You might be a Fishaholic if...
Fishing is the first thing you think about when you awake in the morning and the last thing you think about as you fall asleep:o)

line capacity question
Yo-Zuri Hybrid might be another option. More strength with smaller line diameter. 6# has almost 12# strength without the larger diameter.

THANKS, RW!! I knew I had posted a few times earlier this AM. I thought dimetia or senelity had finally set in when I didn't see those posts any longer:o)

A box showed up on my doorstep today...
I too like the Pflueger reels. I have a Supreme, President, and Trion spinning reel and one of the new Patriarch BC reels but I haven't had the chance to actually use them yet. I have been thinking about going out this Sunday. The last "box" that arrived at my door from the BM was my new Dyna-King Barracuda Deluxe fly tying vise that I also hope to start using soon:o)

Tarpon with a fly rod & float tube???
WOW! I'd bet he looks like a skier skimming across the water when he hooks a tarpon while in a float tube! Gotta hand it to him though. Pretty "guttsy" way to fish for a big'un, IMO:o)

Sneezing/ Arm Pain
+3 on the Chiropractor recommendation. Sounds like your sneezing may be causing pressure on the nerves that run down your arm:o( Several adjustments by a Chiropractor may alleviate the problem/condition!

Anybody here a coffee connoisseur?
I like Peet's coffee. Started drinking it after I found out it is Lance Armstrong's favorite brew. Too bad I can't cycle as great as he can:o) I rarely drink coffee any more. I've pretty much switched to green tea.

Science is cool!
"Kelp, it's human nature! Kelp, parents just don't like teachers blowing up their kids!" Del Moore (Dr. H.R. Warfield) to Jerry Lewis (Chemistry Professor Julius Kelp) in the original 1963 "The Nutty Professor" movie.

Mother nature is PISSED!!!
Yep. Even here in CA we're suffering some weird weather. Thunderstorms, high winds, heavy rains, and a tornado here and there. I saw this type of weather about 15 years ago around here. One day I was watching the sky/clouds and saw 6 funnel clouds form and then disappear back into the clouds. I've been in a few REAL tornadoes while living in Kankakee, Illinois and Richmond, Indiana and they are not fun! All you fellow midwesterners please stay safe and warm back there!!

The Chinese Food Diet
Same "effect" can be produced with some "good" Mexican food (i.e. refried beans, greasy enchilladas, chili releano:o) Chinese food: Orange Chicken, Kung Pow Chicken, Brocolli Beef, Chicken Fried Rice, Spicey Chicken - YUM, YUM, YUM!!! My favorites!!!

Your Dream Trip
Loch Ness, Scotland to look for Nessitara Rhombopterix, more commonly known as "Nessie"! Bait would have to probably be a full grown sheep! And since Plesiosaurs have some good size teeth, I'd use a steel cable leader and 20 ton test line. Wonder if Suffix makes any??

Who on BR would you like to fish with?
I would and hope to fish with any of the great BR members who live in the northwestern Indiana area after I retire in July. I just plain love to fish and fishing with someone who loves it as much as I do just makes the whole day a lot more FUN!!

How many in a good day?
Another "one is enough" guy, IF it's the right one! A nice bass, pike, or even cat if that's what I'm fishing for makes me happy (and possibly fed:o) Sure, I like to catch a mess of fish, but I don't like being "skunked" much at all.

Newbie intro. Plea for help.
I totally agree with what Avid said: buy some nightcrawlers and just let your son CATCH some fish, any fish! In fact, some redworms and a small, light weight pole with a simple push button type reel (closed face spinning) a hook, splitshot sinker, and a bobber should set him up to catch MANY bluegills and crappie (if they are in the pond). You could also make up some dougballs or buy some "stink bait" and have him bottom fish for catfish. The sheer joy he will have catching LOTS of those species of fish might possibly "hook him" on the sport (pun intended:o) No big secret to successfully catching bluegills, crappies, catfish and even bass on live bait. With redworms and a bobber the 'gills should really give you and your son some exciting fishing action! One last thought: you are doing something really great by taking your son fishing. It is a sport that you and he can enjoy together for an entire lifetime! I know I reminise and silently thank my Dad and Grandfather for having introduced me to fishing all those many years ago. It is such an exciting and fun sport and relaxing to boot! PS: the only stupid question is the one you don't/won't ask, IMO:o) The great guys and gals on BR eagerly share their wealth of fishing knowledge and expertise. BR is THE forum for fishing advice as far as I'm concerned.

Best and worst TV Shows...
Personally I like The Bass Pros, Bass Edge, In-Fisherman, and Lindler's Angling Edge (my favorite). I seldom watch any of the others that have been mentioned:o(

Best brand of braid
After reading a lot of posts on BR about which braid is best, I opted for SUFFIX.

Subpar Bowl XLII
I'm NOT watching the game either! Don't like the Mannings or the arrogant Patriots and their sneering coach. First SB that I'll have missed since I went skiing way back when San Fran beat the Bengals!I'm actually planning on going to Lake Poway to do some fishin')

danny the destroyer is at it again
....this idiot has more money than brains. Nope, that distinction HAS to go to the Spanos clan here in San Diego and their egotistical General Manager AJ Smith. IMO.

Java Monster
Guiness Extra Stout is a pretty good energy drink too (I always seem to have the energy to drink them:o) Lots of carbos! Only problem is it makes me sleepy and dopey and sometimes grumpy. Well, that covers 3 of the 7 dwarfs. Now, where's that Snow White sleeping?

This guy new how to live !!!
I hope to be out fishing at 100:o) Heck, I was rooting for George Burns to make the Century mark and fulfill his dream of playing the Paladium! (I think he wanted to play the Paladium although it may have been Carnegie Hall?)

Any cigar smokers?
Another expensive habit?? Is there a Cigarmonkey too?? Geez, I don't think I can afford many more and keep the wife and house too:o)
