  1. Information/knowledge that everyone should know/learn. THANKS for sharing it!!
  2. Movies I've seen over the past year and liked were "300" (awesome), "Balls of Fury" (funny - Enter the Dragon with Ping Pong Paddles and balls instead of Kung Fu), "3:10 to Yuma" (excellent western that I did not think I'd care for), "Astronaut Farmer" (any BBT fan should like this one), and "Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer" (way better than the original Fantastic 4 and Jessica Alba looks so FINE).
  3. $600 per person who earned more than $3K and paid taxes in 2007 up to $75K and $1200 per couple who earned more than $3K in 2007 up to a combined income of $150K and $300 for anyone who earned less than $3K and didn't pay any taxes. At least I think that's the way it's going to work out. Yeah, my wife and I may end up breaking even this year. Better than having to send out a couple of thousand.
  4. I have purchased 4 reels and 4 rods from them and have nothing but GOOD things to say about ALL Pro Fisher. In fact, I had ordered and received a Pflueger President BC reel when ALL Pro got 2 of the new Patriarch reels in and they let me send the President back, pay the difference in the reels and they sent me the new Patriarch (the President was still new in the box/unused). All Pro does a lot of Ebay auctions as well and that is where I found them. Hope this helps.
  5. Fenwick (and Shimano). Someday I'd like to get a G.Loomis and/or Kistler.
  6. "Collecting technique specific equipment is just part of the fun for a lot of guys. All your fishing can be done with one rod and three covers just about everything:" - roadwarrior Ditto to that. Still, I have several different rod/reel combos for different situations/fish species, including 2 fly rod setups. 4pwr: the name of the movie you were referring to is: "Days of Thunder" Tom Cruise played the rookie stock car driver named Cole Trickle and Robert Duvall was recruited to be his crew chief (I think his name was Harry Hogge in the movie).
  7. "1984" is going to be a little late. IF obese people would WALK to the donut shop down the street instead of getting in their car and driving, maybe they wouldn't be so obese in the first place(??). The real key to weight loss/management is EXERCISE and eating the RIGHT foods, IMO. Ever see an obese long distance runner or Tour De France cyclist?
  8. Looks like "something" Sasquatch might have deposited:o) Nah, it's just a rock. The whole planet is probably just a big barren rock, sans Christopher Lloyd.
  9. Very FUNNY!! IF there were MJ in the firewood it would sure mean "Don't Bogart that fireplace, my friend" )
  10. I only WISH I had all the MOPARS that I've owned over the years! My first car was a 1959 Plymouth Fury and my second car was a 1958 Plymouth Sport Fury with the 350 FXE V-8 and 2 four barrels (a real Fury like Christine was supposed to be, not a Belvedere). I've owned 'Cudas, RRs, GTXs, Chargers, Challengers, and a plethora of other nice "muscle cars" like Mustangs et.al. Geez, IF I had them now, I could hold my own personal auction:o) All I have now is my '69 Dodge 4 spd Hemi SuperBee (one of 92 built). It's my "retirement fund")
  11. "What really hacks me off" is when someone mentions Jessica Simpson and TALENT in the same sentence. IMO:o)

Great poems - particularly the second one!
  13. I used to watch the WWF all the time when my daughters and sons were young. We'd all sit and watch the Wrestlemania events together on Thanksgiving day while my wife slaved away cooking dinner. I won 4 tickets to a WWF match here in San Diego on a radio contest and when I took my daughters we were so high up in the bleachers/cheap seats that the wrestlers looked like midgets. My daughters were so disappointed that I bought row 2 ringside tickets the next time the WWF was in town and we got to see Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper as a tag-team wrestle Rick Flair and someone who's name I can't remember. I bought the girls the big foam Hulk fingers and all!! It was a lot of fun and certainly entertaining but quite expensive. Haven't watched wrestling since the kids grew up and lost interest in it.
  14. Glen: I'm envious!! Beautiful view AND fish!!
  15. Being a die hard Charger fan, I don't really like the Manning family much at all and since Turner, who is supposed to be some kind of offensive genius (clearly obvious last Sunday), has yet to demonstrate any real winning leadership/coaching ability, this may be the first year that I won't be watching the Superbowl. In fact, I told my wife that I'll probably just go FISHING that Sunday. I would have rooted for the Packers if they had won. I think Brett Farve had a great season and I like his attitude, enthusiasm, and demeanor towards the GAME of football and the fans!
  16. No. I think I'll stick to my 12MPG '69 Dodge Hemi SuperBee:o) At least until I sell it for retirement $$$s.
  17. Excellent & FUNNY stuff!! However, I don't think there is anything better than sex. IMO:o)
  18. I think I'm decended from English/Dutch, but I prefer to be of Scottish/Irish roots. Validates my drinking habit:o)
  19. The news of Heath Ledger's death was a shock to me. I always thought he was a fine actor.
  20. Ditto to what The Jake said:o) The old cliche: "you get what you pay for" is applicable to fishing reels too:o)
  21. +3: fighting (and I'd add landing and admiring:o)
  22. I have been researching ALL of the one/two person inflatable pontoon boats/catarafts and think that the Skookum Steelheader in the 9' size would suit my needs since I will most likely be fishing smaller ponds and lakes alone most of the time. The Skookum inflatables appear to be VERY well constructed and quite rugged. Does anyone on the BR forum have/use one of these fine pontoons (regular or guide series)?? Thanks!!
  23. There may also be some adverse SMELL involved with a rubberized undercoating type spray coating when it gets hot in the sun. I'd also be concerned about it getting all soft and tacky/sticky:o(
