Well try the SS Jr. It is a great lure! I used to think the full size SS was way to big until I seen fish around 2 lbs or a little less smack the holy dog crap out of it.I have come to find that the large size can really turn them on sometimes,as it appears to be a large one shot full meal deal. DISCALIMER: Just my opinion though.there is no real evidence however that I have ever used or caught a fish on a spook in my life.I could be posing as an expert in the subject.I dont fish large high pressure lakes and tournaments,so I could be a wannabe. lol

Love the spook! One thing I do that I believe most dont is I narrow down an area and just pitch it short distances a few feet apart.I can cover a whole lot of water this way and make a more quiet precise entry right next to the cover whatever it may be.

One other small point to remember is that the lower the gear ratio the more "power"you have winding the line in. Its just like riding a bike.The high gears are for when you are moving fast or going down hill.In other words your rear wheel turns faster with eash pedal you push because you are using a very larger front sprocket.When riding uphill you go into low gear.The rear wheel wont turn as many times thus making it easier to pedal,but you wont mave as fast. This is why some people prefer a lower gear ratio for cranking.A deep crank can be like pulling a 1 ton weight all day,,but with the exra power low gear its easier.

Add me to the list.5-11 and 140. Been hearing the malnourishment crap my whole life,but yet can eat as much as a 350lb man LOL. I eat at leat 3 times a day or in other words every 4 to 6 hours.I burn it off so quick. Also very expensive when I go to get groceries nowadays.

Agreed it takes all kinds of people to make a place like this and everone has their certain contributions. One thing that needs to be said though is: without a few people like him in a place like this, then what do we have? Nothing,and things could get a little bit on the boring side. My .01 worth on the matter. :-/

If your talkin jigs then I prefer in no particular order: half of a zoom super hog and brush hog net bait paca craws GYCB double tail grubs sizmic toad rage craws(I dont buy the chunks,just rip off the top of the body from the spent craws I use) Trailors for a spinnerbait: I like a zoom super fluke junior or plain original fluke

Thats cool.I was just going to post a thread about it tonight with a picture. You can just use your imagination here and show the fish a different looking bait. They are awesome on a carolina rig,naturally.But here is what else I did with it,it is an exceptional technique: Take a 3/0 or 4/0 EWG rig as normal for texpose.Insert a small bell sinker or BPS internal tube weight in the rear.Put the end of your hook throught the loop in the bell sinker(or hole in the tube weight) and texpose/skin hook as normal.The bait is now rear weighted and will glide backwards when paused on slack line.Lift and drop like a senko or twitch,twitch,walk and pause, like a fluke,then let it fall back into the fishs face.DEADLY! You can also put the weight forward on the bend in the hook shank and it will fall slightly forward.I prefer the rear weight.

Exactly. Unless you get one of those senko fish that you dont ever even feel. Man they have a bad habit of slurping those and swallowing them. :-/ The question I got is:What is anyones take on a gill hooked fish? You know when you pierce part of the gill tissue and they instantly spurt blood all over the place.It is unavoidable sometimes when using trebles,and thats exactly why I quit using the sure set hooks.

The Ika is my go to bait for hauling water. :-/ I have heard so many good thing about it though. I am sure I will get along with it someday.For now it's just one of those things that just doesn't cut it for me. :-[

Ahhh.I agree in a sense,but the floating version kicktail is actually pretty darn sweet when the fish are schooling and busting.I dont like the sinking diving ones.

HA HA x3 here! Same thing.Bought 3 packs in 3 different colors.Threw them about five minutes and havent left my "extras"bag since.Need to give them away to someone. Hate to be a copycat but the other go to bait that I thought was going to be a hit was the blade dancer.I (stupidly) went out and got 4 different ones in a 3/8oz and 3 different ones in a 1/4oz and 1 pack of the tiny ones.The tiny ones are the only ones I catch fish on including crappie.The others are just adding weight to my box. On the other hand though, when they came out with the one with the weed guard I found It to be a pretty darn good slop bait, around pads especially.

I've been trying to figure out what to do when the fish swims clear under the boat and jumps on the opposite side.Crazy when that happens.

Absolutely no way to keep track for me since fishing season never ends around here and I go between 3 and 5 days a week.The only way would be to install one of the counter clickers to the side of the boat.
