Senko worms - best colors?
Hey all.... I just got into senkos this past late summer-fall so i don't have alot of experience using them. Before that, worms only. LBH had given me this advice which I found helpful. Mimic the color of what fish eat. Darks, green, browns, blacks. I've never seen a yellow bait fish in fresh water (lol), but you never know. I'm gonna add a question...wacky rig, T-rig, what rig works best with senko's for you? Alan

Hybrid lure..spoon/lipless crank....
Hey all and happy Holidays... I picked up an interesting and, I think unique lure this week. It is a Hybrid between a spoon and I would say a lipless crankbait. Not something I see in the stores around here (Rhode Island). I got two weights, 1/2 and 3/4 oz. Has anyone fished these before? What's the best presentation? They LOOK like they will be real effective. bassnajr

Next Year?
Good question NYTEX..... I have already bought a set-up just for jigs, and different jigs in different colors, weights, rattles etc. I never throw them because they require patience...I don't have alot of that. But maybe if I work on my Jiggin'...I'll get more patient...Hmmmm???? bassnajr

Google Earth
Hey all.. Google earth is great. I am also looking into whether or not Navionics makes a software for your home computer that you can print out paper maps of lakes in your area. Anyone knows about this...let me know!! One warning Google Earth..uses up A LOT of space on your computer. So if you download it and you computer seems REALLLLY SLOOOW...that's what it is. PS Hawgcaller...you are not paranoid. I watched a show on MSNBC on how the "Terrorists" are also using Google Earth. But don't worry...I think we give them the wrong maps!!! ;D bassnajr

One rod...one reel...five baits..let's here your opinion!!!
Hey all and hapy Holidays to everyone here on BassResource.com !!! OK hope to get a lively discussion going.... You have been selected to fish with one of the Elite Series Pros. A few conditions though..... You will not know where you are going to be fishing (part of the country, type of lake/pond, etc.) and further, you can take only one rod, one reel, and only FIVE BAITS!!! With all the experience on this forum, I look forward to the answers!!! bassinajr

Bassmasters vs. FLW
Hey all... I know the majority are peed off right now at B.A.S.S. with good reason but I taped my fishing shows this morning and watched both Bassmasters and FLW Outdoors. Is it my imagination or is a majority the FLW broadcast ads and non-fishing garbage??? Don't get me wrong I like FLW. The guys seem more like regular Joe's you'd meet at the local bass pond. More fishing less ad bombardment. PS Does anyone have a status on the Junior Championship situation? Any fallout or response from B.A.S.S. ??? AJR

Top of the line BPS rods vs. the name brand rods?
Hey all... Santa is bringing me lots of BPS gift cards for Christmas and I am thinking of upgrading a few of my rods. I have some nice reels (spinning and baitcast) but my rods are, well, cheapies.... I know, stupid!!! Any how, I value the opinions of the folks here and I am wondering if there are any BPS rods that are worthy of being mentioned in the same conversation as G.Loomis, Kistler, St. Croix etc. Does anyone know who makes the rods for BPS? Thanks beforehand!!!! bassinajr

What is a fair price for a canoe?
Hey I have been looking for a canoe for the same reason. I'm going used. IMO you can get a fantastic canoe for $400-$500 dollars anywhere (Dicks for example). Is this guy willing to throw in what you will need to use the canoe? (Oars, PFD's, a canoe buddy, clip on seat, you get the point). At that point I think it would be worth the $350.00. If they are really going out of business (canoes) they won't want to blow a deal and poabably will throw in all the acessories. That's worth $350.00 right? Good luck ans enjoy that X-mas canoe!! bassinajr

Scents for bass home made or store bought????
Hey all... As I organize my gear (for the third week in a row) and watch the wind blow the frozen rain around, my mind traveled to the topic of scents for lures. I shopped for them last spring and realized that what's in the stores is in my cupboards!! I've posted on this before, but want to run it by you folks again. Why pay high prices (right LBH ??) for things we can make or do ourselves. Anyone have a semi-secret scent recipe to pass on? Do you all feel that scents work in the first place?? Here's mine..simple and not so secret!!! I take the liquid from the bottom of my wife's minced garlic (don't take too much, they DO notice!!) and mix it with olive oil. Add a bit of cayenne pepper from the wife's spice rack, just a bit, or not. Put it in a $.99 spray bottle from target and TA DA!! probably the same or better than store bought. I use the oil, any kind would do, I suppose, so that the scent sticks to the lure better. (Oil based vs. water based I guess.) I use olive oil because I live in RI!!!! bassinajr
