I like Power pro, but you will get several opinions pretty soon. From older threads the most popular are, in no particular order....

Power Pro

Suffix Braid

Stren Super braid

Tuff line braid

Braided line is very subjective and will behave differently on different equipment. I would suggest doing a search on this site for braid and read. At the end of the day you will have to choose one and try it. You will either love it or hate it. It's not just about what brand, but size (line diameter), the size of your reel spool. Baitcaster or spinning reel, a lot is going on with how braid performs. Stick with it, if you find the one that suits your fishing style, you will be glad you did. JMHO

Suffix.

Samuria is suposed to be the best, but I can't justify the price... yet.

what redline said!!! :)

X2 on Redline's statement.  Sufix is the braid for me.

On a side note, has anyone tried the Stren Sinking braid?

I like the Spiderwire Stealth as well as the Stren braid. Both have performed for me.

Ronnie offered very good advice.

I'm currently using PowerPro braid and am very pleased with its performance.

I might switch to sufix braid next month, but right now I have no motivation to change,

because I really couldn't ask more from any fishing line (If ain't broke, don't fix it)

The difference between braided polyethylene and monofilament copolymer is "enormous",

but the difference between brands of braid may be mostly illusory.

I am kind of torn between, Suffix and Power Pro.

I have tired about everyone out there and the only one I didn't like was Tuff Line XP. It was definitely the most limp of any of them, but it just cut and nicked way to easy for my liking.

I've tried Suffix once, Stren and PowerPro many times.

I personally like Stren and PowerPro, but I haven't given suffix enough tries. From when I was using it, it was prety decent...

I guess I'm saying I like them all, they each have their own little quirks...PowerPro has a waxier feel than Stren but the wax seems to just rub off and make your finger green.  Besides that I think they're all pretty good =P

Spiderwire Stealth for spinning rods.  Although I only like the 6-20.  I tried 8-30 and swore I would never use it again.  My buddy talked me into trying the 6-20 and I will never use another line on my spinning rods.  (I like the smaller spinning rods though).  8-30 is fine for a baitcaster however.

This is another question that comes down to preference.  I've only used two types of braid.  Spider Wire and suffix.  Hands down suffix is way better.  I used it on a reel for a year and a half until I didn't have enough to function.  Yea it lost the green tint, but that is all it lost.  I probably will never use another braid.  I tried some spiderwire and it was so stiff i could make design's with it.  just wasn't the same.

Sufix braid is very good, much better than Power Pro.  I must have gotten a bad batch of Power Pro, cuz the color is flaking off the line & dusting up my reels.

The Sufix braid seems to be a tad thinner than PP also.  I checked both the 30 lb of Sufix & PP & I can tell that the Sufix is slightly thinner.

Only thing I wish Sufix would come out w/ that PP has is 40 lb (10 lb dia).  Most of my fishing w/ a baitcast reel I like this size line, it casts a bit farther than 50 lb braid.  Now I think of it, since Sufix is slightly thinner, than the 50 lb Sufix braid might be closer to the line dia of 40 PP.  I may have to look into that.

I have 65 lb Spider Wire Stealth on my musky reel.  The color is a much darker green than on PP.  I may not mind the stiffer Stealth since I'll be casting heavy lures w/ it.

I use PowerPro and it's been good to me.  Spidewire, however, might as well just come already backlashed and knotted on the spool you buy it on for me because I've had the worst of luck with it.

Does anyone have any experience with the BPS excel brand? It's going to be stupid cheap when the classic starts........

Alpster, that was the single best response to an often asked question that I've ever seen on the forum.
