  1. I did that... Just being sensitive to the "swear" factor.
  2. "It's not a Tummmmmor!!!!!!!! As far as the pain goes, go see Dr. Summerhoff on Park Ave. in Cranston....he'll square you away!!!! I'll check E-Bay for a bed!!!!!!!
  3. True....you OK?? It was time for a new ride anyway
  4. I know...I know... But I had to say it. Long winter and short summer leads to??? I don't know what this screwed up weather will do to the fishing, guess we'll see IF the weather ever clears. I don't remember this ever happening before. maybe Al Gore was right!!??
  5. Without reading the other responses, I would say it is a "pit" of some kind. (limestone mining etc.). The clearness of the water might indicate that it is spring fed, at least partially. Check with the local zoning/planning office in that area. The should be able to fill in any blanks!! Good luck!!
  6. Especially braid......you can tow a car with that stuff!!! I put all my line in the glove box of my boat and then toss it at home.
  7. Hey all, I am looking to purchase my first set of REAL foul weather gear. My top two choices are the Bass Pro Shops Pro Qualifier and the Goretex 100 MPH gear. Which would be the better choice?? The price seems right around the same give or take $10.00. Any other brands you folks might suggest??? Thanks!!!
  8. From Heritage dictionary: sim·i·lar (sm-lr) KEY ADJECTIVE: Related in appearance or nature; alike though not identical. Hey Ponch...is this OK??? If I catch a Crappie, it's by accident. I think they are the "Devil's Fish" with those google eyes and all. But by all means, you have at 'em!!!
  9. Wow, they do look similiar....
  10. Crappie...same thing different name???
  11. Some place warm...PLEASE!!!!!! I can't take another winter without fishing!!!!!
  12. Years ago, they drained down the pond and cut many of the stumps out because of pleasure boaters. Some guys I know do well there, I don't. Try it out....you may kill them. ajr
  13. Stump Pond...you either love it or hate it. I hate it. I have heard it's better at night. It's on Pleasant View Ave. in Smithfield RI 02917. It's about 2 miles from Rt. 295 North. ajr
  14. I think this has gotten out of hand...... I will say this before this gets taken down, which it should. JC has a strong personality Paul as do you, as do I and many others on this board and who fish tournaments. I think I am a good judge of character. I have dealt with people for 25 years in my job and saw "real" bad people. Is JC abrasive at times...yes. Do I bang heads with him...yes...lots. Is he head strong about the way he does things and how he feels....you bet. That having been said: There has NEVER been a time in the year or so that I have known him that he has ever declined a request for help from anyone. His tournaments are full of some of the best fishermen in RI. I hope to be as good as them some day. They flock to John for advice, help, and when it comes to charity, there is no one who does more and says less about it than John. He is all business and loud, no doubt. Remember that someone can only be a dictator if YOU allow them to. When he is wrong...I tell him, so does Mike, and Jigga, and Carl. Problem is, when it comes to fishing, he is not wrong very often. So again Paul, I wish you luck and the best in life and fishing, by I agree with some of the others....you are way off base on this one. Peace!! ajr
  15. The guys on "Deadliest Catch" seem to do OK!!!! :
  16. Thanks WRB, That's what I thought, but I always like to check with the guys on here!!!! ajr
  17. I would further say inactive and suspended not swimming.
  18. Hey all.... When fish are suspended, do they tend to look up towards the surface, down towards the bottom, or straight ahead/side to side?? Give your opinion (or facts) and why you feel that way. ajr
  19. Not much of a memory, but INSTINCT......that's important also. ajr
  20. I'll find out what colors are "working" at a lake/pond and throw something TOTALLY different...seems to work.
  21. I was jig "newbie"....hate to fish slow. A friend got me into it. It does basically imitate a craw fish, which is one of the bass' #1 forage. Fishing a jig also teaches patience....an attribute I stuggle with DAILY!!! It takes a while to learn the bite, but once you get used to it, you have a valuable assest in your fishing tool box. I now LOVE the jig!!!!! Check out the tutorials here under "Fishing Articles." Good stuff. Good luck!!! ajr
  22. Well, I am sorry about that, really.....but I still don't know what you mean. Hope you feel better.
  23. And you, of all people! Shall we get into this :-? What?????
  24. Wow....that's it....just WOW!!! :
