HELP ME NAME MY BOAT!!!
Clock Work Orange? Mango Tango? I just sold my Malibu Mini-X yak and ordered a 10' Nu Canoe in camo brown that should be here one day next week (I'm hoping Monday or Tuesday so I can call in sick and FISH on Wednesday). The Nu Canoe appears to be VERY spacious and extremely stable so I will be able to STAND and fish. IF it isn't, and once again I think it will be, once I add the outriggers/stabilizers to it, it will be!!! I'll be posting a complete review of the Nu Canoe in the Bass Boating and more forum once I've fished the Nu Canoe!! You can read my review of the Mini-X there if you like. Yaks and/or Yak/Canoe Hybrids are the "cat's whiskers" in small ponds and lakes, IMO:o)

TV Shows
Playboy Channel. OK, OK, that was a "rib". I normally watch movies on the Premieum channels like HBO, STARS, SHOWTIME, but when I do watch commercial TV, it's usually reruns of Fraiser, Two and a Half Men, Everybody Loves Ramon or movies on TMC, TBS. I also tape and watch Bass Pros, Lindner's Angling Edge, and Bass Edge and any other fishing program that I happen to see in time for taping. Some of the Discovery and History channel stuff is extremely good and I watch and tape it as well. "The Last Stand of the 300" was awesome!!!

When to start with frogs???
I've seen some BIG bass come clean out of the water hitting stuff on top in the tullies the last 2 trips out. I'm throwin a frog or Hula Popper in the early hours next time I'm out (probably next weekend due to projected rain).

I JUST GOT MY NEW BOAT
Congrats!! I'm envious!! My wife told me last night that I could buy me a nice used bass boat IF I'd not retire for another year. Dirty pool as far as I'm concerned! Luckily for me all I'll really need is the Nu Canoe that should arrive early next week. 55 working days left!!!

Need help explaining Catch and Release to someone
IF the guy is set in his ways, then you are facing an uphill battle. I only hope he is either eating the fish he keeps or giving them to someone who does. Shame to waste the resource by someone taking them home "for show" and then throwing them away. I would suggest pointing out the POSITIVES of "catch and release', especially during the spawn. Certainly hope you are successful and can persuade him in the right direction. GOOD LUCK!!!

Do different species of fish compete for prime spots?
MUSKY: all other fish are just bait! Top of the food chain as far as freshwater species go. Large pike are pretty darn close, IMO. Big fish with TEETH and nasty attitudes.

A THANK YOU and TO SHOW MY GRATITUDE TO GLENN

Coleman inflatable boat for bass fishing
Welcome to the BEST bass fishing forum on the Net! Years ago I bought a small 2 man inflatable raft like that to float on the San Diego river and catch bass. IF that's all you can afford, then go for it but be careful of punctures and ALWAYS wear a PFD when in it. You will also need a CANOE paddle to get around and some kind of makeshift anchoring system to keep from being blown all over the place by the wind. You can just get a small nylon mesh bag and put some rocks in it and tie your anchor line to that if you can't afford one of the 1.5 pound mini-anchors that are available at most kayak stores or on Ebay. Just be careful when you use it and you should be OK. I never had any problems with the one I used but they aren't all that comfortable for long hours of fishing. IMO:o) PS: do NOT overload that raft if you get one and ALWAYS remember that those kinds of inexpensive rubber or vinyl boats DO NOT mix well with sharp objects like hooks and lures and the rest of the stuff commonly used by fishermen!!!

OMG only in the county where I live could this happen
Obviously he is NOT from the deep end of his family's gene pool:o) Ahgagagagaga!!

Bought a 'toon
A small electric air pump or one that plugs into the cigarette outlet on your car/truck is what most guys use. You can also get a stand up double action manually operated cycling pump that should work well too. I can't imagine using a hand held pump on one of those suckers without the fear of a coronary!!

Bought a 'toon
You could easily build yourself a little two wheeled transport cart out of PVC sort of like the kayakers use (and I'm gonna build one myself for my Nu Canoe). Check out the kayak fishing stuff site and you'll see detailed plans on how to build a nice cart that easily disassembles so you can then just take it along with you and then reassemble it when you finish your outting.

A couple of newbie questions
Welcome to the BEST bass fishing forum on the Net, IMO! Fishing from your boat will be a "whole different ballgame" than randomly fishing from the shore!! It is going to open up MANY, MANY areas where there are bass/fish that you'd have trouble catching from the shore. I've continually tried to convince my wife of that fact and I think she's finally had the light turn on in her head!! If you wanna increase your chances of catching more and bigger fish, you almost gotta be out on the water to do it. I know there will probably be some guys who will disagree with my line of thought, BUT that's the way I SEE IT. I've ALWAYS had more success when fishing from a boat. Besides, I like to stealth my way into the tullies along the shore and have a blast trying to "pull a few" outta there!!! Again, WELCOME to BR. It's one Fantastic Forum!!!

HEARTBURN

Frogs
Ribbit, ribbit! One of the largest bass I ever caught in my younger years was on a frog! It was a small LIVE frog that I caught by the pond and hooked through the lips and tossed out into the middle of the smallish pond we had sneaked into. I watched as my line moved slowly around and then it just plain STOPPED. I figured the frog had "bit the big one" so I yanked the line and a huge bass flew from the water's surface with the frog hanging out of it's mouth. I will NEVER forget that glorious sight or how excited I was at that instant! TRUE STORY. As far as frog lures go, I LOVE all the topwater stuff. Frogs, Hula Poppers, Jitterbugs and on and on and on. IMO - nothing can compare to a bass or any other species of fish exploding on a topwater presentation. It's AWESOME!!!

So, how much longer do we have?
No way, Jose!!! I sometimes type in the "El Buffo" and that's not something to be taken, or SEEN, lightly!!! Ahgagagagaga!!!
