  1. I'm IN D-1. No pictures to post, BUT with the great bass lakes in the area, WHY not give it a shot:o) Another reason to justify to the wifey why I NEED to FISH:o) Hey, what happens IF I catch a monster THIS coming weekend??
  2. RW: that's a CLEVER IDEA! Since my wife hates fishing, think I'd better stop at the exchange on the way home tomorrow and buy her some fishing stuff for Valentine's Day:o)
  3. Matt Fly: all the #8 Jr stuff may become COLLECTIBLE and be worth way more than you paid for it since he no longer is driving with Bud as a sponsor. I'd recommend holding onto it for a few years and see what happens. IMO:o)
  4. Hey guys: mind telling us the poop on these coffee lures??
  5. And don't forget a lanyard or "Croakie" to keep your expensive eyeware where it belongs: on your face. The Incredible Mr. Limpet already has a new pair of glasses:o)
  6. Ditto to what roadwarrior said. I really like the Yo-Zuri line on my spinning reels but have opted to spool my new baitcasters with Suffix braid (haven't gotten the opportunity to use the BC's yet - probably this weekend:o) The reason I went with Yo-Zuri is the increased strength with minimal line diameter. That stuff is STRONG and casts effortlessly. IMO:o)
  7. JHAWK13: I recently bought and used for the first time a Pflueger Supreme reel like the one you opted for. I spooled Yo-Zuri Hybrid 10# on it, mated it to a new Fenwick HMXS610MH and I think it is great. Congratulations on the new gear, BUT watch out for Mr. Baitmonkey:o)
  8. GatorBK: my HATS off to YOU!! You are one TOUGH COOKIE doing what you do!! And thanks for all that wonderful information/insight on 'gators!! Makes catching any species of fish, with the possible exception of "sharkin'", seem tame by comparison. IMO:o)
  9. I just saw on Yahoo Sports that Michael Waltrip got the outside row 1 position during qualifying for the Daytona 500 next Sunday. I must say that I really like him as a driver and human being. He seems to be a "down to earth" kind of guy and has a great love of the sport of racing. I think I might just root for him to win the championship this year (as well as the 500). I'm tired of Jimmy Johnson and some of the others dominating the sport so much (I know, they have the talent and $$$$s to win and rightfully deserve to do just that, BUT I almost always root for the/an underdog and Michael is just so likeable - IMO:o)
  10. I was VERY saddened to hear that Roy Schieder had passed away on Sunday. He was one of my favorite actors and, along with Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw, made "Jaws" the groundbreaking movie and classic that it is today. "Jaws 2" was OK only because Roy reprised his role of Police Chief Brody. I also thought Roy did a good job in "2010" and had seen him in "The Seven Ups" before "Jaws" made him a superstar. He was one of Hollywood's best. IMO!
  11. Come on, it is a GAME. Nothing more, nothing less and the outcome normally has NO direct impact on most people's lives anyway. IMO:o)
  12. Dis am DA place to be IF you're not out on the water nailin 'em, IMO:o)
  13. Dang I really feel bad for you folks!! It was around 70 here today and I had the entire family over for a huge barbeque for my oldest son's 36th birthday celebration. Mentioned to both of my boys that they need to get their CA fishing licenses so we can all get out there in a week or two. Had to mow and trim the yard yesterday. Sorry to hear about the bad weather back East. It should only last a few more weeks, if that, I hope!!
  14. Well, I suppose all real fisherman could join together and have some scientists at Cyberdyne create some FISHINATORS which would swim around and terminate the Robofish if they ever become a reality.
  15. I hope to at least catch one of the species I am after for the day. I don't mind getting skunked every once in awhile, but I don't like it all that much either. Learning a new technique or how to fish a new lure productively got my vote. Chance are if I do either of those correctly, I'll catch a few and have a smile on my face when I quit for the day. IMO:o)
  16. John J: CLEVER response!!! UMO:o)
  17. Great race and a great finish. I was glad to see Jr. win and Stewart loose. I've been a fan of Jeff Gordon since he came up from the sprint cars but I like Jr. as well. Johnson hails from El Cajon which is only about 25 miles from where I live but there's just something about him that I don't care for all that much. The real Daytona ought to be a "barn burner" this year. One of the few NASCAR races I seldom miss, along with the "Greatest Spectical in Racing", INDY!
  18. BM's been nippin at my heals lately too. Gotta get some orders in soon:o)
  19. bassdocktor: I've been a MOPAR fanatic since 1964!! I've owned 'Cudas, Challengers, Road Runners, GTX's, Chargers, Furys, RT's, SuperBees, you name it, I've probably owned one:o) Sitting in my garage is the Dodge I've had for the past 10 years. It is a 1 of 92 built 1969 Hemi SuperBee coupe with a 4 spd. I love MOPARS and have always thought that the Dodges were built way better than the Plymouths!
  20. Welcome back and I seriously don't think you'll ever forget how to catch a fish:o) I hadn't gone fishing in quite some time and when I went out last weekend I was the first in our 3 man group to hook up with a bass. I was thrilled and that one fish MADE my whole day! Good thing too, 'cause the three of us only caught and released one more in 9 straight hours of fishin") You'll be reelin' 'em in SOON!
  21. Maybe National Lampoon should do one called: "The One That Got Away" or "Bass House" or something like that??)
  22. Patience young Padiwan! Soon you will be a Jedi and catch those who alude you will! ) (especially if you follow all the expert advice from BR members).
  23. I haven't figured out what my wife is going to buy me this year:o) I bought her a new florescent light fixture for the kitchen. Well, THAT'S what she wanted but not all I'll end up getting her. I think I NEED some of those Huddleston 6" swimbaits:o)
  24. Ditto to all that! Seems to me you about summed everything I'd like to do in '08 too:o) Oh, and I need to get me something to get out on the water in:o)
  25. Bought 2 of them for my son's Christmas presents. Scott, my oldest, hooked his up to my 65" big screen TV and it was a BLAST playing the sports games that came with the WII. I'm not into playing video games all that much. I'd rather be "out there" doing the real thing:o)
