  1. Great picture. The bass hiding under those pads are itching to destroy a weedless frog or large popper! Put one of those in there and WATCH OUT!! IMO:o)
  2. + .25 cents/gallon here in So CA. ANY excuse at all is excuse enough to rape and plunder the consumer. IMO! $4.00/gallon for 87 octane is only a blink away. I must say that I was relieved to see that no one was killed in such a violent explosion like that.
  3. Must be hard to be torn between two passions. I'm sure the right decision will be made for/by your family. You certainly have all the support of all the great BR members regardless of which choice you make!!
  4. Best of luck to you, Robert!! There certainly are a lot of tequila drinkers out here in So CA!!
  5. Kuddos to the Naval personnel responsible for that NICE SHOT!!!
  6. Welcome to the BEST bass forum on the Net, IMO! Have you tried the Fat Ikas that RW raves about?? I know I'm gonna get me a few packs of them for my next outing. Just a thought. You might also want to try 6" Senkos which seem to attract larger bass.
  7. Good looking boats for someone who might be fishing small lakes/ponds alone and wants something that can be carried in the back of a truck. THANKS for the link to the site!!!
  8. Welcome, Bass Tracker to the BEST bass fishing forum on the Net, IMO!! Many, many great folks on here who will readily share their expertise and knowedge with anyone who wants a question answered. Why don't you please tell us a little bit about yourself if you'd like. Once again, a hearty WELCOME to BR!!!

FivePoundBluegill: Yep, it's the Lower Otay east of Chula Vista. I want to fish Upper Otay too and soon, but I've never been to it yet. I know you have to fish from shore or a float tube (which I don't have). Would you recommend that I buy one or just stay on the shoreline?? I know Upper Otay is SMALL but everyone says it has BIGGER bass in it than the larger lower resevoir(??). How do you fish it?? Any recommendations??
  10. Dean is RIGHT ON! I have one of those Okeechobee Fats bags and it IS "the cat's whiskers" as far as tackle boxes go, IMO. I can custom tailor the individual boxes to carry whatever I want to throw on any given day. In fact, I did just that last Friday before our last outing. You are NOT just limited to the 8 boxes that come with the bag! I carry about 4 of the larger boxes filled with plastics and another 4 - 6 smaller boxes filled with cranks, spinners, topwater, etc., etc. The bag also has nice side and end pockets that can accomodate a LOT of tackle or personal items like sunglasses, cell phone, etc. The bags can be bought on Ebay from time to time for about 1/2 of what Walmart sells them for. Still, $40 for a bag that versatile is a BARGAIN! I have 4 other hard shell tackle boxes and prefer the Okee over all of them.
  11. Dean: techno is OK if it's done right, IMO. My favorite techno song is the one that won the talent contest in the movie "Revenge of the Nerds")
  12. I usually carry a couple of spare spools of line in the test poundages that I'm fishing, just in case I need it. In fact, last Saturday one of our party needed to put some line on one of his spare spinning outfits and I was able to accomodate that. Cheap insurance, IMO:o)
  13. Clever way to fish. I'd love to see what a 60"+ Musky would do to that boat. "Eat it I suppose" - Quint
  14. That's a song?? Sorry, I don't hear much worth listening to and I kinda have to agree with Olebiker. "It's A Small World After All" - now that's an addicting song, IMO:o)
  15. My daughter who lives at home has 4 cats, one of which is a monster sized male Siamese and they are ALL like that when it comes to taking pills. She normally crushes them up and hides the powder in a spoon of soft food that she tries to get them to eat (usually works OK). That is a funny story though. My two St. Bernards will eat ANYTHING I place in their mouth, no problem at all. In fact, they'd eat the pill BOTTLE or foil if I let them:o)
  16. Keep your older truck and just fix it up. Unless you can afford a brand new truck, you won't know how a newer used truck was cared for and you do know how your's has been over the years. IMO:o)

Sorry about the pictures. I suffered DAIN BRAMAGE and didn't take any. Won't happen again. My wife and daughter both "chewed me out" about that too.
  18. Yep, they do a lot of work for all of us and it is CERTAINLY APPRECIATED!!! THANKS A MILLION:o)

Saw an 85 lb cat that this guy caught when we came off the water Saturday at Lower Otay Lake. That was the biggest dang fish I've ever seen live! Guy said he broke the record at Otay a few weeks ago with a 98 pounder!! Those are some big fish!!
  20. Late night snacks include popcorn and sometimes Special K Redberries with some fresh blueberries thrown in. When I'm going out fishing I try to eat a large breakfast or stop for some breakfast sandwiches to eat on the way. While fishing I rarely eat anything other than an apple or banana and a diet soda or two. I just don't wanna waste time eating when I'm fishing:o) The last two outings I've fished for 9 hours straight each time! Fishaholic?? You BET!!!
  21. Welcome back, Bob!! Yep, life can sometimes sidetrack anyone. Glad to see another BR member return to this Fantastic Forum! I predict that every BR member will have a GREAT season!!

  24. +2 to the "Can I have your boat" question posted by ejtaylor822:o) I really NEED to get me a boat (actually 2 of them, one for Indiana and one for San Diego:o)
