  1. The baitmonkey doesn't permit me to gamble:o)
  2. riverfisher: TANKS, I needed that or at the very least deserved it:o) I was NOT and would NEVER intentionally "rub someone's nose" in the fact that they live in a bad weather climate some of the year! My Mom, brothers and sister all live in Kankakee, Illinois which is about 45 miles from the mini-farm I bought in Indiana to live on when I retire and Mom told me yesterday that they were expecting 5 - 9" of snow. I told her I had to MOW my lawn this weekend, but NOW I'm going fishing instead. Don't know which would tick her off more. Here's hoping for an early Spring for all you unfortunate Easteners who have to suffer through bad weather. Heck, I might even have to wear my light jogging jacket over a sweatshirt tomorrow morning, at least until the sun gets a little higher.
  3. Now I know why the Easter Bunny didn't show up at my place this year. You guys ATE him! (
  4. ring fry: you are one TOUGH cookie and epitimize the fishing addiction we all share!
  5. I was 6' when I got up this morning but then I drove through this weird gray mist on the way to work and now I'm only 5'5"
  6. Jeremyt: I live in South San Diego about 20 minutes from both Upper and Lower Otay Lakes. Both are premier bass lakes in this area. Contact me when you get out here and maybe we can split a boat rental and wet our lines. I have MUCHO gear so that won't be an issue. You CAN fish from shore at Otay, but a boat is way better (except Upper Otay is shore or float tube only).
  7. 27 - 24 Giants. I'd like to see them both loose, but I guess that's not possible unless the cheerleaders played.
  8. Nah, weathers great today here in San Diego. In fact, I just found out that me and my Boss are going fishin' tomorrow morning on one of San Diego's premier bass lakes!! I'm SO STOKED!! Had to scurry over and buy my CA fishing license at Welfare & Rec. Boss is on the way to get his too!! He has a new 18' fully loaded bass boat but I don't recollect what brand it is at the moment. WOW, am I excited!! Now I gotta go home and get all my new gear ready to go!!
  9. Yippe! Just spoke to my Boss and we're taking his bass boat out early tomorrow morning and fishin' Lower Otay Lake here in San Diego. I'm STOKED!!! Finally get to use some of my new gear that I've bought over the past several months:o) I'll let ya'll know how we did when I get home. YEAH!! For those unfamiliar with the So.CA area, Lower Otay Lake is one of the PREMIER bass lakes around. I'm SO EXCITED!
  10. FLBassMan: are those one man Solo Bass Hunters stable enough to stand and cast from?? THANKS! kickbasskid: I apologize for asking a question on your thread. I kinda like the looks of the Solo Bass hunter myself and just wanted to know how stable they are once anchored:o)
  11. Dang, now I'm going to have that slinky song stuck in my head the rest of the day:o) I can still remember the scene in "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls" when Jim Carey is chasing that slinky down all those steps at the temple as he was leaving only to have it stop one step short and then ask the other guy "Can I do it again?" Laughed so hard I had to go and release some consumed brewskis back into the wild:o) Oh well, at least it's not "It's a Small World After All" Ah geez, now I done it!!
  12. I too love to fish at night during the hotter summer months. I particularly like being out pre-dawn when the morning mist is coming off a lake/pond and there are critters in the water eager to destroy a Hula Popper or JitterBug:o)
  13. A Vibra-Bat. Just kidding:o) I have a nice collection of them but they are not for usage. I'd probably go with a Texas rigged 6-7" worm or a jig and trailer. Dang, and I REALLY like Hula Poppers and JitterBugs too!
  14. Great punchline that I did NOT see coming!! I sympathise with the wife though since I am the one who daily does all the "Hop Sing" stuff around our home because the wife gets home later in the day than I do (i.e. cooking, shopping, laundry, feed the dogs, pay the bills, yaddie, yaddie:o) Even so, it doesn't keep those "brewskies" from finding there way into, and outta, my bod, but I gotta get 'em myself:o)
  15. +1 for the Pflueger President (and you might even be able to find a Supreme for $80 with a little searching around:o)
  16. Welcome to this Fantastic Forum from another transplanted Hoosier (I've been living in San Diego, CA. since 1968 but am going to be spending a lot of time in my home state of Indiana after I retire:o) IF you're ever going to be in Northern Indiana when I'm there, just let me know and we'll definately "wet a line".
  17. Bet the electric/utilities companies are happy. Do the warning signs have to be multi-language too? Best security is a BIG DOG(s) with an "attitude". Burglars/thieves/vandals will normally avoid any house/business if they know or even think there's a guard dog around. IMO.

You guys are FUNNY!!! I'm SO glad that I found this Fantastic Forum!!!
  19. KUDDOS to you, Glenn! Mucho rapido out here in So. CA and I'm liking it muy better:o)

+1 to what Tin said. A real college degree is money in the bank for your future. Save the physical element of working for fishing. IMO.
  21. Good one! Fortunately for me, my "cubical" is an entire 15 CPU classroom where I am alone when I'm not teaching computer software programs.... at least for 81 more working days until I RETIRE!!!)
  22. I've "hunted wabbits" with three feet on snow on the ground and the temps in the teens:o)
  23. DITTO to what KYbass1276 said! The "free ride" needs to have a time LIMIT and state politicians need to be held accountable for flagrant wastes of taxpayer $$$s. IMO.
  24. I'd ask that politician why he/she isn't spending his/her time on more important issues that are affecting our country and economy right now instead of wasting his/her time, which is paid for by taxpayers, on some stupid thing like cheating in a football GAME! Just my opinion.
  25. Welcome to this Fantastic Forum. IF you want to learn about fishing in general or get expert advise on bass fishing, you have certainly found THE RIGHT PLACE TO BE!! The guys and gals on BR are the "cat's whiskers" when it comes to fishing knowledge and expertise! ) IMO.
