  1. Custom built mega-thousand dollar motorcycles WITHOUT real Harley Davidson engines are NOT CHOPPERS as far as I'm concerned. I've owned and ridden Knuckleheads, Panheads, Flatheads, and Shovehead CHOPPERS in the past. They WERE real HDs, not imitation 200 cubic inch knockoffs. A real "chopper" is nothing more than a stripped down stock HD with maybe a bobbed rear fender. Geez, rent and watch "The Wild Angles" with Peter Fonda and Nancy Sinatra and Bruce Dern if you wanna see some real choppers ("Easy Rider" will do in a pinch:o)
  2. Read my views on this kind of thing on the "girl shot over potato chips" thread
  3. Ditto to what T/ Stokes said. BAD parenting and negligence on their part. I AM a multiple gun owner and have been for years, even when my kids were young. The guns and/or any ammo I had was always LOCKED in a SAFE. IMO, today's society has become so desensitized to the killing of others via video games and movies that sensationalize killing on a grand scale, that kids THINK it's OK to do so, especially those who may be mentally impared to begin with (something any decent parent SHOULD know and attend to). Just my thoughts. Oh yeah, and since the bleeding heart libs have all but eliminated the DEATH PENALTY in most states, those who are inclined to commit violent crimes like murder are MORE apt to do it - IMO!!! Facing a DEATH PENALTY is one of the greatest deterants to many of the violentt crimes in this country as far as I'm concerned.
  4. Hula Poppers. I've always had success with them AND I'm OLD and kinda "set in my ways") Yep, I like them JitterBugs too!! When I start Fly Fishing for bass, I am going to probably tie my own poppers:o)

  9. Great!! Your cholesterol is just fine and PLOTTING to attack the arteries that lead to your heart with just a WEE bit of more help from Mr. Baconator. Ah, BACON: the great equalizer:o)
  10. 300 HP trolling motors?? Dang, I WANT one but I'd imagine that the battery needed to power one would weigh about 2 TONS:o(
  11. muddy wrote: Research this: It is physically impossible for the human head to get larger after a person hits 35 years old. Oh yeah?? Ya just wait until Jessica Simpson reaches 35 and see what happens!! Ahgagagagaga!!!

  17. Long Mike: YEP. At least until the BIG ROCK hits and ends all life on this planet as you know it:o) OR until it is DISCOVERED that Jessica Simpson has some other TALENT than her LEGS!!! Better get a call into Romo. He should be able to answer that, but I wouldn't bet on it:o)
  18. "Danger Will Robinson! Danger!" Global Warming is just a CYCLIC WEATHER PHASE that the Earth is currently going through. I hope:o)
  19. Matt 5.0: THAT picture is PRICELESS!!! I only WISH I had a picture like that of me and Pa-Paw fishing together (or of me and my Dad). You are SO fortunate! I am very envious! I know you cherish the memories.
  20. LMB. I like to fish for BIG THINGS:o) Oh yeah, I'd also like to catch me a mess of them Walleye PIKE, even though they are actually perch:o)
  21. I read your previous post when you bought your jon boat and didn't see any mention as to whether it was aluminum or fiberglass or poly?? IF you have access to get to the underside of the benches in any case, I would not recommend SCREWS! I would use small carriage bolts with a good size washer underneath to help spread out the load that will be placed on the benches by the plywood and the seats you intend to mount to it. Will the boat be used in a fresh water environment only??
  22. Well, I have an in-ground 40'x15' pool in the backyard but I don't cast lures into it for fear that my two St. Bernards would jump in and try to either rescue them or EAT them. Lord knows they eat everything else in sight:o)
  23. Great explanation, BUT remember what Curley said "Just this one thing!" and I happen to think he was talking about FISHIN' )
  24. DITTO x INFINITY to THAT!!! I'd also like to thank my Dad who eventually took me fishing more than my Grandfather (my Pa-Paw as I used to call him) who actually raised me until I was around 13 years old. HERE'S to you, Pa-Paw and Dad!!!
  25. Welcome to the Best Bass fishing forums on the Net!! I'd say read as many of the superb articles that you can here on BR about those small 2 man boats. I know that the Bass Hound gets rave reviews and is quite a bargain if you can find a used one. Reportedly very stable and adequate size for two people, although I think it weighs more than you'd settle for (you can always buy or make a two wheeled dolly to move the boat to and from the water). I am considering trying to find one for myself when I retire in a few months. Another option is one of the BETTER quality inflatables such as a Skookum cataraft, but they tend to be very pricey new and finding a two man one used will be very difficult (I know, I've been looking:o) Good luck on whatever you end up purchasing and once again, WELCOME to BR!!
