be and there can't be any justified reason to pay that much more for something else.As long as there are people that can afford whatever the heck they want in this world there will always be luxury products that are way overpriced and no better.

what's with the sexy shad dilemma?
It is an incredible color aound here in the kind of waters I fish. The sexy red eye shads outproduce all of our other lipless cranks. I have confidence in it. on the other hand though white and shad variation patterns work great too.

Cold Front coming...got a find my shoes
Killed them this morning just as that cold air was pushing through on topwaters then giant worms. Got to love it! The cranking bite never quite made it today though and suprisingly since it has been off the hook the last few weeks. I was wearing shorts, sandals, and a T and froze my arse off though since it was drizzling and 15 mph wind. ;D
