Trouble posting pics
Might be too large of a file. Try resizing it smaller and then resubmit it. I had the same problem this AM. The FAQ tutorial explains it all nicely.

Tackle Boxes
Check out the "Tackle Box Choices" thread on this forum just down the page a little bit. The $20.00 red Okeechobee bag with 4 3600 Plano boxes might be a good option for you too. Walmart usually has them.

A farewell to one of the greats...
Of all the NFL quarterbacks I liked Brett the best. He was a gritty player who played with pain and never complained. One of the all-time greats, IMO!! It's going to be very difficult for GB to replace him.

Poll:favorite lure type
I love to fish topwater but seldom do since the plastic worms have been the most productive baits the last several times out. Jigs with tubes have also been a good producer for me. Later this year I'll revert back to some topwater during the early and late hours of the day. Nothing like a topwater strike to get your heart pumping. IMO:o)

Tackle box choices
I have the large Okeechobee bag and I absolutely love it! I continually take things out of my other 4 hard shell tackle boxes to put in it, depending on what type of lures I want to use on any given day. The smaller bag is also nice and I may end up with one of them too. With the Plano 3600/3700 boxes, all you really need is a heavy duty canvas type bag to carry them in. Something like a gym bag or equipment bag would suffice nicely. The Okeechobees also have end and side pouches/pockets to carry additional smaller boxes, sunglasses, cell phones, etc., etc.

Unbelievable!!!
First of all CONGRATULATIONS on your one year anniversary! Your wife obviously understands your passion for fishing. With that kind of compatibility you are one lucky fellow. Come to think about it, I'd say most of the wives of the BR guys understand and support our passion. They might not like the $$$s we spend on it, but they at least tolerate it to some degree:o) It also appears you had one NICE day out there on the lake!

State VS State -------- Game ON!
OK, I hope I got this all figured out correctly. I just checked the CA.Gov site and it states that the CA state record for LMB is 21.12. Yesterday I caught one LMB that weighed 1.3 pounds (small, I know, but hey, it was the only one I got all day) I do have a picture of me and the fish but I don't know how to post it on the thread (any help will be appreciated - I can email the pic to someone if he/she can then post it for me). Anyway: 1.3/21.12 = .06155 x 100 = 6.155 Hopefully I'll better that next time out!! NOTE after UrbanRedneck's post: DANG, the rest of the CA guys are gonna be TOUGH!!!

What's Your Favorite Fishing Smell?
I'll have to ditto the smell of the morning dew and mist as it evaporates off the water's surface. The sound of loons and ducks is also a sheer joy to hear as well.

Tryin to get better at bass fishing
Personally I have learned a LOT from reading all the posts on this Fantastic Forum!! I also watch Lindner's Angling Edge, Bass Masters, and Bass Edge on OLN (I think that's the channel) and those programs are excellent when it comes to teaching lure selection and techniques. There are numerous videos that are available as the rest of the BR guys will tell you about. I just think you can pretty much learn almost everything you need to know from the posts on BR and watching TV programs AND going out there and catchin' 'em:o)

How often do you get skunked?
Well, honestly not all that much, BUT it really depends on "the bite" and all the associated factors that make it up on any given day. IF we're talking JUST bass fishing, then I'd say about 20% of the time I get skunked but even on those days I do usually get opportunities to catch a few (stirkes that I fail to set the hook on). For instance, last Saturday I set the hook on a smallish bass that ended up getting all tangled in the reeds at the side of the boat. We saw him and as I was reaching down to get him he flopped around and spit the hook. Did I catch that fish: NO, but I did have him on the line and even got to see him. I don't consider a fish caught until I have it in hand. Unfortunately that was the only hookup that I had all day. I had several other nice strikes that I missed, so I'd say I got skunked that day. BUMMER, but it still was a great day. My fishing partner had 4 great hookups, of which he only boated one nice 2 pounder. IF I want to go to almost any lake, pond, or river and just catch any species of fish, I can generally succeed all the time (if I have the time to just wait it out). Catfish, bluegill, crappie, carp are far less elusive than bass, IMO:o) Walleye and Musky are pretty darn elusive too, I've been told, but I hope to catch a few of them later this year.
